then why did they not just tone them down.
Ikeep reading how with buffs you can ignore the con rating and go after everything wich has spoiled the combat side of the game,ok tone them down.
I use my own buffs , there not great 1500-1700 buffs only, so i still have to watch out who i attack ,where i goand know when to leg it.
Surely the devs can put an upper limit on the buff packs so that no matter how good your resources are you cant go above the maximum,so soloing a Kryat dragon and other such critters will become virtually impossible to all but the most gifted player(and quite posibbly the luckiest)
I have only once in 4 months of playing used a 3k buff and to be honest it was too easy ,did not particuly like it so i have never used such a high buff again ,i'm happy with mine it give you some protection but you still have to Think and watch what you are doing.
Another note read the explanation for removing the crafting tree ,
By freeing the healing professions from the crafting game we will be opening up a new style of game play for adventurous healers and encourage them to head out into the field and fulfill a strong group role in the new combat system.
how about just redesigning med so that you can have one thet heals health linked stats and one that heals action healed stats ,that is essentially what happens when you go see the entertainers, simpler ,less inventory space and quick to use.
I dont spend much time crafting i only craft what i need when i need it (oops right the docs out side coronet starport buffing must have to spend time crafting and at there prices they can hardly afford to buy and run factories to do it for them)
Have not played the new system yet but some ones referal to the docs 'healing magic' if this is so it does not belong in a techno enviroment docs need equipment to heal (okay someone else will make ) what next Elves as a racial choice.I say this only on the pretext that docs and medics will do away with equipment and use ther mind powers more ,if this does not become so them kindly disregard this sentance.
I will still have to check how the stats work in regards to docs and medics hit points but if they dont progress to the point where joining there fellow players out in the field is an option, you wont see too many out there, so i hope this is adressed already.
And before anyone says that its not just the buffs that are the problem its the armor and weapons too i dont have much experience in there usage so i am unable to comment or give my thoughts on the subject.

What made the devs think we didn't want the craft element in the first place?

This has always been my question. I really did not understand their train of thought.

I think its because we could Heal, Buff, and Craft. No other combo of professions can do that....so we had a monopoly on a huge part of the market. That would be my assumption.
We were just to usefull.../shrug

Maybe they are games designers from the other games and of course the healers clasess just waved their hands to perform their healing tricks, saw our menagery of hi-tecpotions and became confused and said to themselves "Why do they need all that they can just wave their hands and will be better, so lets get rid of those things and make it MAGIC"
Just a thought.

I agree....but I think that is the devs feelings. We could heal, if we didn't heal we could sell to people "wasting" 15 sp on NM...and we could buff anyone totally throwing balance out the window. I mean we had a large market....honestly bigger then anyone else if you really think about it.

Anyone who still wants to craft doc components still can, with the same number of skill points spent as current Master Doc. Doc crafting has moved, yes, but it doesn't mean you can't craft anymore. Many players didn't like crafting and thus didn't do Doctor or Medic or master them because of crafting. This was likely a big reason. Since crafting wasn't taken away, just moved, I don't see what the complaint is.

Which begs the question, who's going to be more pissed doc buffs are gone, combatants or the docs themselves.....

We can still buff....they just aren't going to be the "end" game anymore like they are now. Personally I'm glad people will no longer need to depend on buffs like they do now. I always hated the "I win" button while I was buffed...

Except we also lost 70% of all things we could craft.
