Thread: greedy docs....
docs think hunters are ripping them off....everyone else thinks docs are ripping them off. everyone needs to make a profit, and the bottom line is that docs pay a lot for resources, and hunters spend a LOT of time enabling docs to buff people......in turn, docs can buff people, enabling them to play the game at a level MUCH MUCH higher than they would be able to play otherwise. i hate to hear that anyone is ripping off anyone else. it's just not how it is. everyone gains through this... and the end result is that people can PvP, or finish those high-payout missions to get more money/profit per hour than the docOR hunters. 10k for a buff is only a fraction of what people can make from doing missions, with very little other overhead....

u guys are gettin out of hand with the 50k bufs though
dont get greedy please, you already make enough as is, no need to rob people
make hundreds of thousands in an hour as it was with 10k buffs
with 50k buffs.....it aint right
thats insane
thx and please dont flame, merely expressing an opinion not trolling
Be a doctor "now" and tell me we make enough as is. Besides, who are you to tell someone that what they are making now is "enough"? Enough for What? Enough to go out and gather all the crap to be able to run right out and buff again?
Tell us oh wise one who was once a Doctor... exactly how much is enough for doctors to make as actual profit? Would it be as much as the average Joe makes in profit of his average 3 hour hunt?
I DO agree that 50k IS totally insane for ANY buff set. However.. is this a price quoted to you from a doctor who doesn't normaly buff public? Is it possible this Doctor was hunting somewhere, or on a quest when he got a message like " yo dood, i need a buff where U at???" ? Or was he standing at a starport advertising this price?
This isn't a Flame but you Could have provided a little more information than that. Because to me it looked like a Flame to Doctors in general. But I honestly don't know.

Agreed. Accusingothers of ripping someone else off or being greedy just based on your own experience is giving too much creditto your own views. How do you account for their time or for the effort that they put in, harvesting, buffing, answering tells, dealing with annoying people? Simple, you can't.
Too many times the argument is reduced to arguing about thecost of resources. Because that is all that people see when they try to attack/defend buff prices. BS.Do I put in the same amount of effort putting a batch ofGaffi Stickstogether and placing it on my vendor, versus dealing with buffing customers and the inevitable difficult people? Do I get more stressed out making a schematic forbivoli and cooking it into the factory, or in answering tells from half a dozen people all at once about topics that you are already spamming in spatial chat while trying to keep your eye on the buffee and their tipping, special requests, buffs, etc.? Even on the subject of resources, how much will I be able to sell a XX% Base Ubese, Compo etc. Armorusing regular resourcescosts, versus will people even buy my buffs at all (if they don't whine me to death first) if I don't use the most uber of resources andbuff for 2k stats vs the regular 2.5k? I have nothing against WS, chefs and AS. I think they're greatprofessions and I enjoy them as much as doc.But toreduce the appropriate compensation forthe process of crafting packs, dealing with wave upon wave of customers 1-on-1 andsupervising and administeringenhancements to simply theCOST OF RESOURCESis something that is purely arbitrary and ridiculous.
Opportunity cost, that's what it boils down to for me. If I can do something else more rewarding (credits and satisfaction wise) with my time and effort, I will. If I am asked to sacrifice time onthese activities to help you accomplish yours, I will ask for what I think is suitable compensation for me to do so. If you think it's not what you are prepared to pay, then please be on your way and I'll be on mine.
What is annoying is peopletelling me what I should be charging for my time and effort. If you think your time is worth only XX amount, then charge it by all means. If I don't agree with you, it doesn't make me greedy or undercutting to charge more or less than you do. If I wanna buff, heal and rez my friendsfor free but don't extend the same courtesy to you, that's my perogative. You don't like it? Throw your skill points into doc and help yourself, or not. But don't tell me that I SHOULD charge this much only because based on your own blah blah blah, it SHOULD be blah blah blah.
People like to pick on docs and their buff pricesbecausedocs have to announcetheir earnings and make it visible compared to e.g., the solo-groupers (like myself sometimes) who make millions from the mission terminal or forum traders who make millions off a single trade from loot or resources with almost zero visibility.Enough already.
