Thread: Doctor's Blacklist

Maybe someone has already posted this idea, but has anyone given any thought to creating a Doc's Blacklist? A list of names of people who are just so low down and dirty that they shouldn't be buffed at all. You know, the type of person who faction sniffs, or waits for a doc to get a flag accidentally, and then proceeds to kill, db him, and destroy his medical droid---all while the doc has like 20 people in line waiting for a buff! I have heard of it happening. Not only does it affect the Doctor, but it really pisses everyone in line off. And, lets face it, there aren't that many consequences for doing something like that--The offender can always go to another doctor. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the PVP.... but a doctor sitting there buffing both factions should not be a target. And yes, I know, NO OVERTS... OVERTS WILL NOT BE BUFFED.. I know how that goes, but when you have been buffing all night, every now and again, one slips past.

I'm not saying we need you unionize, or anything like that, although that could be fun. Or aDoctor'sguild? But we definitely, in my opinion could use a list, which would have to be server specific, but I know I would never buff someone who had done something like that had I heard of it.

And, if people know they will get banned by other doctors, if they act like a total choad, then maybe they wouldn't do it anymore.

This list shouldn't be for people who are annoying in line, because lets face it... 50, no 70% of the players can be very annoying in line. In order to protect the list from being abused, maybe there would need to be a witness who posts confirming the infraction.

Anyways, just a thought... if someone has already posted it, ignore this diatribe. Otherwise, flame away.

Good concept but it's nearly impossible to implement. Just as there are TEF hunters, and jerks who try to grief docs as much as possible, there are Doctors who are jerks and take high offense to even the slightest hint of wrongdoing, or perceive everything/everyone as "omg they're greifing me.". This definitely goes both ways.

Im a doc...

I kill tef'd overt docs if i see them..

It is a war, If you walk into coronet or your servers busy city -- you shoot red.. you deathblow red and you patrol the city.

I do have a blacklist of trator Imperials -- I am a well known merchant and pa leader to so my blacklist goes in many directions.. and is shared with many others...

But killing a doctor -- for a TEF I do not believe needs to go on a blacklist -- Just dont heal or buff Overts...

this is probably a dumb question, but how are you able to buff overts? I'm neutral and everytime i try i get the "it would be unwise to heal such a person" message. is there a way around that?

I kill every red dot I see. Combatant, doc, entertainer, crafter, and cub scout.

If you join a side in a war, you assume the risk. You are responsible for making sure you don't get a TEF, or for buffing in private if you do.

I am a doc too, and this is not a problem for me because I pay attention to whom I buff.

Every time I log in I'm terrified they changed the game to Dance Dance Revolution without telling anyone after holding a "focus group"

I see your point. But, C'mon.. to destroy the droid? That's pretty low. If you are truly neutral, does it prevent you from buffing someone who is overt? Because I've gotten a flag, and never have gotten any kind of warning.

It's certainly your right to kill whoever you are able to, but in the same spirit, it's my right to refuse service to anyone I chose. And believe my, I've got a list of every single person that's killed my while I was buffing (hmm, what are the odds, they're all rifleman. Hmm).

Of course, my list includes anyone who's ever tumbled, or spammed while I was trying to read what someone wrote (actually, that's more the /addignore list, but it really amounts to the same thing, I just dont get to tell them to piss off).

I was selling buffs for the first time in probably over 3 months. My alt hasNO combat skills, got a TEF without noticing, and got incapped and DB'd. So I cloned and left at least 10 people standing in line because someone was a jerk. Oh well, I don't give a crap. That's why I don't sell buffs. I will now let someone scream and cry for buffs while I buff myself or guildies and they can eat crap and die.

Personally I find it is a great way to WTFPWN some newbs. I am TKM and have thoroughly destroyed the last 2 who tried. The one time I had a fight I wasn't winning one of my Dark Jedi guildies showed up and made a point. Griefers exist, and no black list will stop them. It is like loosing your wallet at the theatre, you just gotta get on with life even though you know you made some punk kid happy.

I have my own personal black list. I share it with my friends as they share theirs with me. That is the extent of it. I can't see it going any further than that, lists are formed on the opinion of the person making it, kinda hard to enforce those criteria on an entire profession. I have banned entire rebel guilds due to the actions of one person, heck some imperial ones too. I just use the good ol' /notepad, enter the person's name and crime. Copy and paste to any reply to a person requesting buffs from that guild. I will tend wounds of anyone but that is the extent of my services
