Say you were at the end of the geo cave. You get a tell asking for a buff, so you respond with a 50k price. They say sure and are at the cave enterance, so you make your way up there. Finally when you get there you get a 5k tip and the customer states that you had stated 5k, not 50k and he wasn't going to pay your ridiculous price. Then he says that it was your own fault for not communicating clearly. You go back to your chat logs - clear as day, 50k.

I chose to keep the 5k for my time and trouble. Not to mention the use of about 6 intimidate/stun/blind packs used in getting back to the enterance, and passing up an Acklay kill. Is that wrong?

I dont know what to say. But if you said 50k and he tipped you 5k, I would have kept his money and not buffed him, just for your troubles. I'd say you did the right thing.

First, ask them to look at thier logs.

Then if they still think they are correct then /addignore and move on.

Things I have learned.

1. When going into a cave always take down your doc tag. Those in your group will know your a doc. By taking your doc tag down you will not get the many tells asking for services. I have gotten killed more times than I would like to count by playing tell tag and not watching what I was doing.

2. Have them state the agreement back to you. Don't accept the "k". Have them state "i will pay you xxx for yyy".

3. Learn to just say "No". So often docs feel that they have to buff everyone and their mother. Learn to just let the cash go and do the fun things in the game.

If I had been in your shoes and was waiting at the end of the cave I would have just said "sorry, I can't come up now. I will be done here in about an hour. If you still need a buff at that time I will head on up".

I always change my MD tag when I go hunting or fighting, this helps to prevent people from finding you when you don't want them to. But some people will still find you anyway! Damn stalkers!

Okay, that's called GRIEFING, plain and simple. If he's in a guild, report him to his guild leader for being a total ass. You could charge just about ANYTHING for a buff at the geo cave, and if I was at the bottom, and he at the top, I'd ask for a 100k BANK tip in advance, non refundable if I died on the way up.

That's about the lousiest thing I've ever heard done to a Doc.

Personally, I think you did the right thing. I would have done the same, especially if I were at the bottom of that cave.

People who abbreviate three letter words aren't worth talking to anyways.

how ever heard of a 5 k buff? Guy was ful of it.

Ouch, one of the worst customers ever. If you're busy then don't be afraid to kindly reply with a no, or I'll be with you in an hour or so after I'm done down here. Don't put up with those kind of "customers".

I was this so called customer, i admit i miss read i checked the logs as soon as he said "you missed a zero" i thought he said 5k, i'm sorry i'm not gonan pay 50k for a buff i just can't afford it.

So he walked off and kept the money added me to ingnore and said nothing. You can not just go around stealing money of people because i made a mistake.

If he had said to me somthing like "oh i think its fair i keep this 5k since i came all the way up from the bottom of the geo cave i might of said fine

My alt is a doctor so i get people like this somtimes but i never take money off them for "time"

Buti never said it was cytos fault in anyway i just simple said "ouch i thought it was abit a cheap" and he left with my 5k

i don't remember saying that but i did not blame you for one moment. Or try to i simply miss read and lost 5k as a result. that isnt fair.

As a doc who has seen far too much of this kind of thing, let me just make a couple quick points.

1 - 50k is NOT too much for a buff. There are countless posts here on exactly what you can do in god mode for 3 hours. Even an elite novice can sit on dant and pull 15k missions and run them like nothing. 5 missions, money made back, at least 2 hours left on your buffs.

2 - This person was at the Geo Caves. This area is notorious, across all servers, for being pricy. First, you're on hard content, the geo caves are not for the feint of heart. 2nd, you're in the wild, and a very dangerous area. 3rd the doc is trying to be helpful.

3 - This entire matter, at it's very heart, is over 5k credits. If that means that much to you, you should NOT be at the geo caves, you should be on naboo, corellia, or tatooine, or possibly dant. In fact, you should be anywhere but the geo caves, deathwatch bunker, 'vette, or any other of the top-end content. These areas require the skill from experience, as well as the resources to prepare and back up your actions. While gathering any of that, you will pick up a few mil credits along the way, and 5k won't mean much anymore.

4 - Right or wrong, what you have put this doc through is why a lot of us no longer buff the public, keep our helper tags up, or generally enjoy the part of the game we really did like. I'm in that boat. I love to help, I love to take a group of new players to mid -ranged content for the first time, I love to just sit and chat in the med center while I heal people, I love every aspect of playing a support class! But constant complaints, demands (not requests) for my time, followed by some of the rudest language I've ever herd in my life because my help "isn't good enough" have totally ruined that part of the game for me... and I dare say this doc too.

i dont disupte that and i would of helped the doctor get back down if he wanted it.

i am a experienced pvp'er i am a master rifleman/tkm/brawler i don't think this high end content is aproblem and i am not tha bothered about the 5k its not alot of money but it still dosnt give him the right to steal it.

i was not rude to him i did not swear and i did not complain i made a mistake by misreading and then said i couldn't afford to pay that much for the buffs
