Right now I guess is pretty safe to say that all we know about what the combat balance will do with buffs is just rumors and speculation, specially because they haven't even started the Alpha testing (they say it should start in a couple of weeks) and the closed Beta is scheduled only for after the Holidays.

So far what we know isthat apparently a total HAM rebalance is going to happen, soobviously doc buffs will be effected. Also from what I could understand specials will no long use theHAM bars. There will be some other kindof bar for it. So having a 2000+ HAM bar will no longer allow a player to spam specials like crazy. (a good thing, in my opinion)Plus, there are alsosome conjectures regarding buffs becoming a percentage of your actual HAM instead of a hard number as it is today. But like I said, all is just rumors so far.

Bottom line is, the Devs haven't announced yet anything specific regarding what can we expect to happen to healing and buffs once the combat balance hits the live servers (probably because they're still working on it). So for now I guess all we can do is wait till they start releasing some more official information on the subject.

But don't despair, I really do believe that no matter what they do with buffs, they willcontinue tobe needed and useful, as they will always represent an advantage for the players that have them. (Plus I'm really curious about what they will be doing with the Medic prof, since as today, it's apparently just a requirement for the Doc prof instead of a prof of their own).

Nothing worth doing is completed in our lifetime,
Therefore, we are saved by hope.
Nothing true or beautiful or good makes complete sense in any immediate context of history;
Therefore, we are saved by faith.
Nothing we do, however virtuous, can be accomplished alone.
Therefore, we are saved by love.
No virtuous act is quite a virtuous from the standpoint of our friend or foe as from our own;
Therefore, we are saved by the final form of love which is forgiveness.

No one knows for sure, we just know something is going to happen, and it's probably gonna piss alot of people off.

Correct on nothing specific that will change

But what is going to be tested is a double stat buff - as per TH - just as entertainer buffs - you have 400 secondaries you get 800 - you got 1000 health you get 2000

Fear not armor is changing too - from what I read the uber composite that protects from all states - kin, stun elec etc.... will also no longer be - it will be interesting to say the least.

I think it is going to encourage grouping a lot more. So you are more likely going to see more docs in the field. Should be fun, I miss the days of grouping.

I agree with you. As a matter of fact I think the "nerf" on armor will be alot more extreme than the one that will happen with buffs. But we will see.

Yeah, it really is a preference thing, and there is no right or wrong here but I'm also not a fan of the godmode times we are living in PvE today.

All they have to do to balance the game quickly is nerf armor and give rifleman its 2x melee damage taken mod back.

Man I hope so!!! I've been so tempted to redo my favorite template back in the day (and that was many many many days ago) was MCM/Doc 4441. I could rez, cure states and had the bestest healing ability. I didn't use poisons, or diseases until right before I ended up dropping CM. As any doctor knows shadowing folks to heal stinks I personally can't wait for the combat revamp, we need grouping again

Well, obviously there are people who know. Just none who aren't bound by NDA not to reveal it.
