Thread: New Doc Buff changes
It should be just like a master dancer or musician buff and double the original stats. The quality of the buff would only affect the duration that the buff lasts. Piece o' cake, end o' story. Then it would actually matter once again what your stat mix is. *gasp!* =)
I know this isnt a popular topic but its something that needs to be addressed asap cuz the nerfbat is coming... =/

Hey guys i see loads of overly complex ideas for how doc buffs should be handled post combat revamp/nerf. Buffs and armor are getting nerfed, resistance is futile.I dont think it needs to be complex at all. Here's my 2 cents...
I don't craft buff packs, the schematics, go hunting, survey resources, or buy any resources scouring the galaxy for shops that sell what I need. So therefore I think that Doctor Buffs should be just like musician buffs. I think it's fair that mastering a profession and putting on a piece of clothing is equal to all the elements involved in crafting a buffpack. Does this make me look an idiot?
Like i said folks... I KNOW this is a touchy subject, but now is the time to start getting realistic about doctor buffs future roll in SWG...
And for the record i got a master chef in game, doctors got it made compared to the insane variety of different resources that are required in order to be a full service chef. So im all too familiar with the survey, harvester, aquiring organics hell. More so then you may realize.

Lol nice one rollask. But i think you need to read my follow-up post to the combat medics correspondents response. It addresses what you were commenting on. =)

Then perhaps the requirements to make the Buffs need to be slacked a bit so its more fair. The bottom line is that buffs at present are having too drastic and effective impact on the game, thats what im gathering from dev statements at least.
I think it's ridiculous to get incapped by level 10-15 creatures because you are not buffed or eating +skill foods. But CURRENT game this is happening. If I don't get buffed I can get wiped out by a Carrion Spat. And don't suggest it's because I don't know how to play the game. Either I wear armor and the encumbrance is so high that my bars don't regen, or Iremove myarmor and the creatures incaps mein 3-4 hits.
So i dont think the answer would be to keep them as is or better just cuz they are hard to make, thats backwards thinking. Fix them on the crafting side so that they can be balanced on the user side.
I don't believe it's backwards thinking at all... You take yourtime making something detailed and getting it correct you should be rewarded with a great product in the outcome. As far as I'm concerned buffpacks are one of the few things that are balanced with the requirements to make it. *cough*unlikeweapons*cough*
Besides guys, do you have any idea how many itens in this game are a pain in the neck to make and have no real use (ie; master architect furniture, loads of high end tailor goods, etc, etc).
Do you have any idea about crafting in this game? If you want to mass produce or sell your product Doctor/CM/BEs are the only crafting professions where you have to gain skills in another profession. They need Novice Artisan to get access to surveying and vendors. Last time I checked Arch/AS/Chef/DE/Tailor/WS didn't need any medic skills to make and sell their product. Plus, why should buffpacks be nerfed just because a couch doesn't have decay in the game??? Any architect that establishes him/herself can have non-stop business despite whether you think furniture has no purpose.
I just think folks need to look at the big picture more and focus less on them just wanting super mega leet planet shattering stats on their toon for selfish reasons.
Yes I am such anuber l337 mega-powerplayer just because I don't want to wait 2 hours to gather a group and go out to PvE each time. And I'm selfish too!!!

And you struckout with your bat IMO

Rolassk, I can see you arent willing to budge on your feelings about this. I can respect that. But you can throw numbers, examples or comparisons all you want bro, its NOT going to change the fact that buffs and armor are geting nerfed very soon. So you might as well start trying to think ahead and being constructive. You are struggling against inevitability my friend.
So you are here to rub the nose's of Docs into yet another hypothetical buff nerf?

We've lived through buff nerfs before, we'll make it again. Thanks for you comments. You can sit down now.
