Thread: Does anyone charge more for buffing on advanced planets?

I've noticed docs typically buffing for 10k in cities. That seems fair. But what about the high level planets? Does it sound fair to charge extra for buffing there? Most people who play on those planets do it for the high payout missions or expensive loot. I'd think 15-20k would be fair. Anyone have any other comments about this?

P.S.
I haven't even started buffing yet so I'm just getting an idea of what to do. My first set of packs should be ready sometime next week.

I doubt you would sell that many buffs for 20k... but theoretically anyway, you should be paid more for buffing at advanced planets, if you don't have any intention of going there otherwhise and just happen to get a feeling of buffing people. People will like you better at 10k than at 20 though.

In a word, yes. People will pay more to gett buffed

without a queue
On a remote planet
With an effectivness greater than X

If people will pay it, wny not charge it? If no one will pay it, charge less.

15-20k would be fair on a planet where mission payouts are 20k or more, you can make back your buff cost in one mission

lets see

Dathomir=Enraged Rancor missions at 36-38k per mission (some can solo)

buff average last=3 hrs

Elapsed time to finish (i've watched before)= 5-10 min

10x36=360k

360x3=1080k credits

1080k credits=1 mil , 80 thousand credits

i think 20k is a very FAIR price for a buff

however, they could die, and sometimes driving could be long, but it is about 10 min per mission, like maybe 2 min to drive there (with swoop), so they could make serious money off that 1 buff, i think 20k is a VERY FAIR if not a RIPOFF for you, heck; buff yourself and just go do missions with an elite profession (fencer, tka, swordsman, pikeman, rifleman, pistoleer, carbineer can all solo with the right weapons) and get your money like that

that isnt an exact amount but if they didnt die and did it straight they could make EASILY 600-1mil off em

I don't actually charge more for buffs on the Adventure Planets, I just don't often get buff customers on the Commerce Worlds. I charge 10k flatly because it eats into my Buff Pack stock.

Honestly, I'm thinking about increasing my price again to see if the market will bear it. I mean, if someone does a search and picks me, it's because I'm the highest ranked Doctor around (I wear Master Surgeon), or none of the others would do it. People come to me when they don't have options, and I can make more running missions than I can buffing. Especially when I have to wait for them to get to me.

Average buffs = 10k

Price to advanced planet (at least) = 2400

Round trip = 4800

Time saved = invaluable to players who actually have stuff to do except blow 20 minutes getting buffed at a 'commerce planet'

So in a word 15k would easily be fair seeing how it'll be a pain in the behind + just as much money to get buffed at a 'regular' planet then come back to where they were originally going to hunt.

One of my best friends on Radiant was a Master Doc since about august and I remember him deciding that to reduce the number of people asking for buffing he would just start raising the price. I think the average was 2k when he started and was 7 or 8 by the time he logged off.

Moral of the story. If you ask it they will pay it.

I saw someone just this evening on dantooine offering 20k for buffs and I just finished buffing my group and was happy I use my Master Pikeman tag instead of the Master Doctor one. If you are going to an advanced planet with the intention of buffing I would ask 20k as a minimum and if you happen to be there and can spare the time I would probably go 30k. The amount of money is really insignificant compared to their percieved need.

I am an aspiring doctor (not buffing standard yet) but also a rifleman. I have spent a good deal of time on the 'advanced' planets and would happily pay 15k rather than 10k on those planets. As someone pointed out, the roundtrip cost is nearly 5k so I am actually not out of pocket, if anything it's better because I don't have to wait for he shuttle (so I can start hunting straight away). I would probably stretch to 20k to save me the roundtrip if the queue was very short (which at placed like coronet they are not).

Iam planning to spend some time on the advanced planets when I hit buffing standard. More times than not there are no doctors there to buff me when I came out of the cloning centre.

Anyway, whats 20k when I can solo rancor lairs for 36-38k?

good point. And I also include this in my "SELL MYSELF MACRO"

"Master Doctor Buffing at Starport For 17K. All Buffs 2 1/2 - 3 hours long at 2400 - 2500. You Save On The Time Spent On Travelling!"

I normally charge 12k for my buffs (2400 - 2500 should be worth it) and you'd be surprised at how many people are willing to pay for it.

And on Dathomir, I've been asked numerous times to run to a location and rez and rebuff a fellow. These people are willing to pay up to 100k for that service. And I don't mind (Beinga TKM puts all PVE worries out of my mind:smileyhappy

I use to only buff on advanced planets for 10K (2059 buffs for 3 hours). I broke out some lower power packs (2002 buffs for 3 hours) to sell in Theed for 6K, mainly to use them up. I might try charging a credit per point basis at some point on advanced planets.

I charge 6k on tatooine, 8k on all other planets. I started on tat and I figure so do a lot of other people.
