I figured out a way that would stop the tumblers and even the AFK dancer problem we all have had in the recent months/year.
All sony needs to do, is insert a little code that activates when the game is running or even just when a macro is activated.
This code will basically check to see if the users mouse has moved anywhere in the last 2-5 minutes. If it has not, the game automatically sends a /dump command thus ending the afk macro!
This would work for tumblers where after 5 minutes of no mouse movement, the tumbling would stop. For dancers, after 5 minutes of afk dancing/music they would either stop or the option to "Watch/listen" to them would not appear for people.
All sony would need to do is insert some code like this into the macro program, or to have it check all during the game
$THIS = mousecoords;
(a pause statment or count statment for 5 minutes) pause 5 minutes;
$THIS2 = mousecoords2;
If [$THIS != $THIS2]{
Send_command /dump;
}
Repeat
This way anyone using a legit macro would have to be at the keyboard actually, gasp, PLAYING the game. Anyone not at the keyboard and is able to run thier macro would have to be using a 3rd party program to move the cursor all the time, and thus get banned.
Its a simple fix that would encourage more in game participation.
For those of you that will just reply with insults, Feel free. Im satisfied in knowing that I am right and you are wrong.

If you want to stop tumblers, all you have to do is remove the HAM cost for tumbling/warcry/intimidate, that's it.

That just leads to other "tumbleeqe" methods. Such as the pet trick tumble method which just burns your action away like no tommorow.
You must actually alter the macro method and have it auto stop any macro that is not being attended to.
Like weve all said before, stop one and the players WILL find another way around it.
With this method, they wont, because if they do they will be using 3rd party programs. Unless there is some magic macro out there that actually moves your mouse for you.

True, but at least with the pet technique it requires more setting up (so it should be less common)and a higher level profession...

But its still possible. Why make it possible when you can eliminate it all together with a little code?
Of course I have NO idea what kind of code sony uses, but I can bet something this simple can be done, its a simple check.

Some of us consider it cheating. At least I do. I think medics should earn thier master title by actually healing people that need it, weather it takes a long time or not. Its the spirit of the game and profession, it shouldnt be how fast you can pump out a profession.

Ya, boo with getting on with the profession quickly. I mean, honestly, someone who heals tumblers clearly is a bad doctor and someone who doesn't is a good doctor. Seriously don't you just feel dirty knowing they want to grind doctor so they can buy meds, pvp, or buy buffs? I personally can't stand it when someone uses a game mechanism to his/her advantage...I think all doctors should go on hunting trips and heal and/or wait in the med centers to heal wounds...albeit people usually are buffed so it isn't as much of an issue but still I think all professions should take at least 2 weeks to master, be boring, and require long periods of sitting aroud waiting for customers!!!! Nerf convenience!!!

Post combat rebalance it will be impossible to tumble in the current manner since action costs will not come from the main bars.
Pet enhancement and/or macros that include combat will become the way to gain XP. Those that can arrange for a victim will level fast.
None of this addresses why people macro. People macro because they do not want to be bored, or want to get to master (or 4440 in the case of doctor) so they can do what they really want to, or pre patch 9 for holo professions. Grinding professions the old fashioned way is fine for the new player, but after the 4th or 5th profession leveling gets old in SWG. Usually people want to get to a point and then go do something, the getting there is just not rewarding or interesting in SWG. These are not levels, and for many professions you can only be effective at master (ie most crafting professions).
Of course there will be always those that do not like people who find a way to level faster than they did. My suggestion is get over it. It took me weeks to master architect at release. Days for the second one, and now it can be done in a few hours. I do not let that bother me, good for those that figured out about Gungan heads. That is the way it is, over time people improve or find techniques that speed things up.
Oh and your mouse trick? Easily bypassed with third party software since there is no way to tell if the mouse moves, or software pretends the mouse moves. Heck a little ingenuity and you could easily devise a mechanical mechanism that would be completely undetectable with software.
One of the reasons SWG has such a rich macro system is because the developers, many of them from UO knew if they did not implement it someone else would outside the game, EULA or not. The in game macro system in SWG is why there is not more widespread use of 3rd party macro tools.
As long as there are tedious things to do in games people are going to find ways to relieve the tedium. The real solution is to give players a reason not to macro. Make the journey part of the fun. Unfortunately in SWG as in most MMOG though it is the destination that is all that matters.

Well, sine this code would make it so the only way to continuously macro would be TO USE 3rd party macros, people would know exactly who is breaking the rules or not and will be suspended much easier. You cant fake it with this code.

And how, do you propose, your ingenious code would know if it were a 3rd party macro controlling the mouse movement or a fleshy 98.6 degree hand?
