Thread: Anyone start a hospital yet?

Looking for more information how to start one, run one, what does it come with, how to make it better, etc. Does the hospital have a medical bonus according to the materials used by the architect? Does the structure come with beds and other stuff? Do I have to buy all the furniture? Is there only 1 type? What are the options at the terminal? Any info would be great.

I dont know all the answers, but I can take a guess at a lot of them:

To start one, you have to be either a master CM or a master Doc.

Does the hospital have a medical bonus according to the materials used by the architect?

No, not based on the architect. If the Current Mayor has the Civic Policy III skill, then there is a 10% boost while in the medical Center

Does the structure come with beds and other stuff? Do I have to buy all the furniture?

No, all furnishings must be provided, just like any other building

Is there only 1 type?

I dunno, I only saw the ones on Correllia while on Test Center, but I assume there is a different version for Tat and Naboo

What are the options at the terminal?

Cant help you there

Also, hospitals require a minimum city level and that the Mayor can zone for it. This means it'll be 3 or 4 weeks at a minimum before you see one.

Hospitals require a Class III city, which is a minimum of 30 people.

Anyone know the lot requirements?

Hospitals take up 3 lots. Kinda strange I think since we need lots for harvesters too.

Yeah, it really bugs me that it takes lots...3 of them too -_- I guess they did that to prevent lots of them from popping up possibly, but considering that it will probably add alot to maintenance per week, why not go for the extra credit drain (from the dev's point of view )

It'd be nice to at least see it reduced down to 2 lots...unless the doctors/CMs who place them can pretty much use them as a house additionally, then I'd be all for switching to a bigger and much more functional 'house"

Actually 3 lots isn't so bad considering the lot/item ratio of 1:75 with a cap of 250. The total items allowed in the unit is 225, just 25 items short of a large house. I'd trade in the my large house for one of these.

Does anyone know if you can declare residency in the hospital building you own?

How about charging for entry? Can this be done?

While 3 lots is pretty bad, the chefs have it worse...they have to have so many more harvestors than we do (my other character is a chef) and a cantina costs 6 lots for them. Needless to say my chef won't be dropping a cantina.

Not sure about all the particulars myself, other than to confirm the city needs to be a level three.

We have a hospital ready for me to place the moment we have reached level three in Minos ( near the maze on Tattooine, Tarquinas server). Our master architect had it ready for me late last week so it'd be ready to go down ASAP.

Once it's up and running, I'll put a post with the WP.

This is my thinking as well. Additionally, it makes perfect sense as a location for medical related vendors. Once cities have mission terminals, you can probably do reasonable business in things like woundpacks and stimpacks even when you aren't on.
