Thread: The most useless class in the game
We heal for the same as CMs, but they can do it from range (and dont tell me that we heal better, a CM that knows how to craft can make stim-Es only 50 HP lower than a doctor that knows how to craft). If you clone you almost never need wounds healed. If i am forced to res someone, chances are i am good as dead as well. Buffs, if made properly, are great! They last a long time now thank god, toobad you get 1k+ buffs from a 850 Healing power Enhance pack about...never.Even lower chance if you have to do it near a droid or in camp. Why should i bother buffing aTKA Masterwhen he still will get one-hit while wearing composite armor trying to tank something as gimp as a nightsister initiate?
Tuskens are boring, All but the Dune Kimo's are gimp, Krayt dragons would be fun if the babies didnt one hit tanks with 2500 HP ( which i can no longer buff to 99/100 times) and now i come home from out of town only 5 days to find that i can no longer make ANY pharmeceuticals that require 3 identical BECs in under 4 days, and only in crates of 32...and only that many if i happen to get lucky enough not to crit fail, since medical crafting had the crap beaten out of it by the nerf stick.
Realistically thats22 days per 30 Stim-Es, 30 of each Enhance pack, 30 reskits...just enough buffs and stims to last about...10 days of hardcore play. 22 Days of BOREDOM for 10 days of play? Why bother? Oh wait, lets make take this into LUDICROUS **edit**, we will nerf all these pharmeceuticals until crafting them sucks SOOOO bad that no one will be a doctor, and we will require a substantial increase in resources required to make said buffs, but we wont fix the NOVICE skill requirement to make heavy harvesters work. Or mediums for that matter.
OOO i can go out factioning...no wait, Doctor cost so many skill points that i cant afford Artisan(which might as well be required) and scout (once again, should have been required) AND a weapon skill. Since i need meats and 130597130965170967019 other resources, im stuck as gimp as possible in the combat direction. And now that i cant even reasonably make meds, i am 100% useless. Thanks SOE, thanks for wasting my time, my money, and my brain power.
As long as I buff in a medical center, my buffs (700+ base) hit for over 1k very frequently, sometimes over 1800. Im sorry that you dont enjoy the class, thats what skill surrendering is for. I am a Master Doctor, almost Master TKA which will allow me 17 extra points. When I go solo hunting, I buy novice Scout for 100c and harvest what I kill. When resources shift, I surrender scout, buy novice Artisan for 100c and go survey for spots to place harvetsers. My buffs are invaluable to me and my groups. My rez is invaluable to my group members. I wouldnt trade it for anything.
First off either A: you buy your components, or B: you havent tried to make factory meds recently. Second, I love being a healing class, i wasnt the first novice doc and one of the first master docs on tarquinas for no reason. Its really great that you are TKA, big up, butthe majorityof the doctors out there dont have someone to tell them when resources change, or dont have the time or money to change around an extra 15 points 4-5 times a day. Maybe you dont leave your home planet, who knows. Maybe you dont use Stim-Es or Med-Es, but i for one travel everywhere looking for the best. Switching those secondary classes is not only a waste of time, but a waste of money. My friends all rely on me for resource info anyways, so switching is not an option. The point is, you are a very unique situation, and i must say that if your friends are relying on res's, it means you arent healing (which is most likely due to you trying to tank). Buffing was never an issue until last week. 2200+ buffs were not uncommmon. But since the "large patch" the frequency of good buffs (yes in a med center) has dropped dramatically.
The point Im trying to make here is not that the class sucks, its that the nerfs that have hit crafters have ruined the use of this class. You dont need to be master doc to res btw, nor do you need it to buff, just to make the best buffs. Im not about to surrender the skill points of a mastered class because they nerfed factories to the point where they are useless to MDs, or because there have been numerous requests to fix the Harvester Mechanism required for larger floral farms that have been ignored. You dont go forcing a class to use so much more time and so many more resources while completely ignoring the needs to support such a requirement. Doctor is the most expensive crafting class to maintain seeing as how everything we make poofs in a matter of minutes, but is also the least earning class. To "cockblock" us from being able to craft any kind of volume is just plain wrong. Heck, how about instead of nerfing factories to uselessness why dont you try fixing the crating issue. The point is, DROP THE STINKING BAT AND FIX CRAP THAT DOESNT WORK. I have had too many friends quit this game already due to lack of content, lack of fixes for known issues since beta, all the while having everything in sight nerfed into oblivion. Its about support, and it seems they are too busy having fun breaking stuff to get anything necessary done.
Factories weren't nerfed to uselesness, they were bugged (And being fixed in this morning's patch FINALLY).
I've not noticed any major crit failure problems in hand crafting since the big patch (And i've hand crafted a LOT since then. Might want to read my post about experimenting on food/chem crafters that I discovered recently).
Having a product that poofs so fast is great for business, selling stim B's en masse to fighters with novice medic is a very good business, especially if you use advanced components, I sell stim B's 35-300+ for 1250 each on my vendor and they sell fairly well.
I drop woundpack-B's, stim-C's, woundpack-C's for master medics, res kits and they all sell out at decent rates.
Wow. I couldn't disagree more. I'd say that for PvE, doctors are second only to CHs in usefulness.
And you can be an effective doc and combat class at the same time. I am doing it, and know several others that are. You don't need scout to bea doc, get your generic organics from flora harvesters. You'll find the quality that you can find is MUCH, MUCH better than what you can find with harvesting. For avian and herbivore meat, you'll need scout temporarily. I trade off artisan and scout skills once in a while when I find a good supply of meat, or am running out of my current supply.

"Yeah, Doctor is so useless to me because I end up saving my buddies when we are out in the wilderness from deathblows, healing their wounds snap fast in the field, and buffing the TKAs so they don't kill themselves in battle. I'm soooooooo useless."
I feel the sarcasm oozing. ![]()
I totally agree with crazyrobo. Having to wait for a group member to run back from the cloning center when you arean 1hour deep into Lok is a freaking nuisance. I love Doctors.
Subject should read "The suckiest, **edit**tiest doctor on my server"
Our skills and abilities are oneof the reasons peopel are taking on creatures far above the power we are suppsoed ot be (which is one of the reasons mind incap is so common I think).
Properly buffed combatants can spamm special moves... even insanely high HAM ones.
If anything, we are crusing for some serious nerf Thwappage.

Like the mentalist in DAOC, doctors are everyone's favorite class for someone else to play ![]()
