I would lke to get your feedback on the CU changes regarding Med Exp.

1. Method: A. How do you like the new system that gives out xp much like combat xp is given out?

B. Pros

C. Cons.

D. What was your most effective method?

2. Time: A. How long did it take you to get your first line of medic finished?

B. Longer/Shorter than you expected?

C. How did it compair to the time spent getting a combat line?

As I see peoples replies I may add more focus questions on this topic. I will be adding other topics.

I don't like that med xp is based on combat xp and the xp granted is way too low. IMHO, It'll be way too hard for a novice medic to get xp in live. Heals are far too slow. For me, the lowest level boxes weren't that hard to get, but took a lot of time and way too much drain on the sub-stats. For me, it was either get med xp in combat or get combat/weapons xp. The drain on the sub-stats was so high for me that I wasn't able to do both concurrently and effectively.

1. Method:

A. How do you like the new system that gives out xp much like combat xp is given out?

Dont like it, I should be able to get XP for HEALING outside of combat. Im unsure as to what will happen with wound healing though.

B. Pros

With people being forced into groups, all medic professions will be required in a group so people will seek us out.

C. Cons

XP is only gained from healing group member while in combat, you get no XP for healing anyone not in your group, you get no XP for healing someone in you group outside of combat, looks like doctors will be out in the field and not in the hospitals, XP gained is determined by the MOB's HAM&Your Player's level rather than how good your heals are, the MOBS do more damage than you can heal so you're still healing after combat and not getting any XP for it, time between heals is too long

D. What was your most effective method?

Attack the MOB, focus on healing my group member, pray that I dont get killed before that.

2. Time: A. How long did it take you to get your first line of medic finished?

Been playing for 3 days and im xx2x medic

B. Longer/Shorter than you expected?

Way Longer, the requirements for the upper boxeswere increased last night as well so now it will take even longer than that

C. How did it compair to the time spent getting a combat line?

Initially all XP gain was VERY slow. Combat has been improvedas well as medic xp but Im still getting weapon & combat XP faster than im gaining medic xp.

The new changes are wrong and need to be changed again, no oneshould have to group or go into combat to get medic xp this is not the way it should be, some people might want to be a medic or doctor with out combat.

I don't see that. I see us being forced into finding groupsl, and all Medics having a hard time levelling to get effective. We'll become as hated as Image Designers used to be, because people will want us to heal their wounds, but expect us to do it for nothing.

1. Method: A. How do you like the new system that gives out xp much like combat xp is given out?

I like it personally, prevents macroed Bots belittling the efforts of other Medics/Docs by repeatedly healing someone.

B. Pros

Makes Medics/Doc have to be a more active profession, at least the ones needing exp.

C. Cons.

Makes Doc need to find a group and head out.

D. What was your most effective method?

I had the luck of going out with a whole ranged party. Although the healing was hard to keep up with I think we were fighting nonconverted mobs. (outside Kaadara)

2. Time: A. How long did it take you to get your first line of medic finished?

The Crafting line took about 2 hours. I'm currently 3334 so I can't really answer this one.

B. Longer/Shorter than you expected?

xx3x took awhile, longer than expected really but I liked it that long.

C. How did it compair to the time spent getting a combat line?

It's totally identical the times. Example:

If a mob per level for you is 700 exp that is the total max you can get. If you heal only you will get 700 medical exp. If you fire a gun only it will be 700 weapons exp. If you fire and heal someone it will be a ratio of how much of each TOTALING 700 (350medical+350weapons) So litterally one column in Medic is the same as a weapon skill. I really like this by the way.

As I see peoples replies I may add more focus questions on this topic. I will be adding other topics.

I dont like it. If when i heal my self in combat and xp them maybe. But its taking way to long to find a group and someone that acutallyneeds healing currently.

B. Pros

Takes away the form of "tumblin" or "Grinding" Requires people to play the game not grind it.

C. Cons.

Sometime its hard to find a group. You can no long help people with out asking for an invite or inviting someone. ex. You see someone getting mopped up by a gorg but you need xp Me: "hey man" Them: "hi, can you heal me" Me: "Sure group up" Them: "The leader is over there" Me: "Ok be right back" I come back and find him incaped or dead /shurg

D. What was your most effective method?

Grouping up in a large group 6+ and letting them now that i was a medic and not to heal themselves.

2. Time: A. How long did it take you to get your first line of medic finished?

After day three iwas 3-3-3-1(I had gottne a lot of xp due to bugs and such.)

B. Longer/Shorter than you expected?

Shorter due to bugs, but current system waaaya longer.

C. How did it compair to the time spent getting a combat line?

Currently I am 0-4-4-0 Brawler, So i guess about the same if not longer.

Oohhh!!! A survey, my turn!

1. Method:
A. How do you like the new system that gives out xp much like combat xp is given out?

Mixed thoughts on this, the new system that requires the medical professions to be more combat based does rub at a sore point in the healing community. There are a lot of people that enjoyed been able to help others in the relative safety of the cities, patching up the injured and helping out a stranger struggling to survive and gain from it. While that other side it encourages healers to get out into the thick of things, quickly healing a teammate, in the face of danger and coming out the victor, knowing that your team wouldn't of been so lucky without your staunch assistance in their survival.

B. Pros

Gets people out into the game more and teaming up with others, stronger interaction between people and developing great use of the skills granted, gaining some content and income in the profession and a feeling of been more then just a buff monkey.

C. Cons.

Forcing people that don't enjoy or want to devote towards combat, also limiting as the need to find a group willing to include a low level healer into their circle. When gaining XP, need to choose between actively or indirectly assisting the team in the killing of the target to maximise between combat or healing experience.
The new system is also unwieldy in juggling between fighting and healing members, often healing self instead of a team mate by accident, making what is meant to be fast and dynamic feel like a handful for a new healer. This could discourage people off right at the start from continuing with this field of professions.
The 15sec delay on using one healing ablity makes things very sluggish, hopefully the fixing of the bacta spray and bacta toss would make up for this shortfall.

D. What was your most effective method?

Most effective method found was to group with a well rounded combat group and hunt on one of the more hostile planets, purely focusing on the healing of the team without fighting while they take out non-social creatures one by one.
MedicXP only requires the need to heal one combatant once in a battle to recieve a share of the experience

2. Time:
A. How long did it take you to get your first line of medic finished?

First line of Medic, going up the Support branch took about 6-8hrs, once able to heal others efficiently, was capable to keep a group alive for more tougher missions that became available with the increased skill level. Overall, it took about 2 days work to get master medic compered to a couple hours in the old system, makes been even just a master medic something worthwhile to complete.

B. Longer/Shorter than you expected?

Longer then first expected, compared to the old system, but overall the experienced gain was satisfactory.

C. How did it compare to the time spent getting a combat line?

Combat time and experience is a lot more rapid and straight forward, given that it's possible to gain XP without the assistance or need of another person, letting one make their own choices and time spent.. Comparably more enjoyable.

Why are we getting combat XP when we have no combat skills? I'm not following this too well. Can we get xp if we are not in combat? I seriously don't understand this too well. We just sound like combat medics with out the DOTs.

Medical exp is only awarded when a mob dies. If you do not heal while your groupmates are killing a mob. You never get exp.

Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to trying out the CU. I've been around since day 1 er....2 I mean, when you had to group to kill anything. I miss those days, just glad I don't have to grind though it again....
