Its a pretty good idea. We've got 1 buffshack that i know about on sunrunner and peeps are always visiting because you know exactly where to go for a short buffline. He made 20 mill in 2 weeks, so its safe to say alot of people appreciate his service. The dancer/musician buffbot thats in the same house is a big appeal too .

When does the funny bit come? Or can somone point it out to me? Good on him I say, he's not the first and certainly won't be the last to setup his own buff shack.

I am not trying to sound negative at ALL, but I didn't really understand the highlighted parts.

However the other's are right, autobuffers are a way of life. As a non doc on Shadowfire I ALWAYS used my guild autobuffer as it was convenient, little waiting, and didn't have to worry about engaging in combat on my way to a doc, (before we got the shuttle that is)...

All bots are usefull, but they will be removed. What do you do when your car breaks down or runs out of gas on the highway? You walk. What do you do when you want to go hunting and there are no docs around, you do something else. No entertainer buffbots? get brandy and canape!

Recurring macros are now such a big part of this game, it's ridiculous. They are nice and all, but removing them will make the game much more interractive and fun. There are macros for everything now, Doc, surveying, looting, buffing, getting senses XP for Jedi and there is even one for soloing elders, i mean come on, where does it stop? Do you want to play starwars galaxies or watch a video of starwars galaxies...

Videogames are fun because you interract, you have to be fast with your fingers on the gamepad and you actually do something. SWG is getting more and more boring because people always find new things to do while AFK.

That's just my idea of the game ...

Personally speaking, I have better things to do with my time than to stand around watching my master dancer dance the night away for other people's buffing needs. I don't find that part of the game entertaining. Similarly, I find sitting at a starport on my master doctor buffing people to be the dullest thing in the game. You get little to no conversation with people and no game playing. I would much rather be out having fun and actually playing the game. I used to be able to make enough money to buff myself and have general fun by running missions, but that has been nerfed, so as soon as my money runs out I will be resigned to sitting in the starport again. However, if I can work out how to make a macro and run a buff shack when I'm not there to make some money then I most certainly will.

Not only will that enhance my gaming experience because I will finally have the money to buy the good weapons and armor that I want, but also it will allow people to enjoy the game a little bit more as well. Buffs, at least on Intrepid, are becoming increasingly hard to come by and if you know that you can always getthem from a particular place then you know you can go out and fight whenever you want to.

I don't like having to wonder where I am going to get my buffs from and I don't like having to shuttle from planet to planet to find them (which is why I became a master doc myself) and I think that if something can be done to make it easier I say go for it. I'm all about convenience!

I fail to see the humor in it. When the lines are backed up in Coronet, you might as well be dealing with an AFK MD, as he/she is hurrying to get to the next customer. And at 5am, good luck finding an ATK MD to buff you anyway.

I have an extensive list of MD's in my friends who usually answer with "I'm doing something else" when I /tell to see if they're buffing. So, while there are some (I doubt majority) folks who frown upon AFK buffing, grinders like me really appreciate it. The ATKers still have an advantage, in that they carry a better guarantee of their bot being fully charged, and can readily resupply when they are low on enhancements.

I don't see any of your posts berading AFK Musicians or Entertainers....

Hopefully once the patch comes in that speeds up the buffing process, some of this may become not as relavent, at least where the long lines are concerned...

My take on buffbots..........stupid. Really stupid, and I'll never do one, and especially not advertise it, if I did.

First of all, if doc is so boring, why the heck did you go for it? Money, that's all. Buffbots and macros aren't 'playing the game'. As far as I'm concerned, if you spent the time and money to become Doc, then play doc, don't let some script do it for you.

Secondly, advertising a buff bot that undercuts every working doc on the server is totally uncool. I charge 10k usually, unless it's a really high buff stat, so advertising 8k is just plain wrong. Why would people come to me for a buff, when they can fly to a buffbot and get it cheaper? Not good, and unfair to those of us who actually play the game.

Thirdly, there's so many problems with buffbots. For example, what if you crash in the middle of a buff, your macro screws up (they frequently do, even carefully crafted ones), or a player you're buffing crashes? I've watched Eclipse's lone buffbot get hammered every night for a refund, but since nobody is actually at that computer, the guy who lost half his buff is out 12-15k, depending on what the bot is charging. There's too many variables to make a macro foolproof.

Finally, most guilds don't charge guildies for buffs, or if they do, it's cost only. Making a profit off your guildies and friends is dumb. Sure, I'll take a tip if they want, but my guild knows I'll buff them for free now. Was half-price for awhile, while I was building up some money, but free now.

Dude, if you hate doc so much, then give it up, become another profession. I know on Eclipse we have a shortage of docs to do not only buffs, but healing as well. Unless you're TKM, a buffbot ain't gonna do you any good for wound heals.

I'll be glad when they nerf the bot macros, there's no need for them, they hurt the game economy, and hurt other players that might not have guild docs, might have to play at 2am when there's nobody else on, or just want a heal, not a buff. PLAY DOC, don't let the game do it for you, that's lame.
