Thread: Buff nerf...is it going to happen? Can DEVS respond to this please

Is there going to be a buff nerf? Everyone is unsure but until a Dev says there isn't going to be one, its very likely there will be one and crash buff prices down down a max of 80k per set even for the very high power ones, this goes with bringing all servers economy down and it makes sense

And the Devs can'trespond to you or to anyone else right now becausealpha testing haven't even startyet!

Yeah its going to happen buffs will no longer be in demand at all after the CU, sojust sell me all your resources and 12pt suit.

All this buff nerf junk is just rumors, don't believe a word of anything about the CU except what the Devs tell you.

No one knows what is going to happen. People just have guesses and theories. Devs will not respond to this, because they are not going to release profession specific data about the CU until they are ready.

The devs haven't said that Chefs won't be limited to making one food that DECREASES al your stats by 800 for 6 hours and is 90% filling so it's likely that they will? They also haven't said that Imperials won't be able to reach the rank of Grand Moff, and once at that rank won't be able to destroy entire planets, or that all speeders won't require tune-ups every 200 meters, or that all player's bank accounts won't be reset to 200 credits, so all these things must be true. Right?
Look, I'm not trying to pick on you.But , if you're going to use that kind of logic to justify panicing over buffs, why aren't you panicing over a bunch of other things that the devs haven't said?

OMG repair speeders with tune-ups every 200 meters?!?!?!?! I'm quitting this game and calling the police to report SOE for stealing my time, and I will never buy Sony again omg omg omg omg.

I agree, it makes no sense to have the mindset of "if the Devs don't say it won't be so, then it's very likely it will be."
By this rationale, all Rebels will become Imperials and vice versa upon Publish 15, unless the Devs say it won't happen.
I'm in the Combat Upgrade Alpha. We're all stuck in a non-disclosure agreement, so legally we can say nothing about what we've been told regarding the CU. So, if anyone makes out like they know what the deal is, either they like to get kicked out of the game, or they're full of hot air.
My advice - relax. Play the game. The changes you might be worried about will be announced. But now is not the time to panic about anything - it's waaaaay too early to do that.

just think of it this way, lowering the buff demand will increase doctor demand in general grouphunting

To be honest who really cares what the Devs do to buffs. I include the following Principle of Supply and Demand
1. Supply: Doc's will still be the only class able to apply buffs.
2. Demand: for Doc buffs will stay the same. No matter what the Devs impose as the max stats, people are still going to want a good set of high quality buffs no matter what those stats actually are.
3.Supply and demand will set the price for buffs. I don't see the demand for high quality buffs dropping....ever....regardless of what the actual stats of the buffs are. The number of docs providing the buffing services will stay relatively constant (or even drop if people get mad about the nurf and change professions). So with supply and demand staying constant before and after the nurf (IF it happens) there should be no radical change in the price of buffs.
AS LONG AS DOC'S DON'T BE STUPID AND DROP THE PRICES BY THEIR OWN ACTIONS!!!!!!!
So don't be stupid and everything will work out just fine.

... do you really think they pay the devs to actually make the game worse?...or more unfair? ...or more 'un-Star Wars'. Sounds to me like some of us need to get back the basics, like why we chose this profession in the first place.

if you are in this for the creds , well, go buff yourself and grind out artisan or something.....
