Thread: How's TKM/Doc for pvp these days?

HI doc forum peeps
Just reactivated my account after taking a break when the CU came along.
It wasn't the best pvp template before the CURB but it was fun to play, now I'm going to log onto a game I don't know and I'm wondering will I be any use? (I'm assuming I'll be CL80 so my "HAM" or whatever will be quite high). I like a bit of pve occasionally but since there's no more crafting it'll mostly be for pvp'ing with friends.
I'm reading as many threads as I can but can't find any helpful post-CURB Doc/TKM ones. Any links/tips would be greatly appreciated.
OMFG what have I let myself in for?

It's great, I'm a Doc/TKM now and its not only fun, its very effective in PvP, just make sure you have a CoB macro running and since your TKM you may want to get somehealing efficiencyand unarmed damage enhancing clothes, you should have no problem in PvP just make sure you keep yourself healed

it sucks, i was a TKM/DOC and after you think about it TKM armor just doesnt' cut it. armor is already being crafted better then inate armor. so i switched to fencer. i'm waaaay more happy. TKM was nerfed to bad. maybe if they fix the weapons....increase innate armor...then just maybe

I like it, some people just can't play it and should use their respec token. I have NO problems what-so-ever with my MTK/MD/0004Sword template and I've tanked 4 Jedi at once in the middle of a 40v40 fight.

Sounds like a challenge to me hmmmmm.
What's the plan of attack generally, specials etc???

It's great. I stalemated a Level 80 fighter at CL62 last night with just some TK , some doc, and master Brawler.
- I haven't dueled since I mastered TK, but last night I was tanking 8 CL81 Pickets for several minutes with impunity so... once I master Doc I'll have to try a duel.

go tkm , doctor 4004 or doc 4000 and take another melee , pikeman is good if you want to tank , swordsman is good if you want to pummel someones face in

- I think you severely underestimate the power of Parry Reposte Stance. Some say it doesn't last long enough, but that's what has to be done to balance it.
- I mean geez... when you've got 8 creatures hitting you for ~100 damage a turn... and you can completely negate all of that damage on several of them... it's sinister.

You're on Tenshi,I think we play different timezones, but we'll bump into each other soon.I can't believe you gave up pistols. I always loved masterpistioleer despite all the people saying it sucked, I thought it was the most fun prof of all time.
Problem is I'm gonna have to relearn the whole thing, too used to combat queues and old style buffs/meds/foods/spices. So there's not even an autoattack anymore?????
I think I've got a lot to learn....

There's more than one server. 
I hada toon on Eclipse I had unfinished from over a year ago... so the past few days I've been power-leveling her.

I suggest getting 0100 tk and getting another melee profession and here is why. All of teras kasi's moves are very low damaging and they have only one good weapon (katarn knuckler) which isnt that great. The only good thing in TK is improved center which you can get 1 box into the profession. Currently you can get armor with 6400 resist against energy AND kinetic (at least on ahazi). Teras kasi armor is only 6k resist vs all. If you master swordsman for example, you get a very high damaging array of weapons of different damage types and great moves such as Critical strike.
Just my 2 cents hehe

6k resists is all you need. I seem to recall hearing that improved CoB gives you 4k more resists, putting you at 10k which is the max you can have.
Im not armorsmith or anything though, that's just what i heard.

I think imp cob gives you 500 melee defence, reducing the damage you take by alot.
