Thread: adrenaline boost not wanted?

has anyone else been getting this? last night i was in a full group, healing and keeping everyone buffed and AB on everyone when a groupmate told me to stop giving him adrenaline boost becuase it was sucking all of his action. I told him yeah but its increasing your attack rate ,your DPS. He told me in a long fight against multiple mobs adrenaline boost can get him killed. I watched his action with AB and without and he was right it was plumetting much faster with AB on. After this i asked "anyone else not want AB?" and 3 more people asked me not to give it to them. Kind of disapointing as i thought this was the best thing a master doc could contribute. with me i always fight with AB on but i dont use as much action as some classes. High action classes do not like it it seems. From now on I'll always ask first

Yup I am in a guild with many Jedi, and its split down the middle on this. The force speed they have mixed with our adrenal will kill them in pve. In pvp its a toss up , but I have a macro with adrenal and one without. I always ask. Its a safe bet ANY non-jedi always want the adrenal as do paddies and non-full temp jedi. However, most full template jedi Do not want the adrenal boosts.

Depends on the SAC of the weapon in question. Sometimes faster is not always better. Of course, this really only would affect people who use macros of some form.... Since I use no macros or auto-attacks, my actions during battle are dictated completely by myself alone.

Yup I've seen this also. I don't think it's so much that they don't *want* it....I think it's more that they are not use to it. A lot of people are still in the "Spam = Better" mentality, so honestly it's their lose.
However I've gotten in the habit of only using Adren. only when I feel the group is going slow (timed event stuff) or when we are going up a hard to kill mob.
Adren really isn't something that needs to be on 24/7, but when it's there, and you need to use it boy, oh boy does it make a difference.

When sitting by waiting for one of our snipers to take out a turret... I was like ... Geez... this is taking forever. Then I realized... hey, he doesn't have a Speed buff... so I buffed him, and he was shooting faster, and I was like "Yay!"

It all depends on the weapon, your profession and the mob you're fighting. Sometimes its helpful, sometimes its harmful.

Like others said, it depends on the patient's SAC. My pistol is 67 un pup'd. with a pup it goes down to 47. When I adren boost myself, i tear people to shreds.

im TKM/Doc and adren boost does make my action go down quicker but all i seu it for is melle strike and knockdown but i like being able to attack faster and the nto wanting to have it thing is stupid tkae some food or soemthing to keep your action reg up or soemthing tis that simple

Same here.
AB is deadly in the right hands, in the wrong hands it can be fatal.

AB can be deadly even to people who know what they're doing
When I had my ranged template (MBH/MPistoleer/MMarksman/FS Ranged Speed/Acc 4), I already was fast as hell and damagedealing was the main purpose of this template, but my action went down way too fast even with a 75 SAC pistol. Main problem on an empty action pool back then was that I always pulled the mobs in hunting groups, tanked them and dealt damage at the same time (loved that "Utility" Icon ), but it's hard to do that when you can't shoot.
), but it's hard to do that when you can't shoot. So, some classes ARE more efficient (primarily depending on the player and his style) withoutthat buff.
Just my 2 cents.

I love the fact that I can buff myself with adrenaline buff. Between AB, endorphines, my high AR regen blob candy, booster blue, and my 700-1200 damage bowcaster pu'ed with a stock to 73 SAC, I can spam ranged shot/placed shot all day at a rediculous rate without losing any action. In fact, I can actually regen action between the occasion startleshot, or kneeshot.

To get the most out of AB you need a SAC capped pistol, 65 SAC and then use Reinforced Stock powerups to take it down under 50.

AB doesn't make your moves cost more sac, does it? If that's the case then you don't have to spam moves you can just pause in between each move and be at the speed you'd normally be at. If you got into a situation where you wanna action dump then you can do it faster than before. As a tkm with knuckles of the katarn pup'd to 53 sac I'm in love with AB and never fight without it. While in groups my action barely goes down for each mob so I can spam all I want and in pvp my speed, sac management, and strength is deadly. Most ppl can only get about 2 hits on a kd person while I can get 3-4 so people are either dead or hurting real bad by the time they get up (lol this is how I beat those high-and-mighty mcms).
