Below are a list of changes made in Publish 8 that will effect the quality of game play:

  • Reduced the wait time on shuttle ports to 5 minutes (Starports are still 10 minutes).

  • NPC’s should now use special attacks in combat again (such as Nightsisters using the Force)
  • Fixed a bug commonly referred to as the “armor hole”
  • Changed some profession titles to remove redundant or inconsistent names
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the Tusken Robe and Helmet from dropping. (Correspondent Issue)
  • Changed references from "coins" during group looting to "credits".
  • Exploring the Talusian Aqualish Cave will now grant the correct exploration badge
  • Fixed issue with players not being able to accept missions from some mission terminals
  • Added hooded dress for Trandoshan females

  • Vehicles will no longer auto-heal when left out and stored after a player has taken a transport to another location.

  • Image Designer Tent: The Image Designers are moving into the galaxy! Image Designers now have professional tents in Theed, Moenia, Coronet, Bestine and Vreni Island. Look to see them have additional features for the Image Designer Mini Publish.
  • Art : Made Stormtrooper black palette color darker
  • Art : Fixed an issue with some polygons on twilek and human faces lighting incorrectly
  • Art : Made fixes to Ubese jacket mesh
  • Art : Fixed hood issues on Grand Healer's Robe for Humans, Twilek and Mon Calamari (Correspondent Issue)
  • Art : Fixed seam on Bantha mount
  • GUI: Fix HAM bar to reflect increased (buffed) maximum attributes.
  • GUI: Door/camera interaction: the camera now maintains its distance behind a player when walking through a doorway when the camera has line of sight to the player.
  • GUI: Fixed a problem with power of cure dot medicines not being displayed.
  • GUI: Fixed a problem with the examination of armor components which would prevent it from showing health encumbrance.
  • Player Structures:Door visuals: the player now keeps a door open when within range of the door but not moving.
  • Player Structures: Tatooine player garage ramp edge fixed: both sides now crossable

  • If a Bounty Hunter with a Jedi bounty mission is incapacitated by the Jedi, the Jedi loses his Bounty Hunter enemy flag.

  • Fixed performance buffs to add buff amount to current value instead of just maximum value.

  • Tweak to Jedi Bounty Hunter TEF clearing. There is a 30 second wait before the TEFs are cleared giving the Jedi a moment to perform a deathblow if he/she so desires.

  • Fixed problem with dodge; dodge no longer stops Pistoleer from running while in combat (Correspondent Issue)

  • Fixed a problem where traps could not be thrown indoors.

The Jedi/BH fixes are needed, but there are some more important ones that could be added to the patch, like stopping 20 BH's being able to each kill the same Jedi one after the other :/ BH missions taken from the same "visibility trigger" period should all be incomplete for all BH's but the one that landed the deathblow.
As it is now, you get a number of BH's after a Jedi, with them camping clone centers so they can kill teh Jedi as soon as he clones if another gets him. In addition, 3 incap deaths do not make a mission complete for a BH, or make any others incomplete. I know these are likely to be fixed in P9, but thats still quite a while to wait.
That said, any fix is welcomed.

Dodge fix & armour hole fixes are very welcome. For those with dodge, stopping every time you dodge is a royal pain, often meaning you cannot escape a target shooting you.
The armour hole is something that will benefit all players in PvP and PvE

Biggest problem I've had this week is the following:

a) Get on the BH terminals. Ok that fine, I was doing something that added visibility.

b) Eventually get killed by a BH group. In this case a Rifleman got me, and I was grouped with another Jedi - I think the other Jedi had a mission on him.

c) In the ensuing battle, I died, but other BH had a mission on me. I had friends scout the clone center, and BH send me tells 'nudging' me about location etc, since I'm usually one to fight a BH mission. I told them I was dead and on the ground. They did not believe me. I WAS dead and on the ground

d) My name was still on the BH terminals, though I was dead on the ground. Not only did folks have active mission for me, but I was still on the terminals. I sent a doc to try and rez me, but the timer had run out- so I could only clone at the closest startport. And my friends were watching BH both send out droids, zone in and basically these folks had no idea I was dead, on the ground.

What can you possibly do to resolve such a situation? I could not log out, I could not rez, I could not clone (since a BH who did not know I was dead would just zone in , see me and start shooting).

I had quite a few witnesses to that evenings event. I had to basically wait 30 minutes for the BH to get out in the field, get setup to ninja buff my jedi, get on a bike, zip off the far reaches and log out. I was given /tells after I logged out saying folks were right behind me.

Sooo..... the net result is: Current BH/Jedi missions still have some pretty serious game breaking issues. When a Jedi dies/is dead, there should be a command to have them clear missions and terminals on them to avoid griefing. There are too many ways to exploit the system as many BH bring a rifleman or combat medic with them now, who often get overzealous and do the death blow- which does not complete the mission.

Please consider.

You did it again TH (i reported this on the TC pub notes thread) - some of the items in that list are already live and have gone in with the mini pubs and or hotfixes.

TH, honestly, you were so very close to having made one of the greatest, if not the greatest, change of all time to this game. You fell short however... and I am very saddened by it. I have tried to bring up a full tally on the 51 page post to show that the public wanted the STARport wait times to be 5 minutes, however time has prevented me from counting every post in that thread. The pages that I did cover showed an overwhelming support of lower STARport times. I realize you ran the thread to find out if lower STARport times and direct-connect STARport routes would ruin immersion. I realize that it was pretty split on the STARport routes... what I fail to see in that long thread is where we didn't voice that we wanted lower STARport times. I think 5 minutes is a good medium to meet on this. What does lowering the time hurt? NOTHING. Is there any chance at all you can possibly reconsider your position on this? This 10 minute wait is not immersion. It is not fun.

Now, before I continue on... I know you posted that you guys had a plan for fixes to this horrible time sink. However, the downside to (what I think was a very cool idea) is that it won't be available until what was it... Publish 11 or 12 - the GCW Publish. This is about 3+ months away. Is there any chance you can give us the 5 minute STARport times that so many of us have longed and waited for? I hate wasting time when I could be playing... and standing at the STARport waiting 10 minutes is just not fun at all. It isn't immersion. Immersion would be if I were actually playing... but standing around does not immerse me at all.

All I ask is that you please reconsider. At least let us know you've heard our pleas for lower STARport times. Which I know you have... why else would you have made the post about the ideas for the GCW patch? All I would like to know is... what in the mean time? Why must we continue to wait 10 minutes? Is it a technical issue?? Please rid us of this time sink. You are our only hope!!!

Thank you for your time.

Shuttle times down to 5 min SUPER,

Starport time still 10 min

That's about the biggest, and alost only thing that effects me this publish. im sure some of the other issues are

of bigger importance to a majority of players, that is to say i'm proably in the minority here.

51 pages on the In-Development thread in favor of lower STARport times would say that you are definitely NOT in the minority. You are in the majority in your thinking of lower STARport times! We deserve 5 minute STARport times!

I will repost this post since it reflects my ideas. I hope others do the same.

TH,

Ten minutes at starport this is a big dissapointment due to I'm sick of waiting on shuttles and getting spamm'd to death while having to sit through some of these jokers who thing their funny by doing stupid jokes ,swearing in the starport, while doing any trick to try and ruin someones fun. Thanks, really going to continue to enjoy this. Currently starports are the worst place in swg for the star warsy feel.

If this is really the case than I BEG you please reduce decay rates. THE SECOND I pull my vehicle out it automatically takes -50hp. By the time I log that day its its usally 1/4 to 1/3 of it's maximum HP. I sincerely hope this isn't the way you designed it. Do we really have to pay 5k credits a day just to use our vehicles?!

I can't thank you enough for this! Finally, this evil bug has been around forever!

Thunderheart wrote:

This is a step in the right direction. But I must say it's still too long in my opinion. 10 minutes is way too long for Starports, why can't it be changed like Shuttleports? Shuttle waits have been bothering me ever since Beta, but no one listened to me then either. When I heard you were going to reduce wait times I nearly hit the ceiling, but once I saw that Starports are still 10 minutes I was really disappointed.

This new fix will help Bounty Hunters out A LOT, but what about the artisans? My other characters is a Master Armorsmith, and I'm constantly having to jump from planet to planet in search of resources, checking harvesters, checking vendors, etc. I probably use a starport roughly 5-10 times a day. And I usuallly spend anywhere from 30 minutes to an Hour waiting on shuttles DAILY. This is no way to spend your time playing a game, especially when there's fat naked male dancers who dance right in front of the ticket droid all day almost everyday (Coronet - Starsider. Seriously, It's disturbing.) Anyways, I think a possible solution to this would be to make all starports "Spaceports" like the one in Theed. This would really make the game a lot more fun & less frustrating.
