Although I do not play on Ahazi...

If I am in the starport waiting for a shuttle, 95% of the time I run my ticket macro, and use this free time to get something to eat, drink, take a leak, make a phone call, etc.

Usually I come back and I am in my destination city already. I try to check out if I received any tells, and apologize for not answering...but I usually always get a "**edit** man, I was standing right there", "that's bull **edit**, you had plenty of time to buff". The list goes on.

However, I do catch a courteous response every now and then. I remember those people later...nice people get free buffs every now and then.

Honestly, and while this may not be what we should be doing, some of us get so many tells while at the starports for buffs etc. we don't even look at them anymore. Is this "the right thing to do" - well to some maybe not - but to others they are paying their 20$ a month to not respond to you/ignore you (kind of like how I am with telemarketers). Now I for one don't wear my Master Doc tag much - but others do and if they don't want to answer you - well that's their perogative.

I have heard of weaponsmiths and armorsmiths getting telled to death and sometime docs get it as well. If you send a tell to a doc asking for buffs, ask nicely, I can't stress this enough - now you might be thinking why should I be nice to this other player who I am going to give 6-12k to? Well in most cases the doctor (a master) does not need you - you need them and often when I have been "not in the mood to buff" a simple "If you have a minute could I please buy a buff off you - just let me know either way" goes a long way with me. Being polite period and/or respectful is cool too - after being told alot of the time "Buff me... heal me etc.."

Anyhow just my thoughts on the issue - maybe you have tried this - if so find a doc and make a friend sell them some avian/herbavoire meat for cheap that might work.. then again maybe not.

You are obviously talking to the wrong doctors. I can only assume you are in the vicinity of Coronet?

Too bad, Coronet has turned into a Mos Eisley in the game. A den ofscum and villiany.

I couldn't agree more. I never leave my master doc tag on anymore, and very rarely buff for money. On those mysterious occasions when I am suddenly retagged as a Master Doc and receive tells, the vast majority of people are abrupt or even downright rude, and meet with an immediate explanation of why I'm not buffing, and my tag changes.

On the other hand, when someone asks politely, I'll go out of my way to meet and buff them.

Master tags - probably the least used item in the game.

Well at least the majority of players now seem to know about doctor buffs. Took six months but finally the penny dropped -- you're not meant to play this game with 900 HAMs.

Because with the current search options I get requests for a rez in Moenia when im in the upper NW corner of the map!!! (Naboo)

and the buff requests are like spam!!! .......got AOL?

My opinion.... make friends with a doc! ...........I have friends i will travel to meet. I have taken a trip just to cure disease, for people i like.

I have been searching for a master armorsmith for a week to get a custom order.. but i dont bitch in the AS fourms

LOL, I know the feeling fellow master doctor's. I get a tell "can you buff?" I reply "can you see me?" They return "no". Well I kindly reply " then how can I buff you?" Yes, I can understand if Im standing at a starport, then usually I buff, but if Im a zillion meters away, then I cant do it.

Sending a nice /tell like "Are you available to buff?" or "Are you selling buffs today?" goes a long way. I don't play a combat character because the amount of lag I get would be almost instant death in many combat situations. You combine this lag with 7 /tells for buffs in a crowded starport and you have 30 seconds to make the ship to Dantooine, and I don't respond. I have been the target of up to 8 /tells from different people, before I was fully logged in. I also run a medical resource business and I /tells for that all the time.

Sometimes the money from buffs isn't worth the trouble. If you're rude to a Master Doctor, most keep a No Heal list, and I trade my list with other Master Doctors all over the server. If someone is rude to me, my price goes up. You're rant has just proved that maybe Doctors are not charging enough for buffs. I just wish you could turn off the Master badges in your bio because I was disguised as a Novice Medic and one person saw that I had Master Doctor and with in 10 minutes I had several people sending me /tells for buffs.

I am grinding Armorsmith for a Holo on Kauri. I figured I would grind while I sat in front of the Med Center on Naboo (Theed) and buff to make some extra money. I got the usual spam for buffs but during my crafting I needed some hide and my usual customers that I had been buffing lately were gracious enough to bring me hides for the buffs I was giving them. In fact, all but one gave them to me for free! So, I have found that not only providing a service has help my customers, but they have returned the favor ten-fold.

I try my best to answer all tells but quite frankly miss some. In one instance I have customer who hires me to be his personal doctor for a few hours and pays extremely well. So, I can craft while he fights and rez when he dies then re-buff him so he can fight some more. Works out for both of us.

This has been a fun an rewarding profession

Well ignoring the content of your tells, sometimes it is the situation of docs.

I'm pretty sure that doesn't mean anything. let me give you an example.

When I am playing as doc, doing my doc stuff like buffing or healing around the city, I go where people are.

Thats the front of spaceport in theed and cantina in theed.

I go there because thats one place everyone knows, so when they need doctor service, thats where they stay and shout for help.

And that is two place where if you blink really slow, you miss half the conversation.

As a doc, we are often in situation where our chat screen scrolls like it's running out of letters so it is very easy to miss a tell or two.

Ofcourse it could also mean that doc is grinding away in cantina

But on the brightside, he might have just put you on his ignore list do he is not even getting your tell

Anyway forall those who been tracking me down and said

"what the heck? how come you never answer your phone anymore?"

I just wanna say I meant to call right back but it's my cell you see, battery is bad and service is down alot. I really meant to call you right back. Really!

Nothing is funnier then when I am out with my guild fighting in the night sister cave for example. I see some guy go running down the cave like a bad ass and 2 seconds later I get a tell saying, can you come rez me. Watch out there are 2 elders and lots of protectors right next to me. Then I get, well are you coming.. I did not clone and do not want decay. I am like, **edit**, you came here and did not clone.. I am not the right kind of doctor to cure insanity. Eventually I drag him out and rez him, only to have him run right back at the same **edit** thing and die in 1 hit. That time he was left there crying.

My doctor tag is only showing when we are out on hunts so my guild or other people that we are grouped with know to run my way if they need a heal. We are kind of like a football team. You will see some people just come running at me and I hand off a heal.. Quite funny..

I don't usually wear my Doc tag for this reason but now with the badges there's not much sense in it. People /t me and ask for buffs my reply is simple, I am busy right now but when I am free I can, the fee is 10K. they usually wait for me or don't respond. Buffing is not my mainstay but if asked nicely I will almost always do it. I have a guy recently that pays me 30k a set and travels to me 3-4 times a day. Nice tells go a long way in this game. Just be polite and usually you can get what you want, tho with the recent influx of holo docs things can change, unfortunate, but what can you do?
