I dont wan't to be another drama queen from radient, ButI think that all the afk buffers and all the afk entertainers shouldn't be allowed on SWG, sure its easier said then done, but it could happen. The game would be much more fun when you have people acually working for their doc/ent XP not just leaving their computers on all day and getting millions of XP when they get back.

Please post what you think

There are plans to remove recursive macros from the game. This will not stop afk dancing but it will stop afk flourishes. They'll still get XP, just not as much. As for the buff bot doctors, buff bot entertainers, tumblers and tumbler healers, they will have to have a huge macro written to work. Not sure how well a buff bot will function with the removal of the recursive macros. SWG will most likely just loose a whole buch of subscriptions from alts people have that are buff bots.

WellI guess that would help a little, butsome people will still make complex macros and eventually everyone will have them, its going to be macro programers vs devs until the devs start banning people.

Personally I couldn't disagree with you more. I get countless entertainer buffs from 2 Dancers/Musicians in particular who I can always count on to be in the same location, every single day. If I didn't have them there always buffing it would be a severe pain in the ass to find another entertainer buffing.

And as to the fact that they aren't working to get their XP, I disagree. They're just working smart and not as hard and I don't blame anyone that uses macros to progress in a game like this. Some of the grinds in this game are ridiculous and if people want to get through them a little more quickly I don't have a problem with that.

Unfortunately, that's one of the reasons people complain that there isn't any content to the game. While this is still a poor design issue, that is one of the things that people spend a majority of their game time doing. By using macros to do it quickly, people become really tired of the game very quickly. I suppose this is up to the individual, but I don't think any profession should be mastered as quickly as its possible right now. It should take at least a couple of months of consistent gameplay to master a specialized profession. Also, I don't want to see tens of thousands of jedi running around the server because they were able to quickly master it using macros. I think it's a good call by the devs; however, it's not going to stop it...just make it a little more difficult. Whtat they need to do is somehow detect/prevent the user of 3rd party tools that can still do all the work of a recursive macro.

The plan to remove recursive macros has been pushed back. There was a message from TH about it a while ago.

yes, hard to take out recursing macro's in a game based on the use of macro's.

besides, cant we just let the topic go,,, it seems to be a never ending whinefest about buff bots. Hey it may be the cheap[ way to do it but beats the helk out of boucning 3 planets to sit in line for 30 to 40 minutes just to go back to hunting gurks or something.

If you Active Docs wanna stop the buff bots may be make yourselves a bit more available rather then all of you sitting in 1 or 3 spaceports.

And thats my 2 cents

Active doctorshave the potential tobuff for more than afk doctors. When was the last time you found a non-active entertainer who was in the same reliable spot where you could get a buff? Its merely a convenience issue. Getting rid of recursive macros isn't going to fix tumblers. Tumbling was supposed to be a type of ranged CoBand is probably how Center of Being should be (no specials while using it). Its days are numbered btw so many medics will have to find new ways of grinding med exp. (ask your local CM to health disease someone for you).

Are recursive macros really a reason there is less content in the game? Not really. Theres less content because the devs forgot to put any in. Heck even giving back our battlefields would be an improvement. The leftover one by coronet is kinda fun.

Nerfing of recursive macro's isn't going to fix much at all. They ought to be putting their efforts to more important things like ohhh Jedi nerfs, GCW revamp, combat revamp, medic revamp, smuggler revamp, and even JTL.

Buff Bots / Entertainers do not NEED exp ... to be of any use, they already HAVE the master title, so why would they bother hanging about gaining exp?! So before you start complaining about something, at least get the idea right! The problem is, few are the people that are willing to sit around for a few hours just mind buffing people as they need it, especially at the off peak hours. In a game so dependant on buffs, you can understand why people wnat reliability to play as opposed to feeding the egos of some. With Jedi Grind gone, we can only hope that the afk grinders will go as well.

Do not stuff us all up to satisfy your own self, try and find a solution or compromise. (and do not rely on the devs to come up with a solution *grin*)

The way I see it ... if thats how they wanna play, I dont see how someone running a buff bot (Doc or Ent) is hurting anyone. Just dont go in their building if you dont want a buff.

I have set up a bot a few times but only because I couldnt be there to buff people myself.

As for macros ... thats one thing I have always liked about SWG.Macros are a part of the game. You can make the game as simple or complex as you want. You can run around and do everything by hand, just shooting things and not use any macro at all. You can take that to any level of play. People figured out templates, complex macros, figured out the formulas of crafting and explored every small detail of the game. Just for fun I have been working on a few ... like auto milker. (I just cant figure out the comand or even if it exists ... /harvest milk? etc LOL if anyone has a idea lemme know ))

Its a game, play how you want and let others play the way they want.
