Thread: What do people consider really good buffs, and what are they willing to pay?

I've been a doc for a little while now, and I'm able to hit 2.5k across the board, 3h duration. I've been charging 10k, and have been told repeatedly that "this is the best buff I've gotten, ever". In the same session, I've been told I'm overpriced.

I make my own packs, and have gotten cost down to around 3k for a full 6-stat buff for people, so my price is flexable.

Here's my question: Should I adjust my price down a bit, keep it where it is, or bump it to 11k-12k?

When I buff in places like Coronet with other docs around, they're advertising 2k-2.3k buffs, for between 6k-8k. Some days it's easy to get business, others my line remains empty forever.

I know for a fact that even at 10k my buffs are a bargin; in 3 hours I can go run missions and rake in around 500k in 45 min or so myself, so over 3 hours that comes out to around 2 mil in the time the buffs last. I do know I'm not normal when it comes to mission running, I am very fast at it, but still at 1/3 the pace, that's still around 600k-700k credits. Best part is when the buffs are at 2.5k, the mokk/janta barely scratch me, so I tend to do it without armor, so I don't incur any cost from general armor decay.

Comments? Suggestions?

You're under-priced. You will always get people who complain about pricing - but I'll bet that those same complainers are the ones who won't sell Avian meat cheaper than 200 cpu. Or sell med resources from 10 to 20 cpu.

Mind you, I don't buff for the public. Never have, and I doubt I ever will. But I've seen buffs not as strong as yours go for 12K on my server easily. Sure there are exceptions, like any other profession where pricing in involved, but I don't see anything wrong with your position.

My 2 creds.

i pay 15k a set for those 2.5k buffs and am happy to do it.

as a mdoc i sold 2.3k / 2h45 buffs for 10-12k depending on how many ppl kept asking for stats and prices as my patience wore down becuase they would not read my afk or my 30sec spam macro.

but do not lower your price or you will lose business: i was selling those same 2.3k buffs for 6k so i could grind out CM quickly and i could not get anyone to get inline, they were just to skeptical of them. so i started ninja buffing ppl that walked by. i had a fellow doctor laughing with me in /tells, our buffs were about the same but his were 12k and he had a full line while i had none...

sometimes you just cannot win, but 12k would be a great deal for yours

If they're complaining about 10k, they really have problems. That's 1 mission, 10 min work, for 3h+ buffs. In that time, they can get 200K+ and they're complaining? I'd just ignore them and move on.

I sit my happy butt on Dantooine (Radiant) and charge 10k a pop...I buy my buff packs now (too lazy to craft anymore, been doing it too long) and also hit for an average of 2.5k. No complaints on price...most of my clients are running in solo groups, and can easily make up the price (and then some!) in a single mission.

I'm certainI couldcharge more, but I don't really need to...my alt is a TKM, rakes in tons of cash...my Doc is mostly for me, and buffing anyone else is just something I do to help out others and to recoup some ofmy investment in buff packs.

I would definitely charge more if I was sitting on Dantooine. Think of the time and hassle you are saving someone by not making them go to Cnet.

I think you're under-priced too

I was in coronet yesterday with my title on.

I was flooded with /tells from ppl asking. So i decided to start a buff session

2.2k for 3h10 (without bivoli) and i asked 12k

No complaints at all.

Few hours later, another doc come by and ask 10k for 2450 3h buffs. I told him he could raise his price.

Even with this guy advertising just beside me, ppl were still willing to pay 12k for my buffs!

I ended my buff session telling ppl to go see other doc cause he had better prices!

So it depends on a few thing:

Location

How many other Docs are already buffing

Power/duration: personnaly i think +2400 +3h are really good buffs and i would pay 12-15 k

I started charging 15k for buffs either 2400 for 3hrs or 2509 for 2 hr 45 min, got ocasionally moaned at that there to expensive. then started a buffing session at coronet starport for 13k for the same buffs and got told by 8 ppl "these are great buffs you should charge 15k"

so seems you can't win

I can get 2.5k buffs for 12-14k on Europe-Farstar and the same sort of buffs for 5-10k on Europe-Infinity, really depends on your server. On the occasion i buffed people (Only on Farstar) i charged 15k and before now have charged 30k on the more advanced planets like dathomir, many flames but just as many willing to pay the cost.

Its so funny how people call docs greedy for wanting so much for buffs. The way i see it ithey have trained us to charge them more, I mean I go through wound pacs like crazy and rarely get a tip, disease, stims that stuff adds up and the only thing i get paid for Is my buffing.

On radiant pirces are low for buffs they are slowly catching up woth other servers but they are still low, I was charging 7k a month ago on dant. ThenI started working a Mele Profession and saw the true value of my buffs and now i wont buff for under 10k. I rarely do the starport thing unlessI happen to be in coronet and see someon selling lower buffs than mine for what my normal min is and thenI add 2k to the price. People will pay to stay out of line. Personally Ive been spending more time trying to become a strictly crafting doc, the over all profit might not be as hi but it seems easier to just sell buffs to other docs and thenI can spend more time playing the game.

I dont know if you should raise your price but as long as you have a line there is no reason to lower. The people that complain dont flinch at sepending half a mil for stun composite armor, millions for attachments and they cant even use it with out me buffing them so they can put it on. Irony

So it seems the general consensus here is I could probably get away with charging a bit more. Might make my sitting in Corospam or the Lagtooine Mining Outpost more inviting.

I'll start doing 12k in Coronet, and 15k at Dant Mining. Out of the way places (Dathomir, yavin 4, etc) make it 20k for the few customers. I'll let you know what happens in a couple sessions.

Though, I'll keep my 'alternate' form of payment the same. Yavin Avian on Radiant right now is around 950oq/950pe/600dr, so I'll take 100 units of that any time for a buff

Quick note to those who think I'm gouging for some reason: Master Doc tag with search ability turned on and any sort of line in front of her is an instant +125 to "Attracting the stupidest people in game". Trust me on that one.

If I buff others (only for PvP) my buffs are 3014 to health/action and 2750 to the secondaries, and they are free.

I've been master doc for about 2 days now. I put on the tag because I felt a sense of accomplishment. It's amazing how it attracts people. My house is on Dantooine around a player city that is an advanced job market ($$!!). I was just sitting there chatting with my guildies, not spamming or offering buffs, and I got about 5 hits out in this remote area. People love a good doc. (Not that I'm a good doc, btw...)

Yeah you're not charging enough for those buffs. I was charging 12k for my 2.5k to each stat buffs. I could have easily charged 15k I think... Still new to the whole Master Doc thing, ya know.
