Last night I was at the Geonosian caves with a few friends. We were down below in the 2nd geonosian room doing our thing. (Past the 2nd doors) When all of a sudden I get a tell. Some dude asking for a buff, not normal. So I precede to tell him 20k per as I'd have to risk killing myself getting up there and all that stuff. This is more than a fair price IMO for this location. He procedes to tell me that I'm only here to buff people. I proceed to tell him I'm here to lvl and not here to buff everyone and their brother. He tells me doctors are already rich and don't need to level. Well I'm a Master pikeman also and have dropped it for a few days to master CH. So he proceeds to cuss me out because I won't go up risk killing myself just to buff HIM. So I just /addignore! Anyone ever get tells like this?

Yea, I like being available to help people. But when I have 3 enhanced kwis' on me and group. Sorry I can't come buff you. My favorite are the tells for people IN the Acklay room asking for res'. Yes let me run through the WHOLE geonosian caves to rez you in the process of training the entire labs on me and your group. Some people are brainless sometimes

I use to get a, "Can you rez me? I'm down at the pool" out at the Tusken Fort all the time. Then I stopped going there. One person even bothered to tell me, "Be careful there are about 7 Warlords here." I thought it was nice that the buffed Master Commando couldn't survive, but the Master Doctor should be able to walk right in and rez. This was before Vasarian Brandy, and I only had Pistols 4. Even when I have cover fire to get down there to rez, it's rare that I have /consent. This is why I would /shout there all the time, "Feel free to protect the Master Doctor at all costs." You would be surprised how well this works sometimes.

Well, i think when you're a master doc you should either dont make yourselve searchable, or dont wear the tag when you don't feel like buffing/rezzing, docs job is to buff and rez, so if you make yourselve searchable with the tag on you're kinda asking for it if you ask me (yes, i was a master doc so i know how it is)

For doctors on the other hand this is the complete OPPOSITE ofhow your business works. Now if you only SELL buffs to other doctors than your business will run much like a crafter but if you are like most doctors than your business happens right then and there withclients. This is how it works and this is how people EXPECT it to work.

I'm sure this would be surprising informatio to all the doctors that sell their products on vendors....you know, just like all the other crafters do. Here's a piece of info for you that you seem to have missed. Not all doctors buff people for a living.

The other major difference is that doctor matters tend to be matters of "life&death" respectively. Someone isn't going to be DB'd because they don't have a house. But somoene incapped in the Geo cave is VERY likely to be DB'd or already DB'd and need the assistance of a doctor. Now you say you are SOOO proud you are a doctor and INSIST onwearing the title? Well if you can help sucha person I'd say you should.

I'm not saying run to the far reaches of a planet or even through hords ofdangerous mobs to rez someone. But don't just leave someone dead on the ground because"You're not rezzing people right now" Or refuse someone abuff in a dungeon because you're off duty. If you'renot wanting to play the role of doctor at the moment why wear the title in situations where people need it most?

I'll wear whatever title I want to wear when I want to wear it. Wearing the MD title does NOT require me to be your personal buff **edit**. I'll buff people when I feel like it, not when you feel like it. You don't like that then you're perfectly welcome to go find another doctor.

I agree 100% with Takenzo. The only reasons you should even have your doctor title up is 1) you are providing buff/rez services in an area. or 2) you want to be made searchable by other doctors requiring training. If you have your title up and DO NOT plan on doing either of these you are just asking to be bombarded with /tells for such requests. Now I don't think that you deserve to be blasted by little punks for refusing them service and in dangerous situations I feel it is ok to inflate your prices considerably. It is not OK in my opinion for you to walk around with the Master Doctor tag displayed if you have no intention of operating as that role.

If you are grouped you can simply utilize the group chat to let your teammates know that you are Doctors and can provide all the skills attributed to the class. If someone sees you buffing/rezing and insists that you do the same to them, if you don't have your tag showing just politely let them know you are supporting your group at the moment and don't have time/resources to help anyone else right now.

I may try to hotfoot it past a Tusken Warlord or two, but those Tusken Executioners have some real likeability issues.

I would have to disagree jcow79. I think anyone who is able to don a title is free to do so without being ethically forced into doing anything. I used to wear my master doctor title because I was proud of being a master doc. The general community has turned it into meaning "I will buff you, heal you, cure you, and resuscitate you for free!"

This is similar to saying to someone with the Architect tag up "You have to make me my PA Hall right now." Doctors are as obligated to perform their class function as much as a squad leader or other profession is. And that is doing what the person behind the avatar wants to do.

Exactly, wearing the title doesn't mean you have to have the intention to do anything, that's stupid.

Sure, you are asking for tells if you wear it, but I earned it, I'll wear it if I want to, not because I'm buffing/rezzing.

I used to wear my doctor title tag because I wasproud to bea doctor. It wasn't because I wanted to be your personal buff monkey. I don't expect a WS to repair my weapon on the spot or make me a gun on the spot. So should they take down their title? Maybe someone will ask me if I can supply them with stimpacks. I can then direct them to my shop. That is a potential customer I would not have had otherwise. Or maybe they just have a question regarding the profession. In most cases, I am more than happy to answer any questions.

I wear my Master Doctor title because I consider myself to be a master of the profession. I understand what can be done with my skills. I understand what resources are going to do to my meds before I even use them. It's also a way to advertise my shop without having to spam in Coronet.Seeing a Master Doctor titledoes not entitle you toa set of buffs. It is not an invitation for abuse, at least not more than any other profession. That being said, if you treat me nicely, I will do the same. If you politely ask me if I am buffing and I am not doing so, I will politely say no and possibly direct you to a nearby doctor who is. If you are rude, I will just ignore you.

Exactly!

That'd be like if you saw a master architect and asked him if he had a house for sale.

Me: Hello, do you have a house for sale?

Arch: Nope, sorry.

Me: Okay, well I'll just wait here until you make me one.

Arch: I'm sorry, I don't have the resources on me right now. I'm doing "such and such".

Me: NP, I'll wait, you can survey and build harvestors, I'm sure getting the resources are no problem.

Its gotten to the point that I NEVER wear my title, but I wish I could.

Wearing the doctor title entitles people to ask me if I'm buffing/rezing it DOES not entitle them to get pissed if I decline.
