Continuing the loot system changes will include the rebirth of the Junk Dealer. As part of this change, Junk Dealers will have more robust conversations, be willing to buy all different types of NPC loot drops and become a new source of income for players. Player will now be able to go adventuring, collect the various loot drops from NPC’s, adventures and dungeons and take it to a Junk Dealer to sell. Junk Dealers won’t buy just any junk either. Different dealers will specialize in different kinds of junk, so players will have to explore and find out which dealer deals in which kind of junk. Be sure to talk to the various Junk Dealers to find out which junk they like the most! fficeffice" />

Were you able to sell “junk” to the Junk dealer?

What were your experiences?

Ok, honestly **edit**. I just dont get enough "junk" to see this being useful. I should add though that i have not tried it yet, so who knows maybe the new junk dealers are buying broken vid-screens for 20k, LOL. Was this meant to be a way for players to actually make money, or was it an incentive for "pack-rats" and noobs to get rid of their piles of junk??........anyway, i like the concept.......im gonna go fishing as soon asI log in and try to sell the first piece of rubbish i catch...

Used one Junk Vendor in Mos Entha, offering to buy junk clothing. For what he's offering me in credits it's easier if I just destroy the usless item rather than spend my time searching for the appropriate junk vendor to sell to.

I can understand this is not supposed to be a money making venture selling junk, but then what is the real purpose of the Junk Vendors? Adds flavor to the game, potentially usefull to starting players if they could buy junk.

Really easy to put an item on the bazaar and sell for [x] amount more than what a junk vendor is offering, and I can access a bazaar anywhere with little effort.

Too much of a hastle for not much of a reward.

To remember which junk dealer wants what junk, then find that junk is just a laborious process that overall, I'd rather kill gnorts for XP than go trash collecting.

No, it needs testing, constructive suggestions and tweaking.

By the way, anyone know where the Jawa junk dealers are located?

Maybe if there was a "Quest Logbook" added to the datapad with the junk dealers info logged into it the first time we talked to them? And this logbook could hold info for any quest we are given, too.

This sums it up nicely.

If I want robust conversations with a junk dealer, I'll talk to my tv screen during Sanford and Son reruns.

Seriously, if the devs would tell us what they were trying to accomplish here then we could give them some feedback on how the system might be improved. Is it solely a way for new players to sell the broken loot they get off low level humanoid mobs for small amounts of starting money? I'm open to other suggestions, but that is the only one I've seen thusfar.

Yup, waste of time and effort by the Devs. None of the players asked for this, who knows why they're doing this instead of fixing real issues...

How about junk dealers offer prices going progressively higher or lower based on supply? If no one offers item (x) to a dealer, the dealer starts offering more and more and more to the lucky person who does. The game, then, can balance itself in terms of rewards.

wow... you guys are harsh. Some people aren't powergamers... I don't know of any personally, but I've heard they exist... like big foot and martians.

Even casual players understand that paying 500 credits for a roundtrip ticket to sell NONSTACKABLE LOOT to a junk vendor for 100 credits is a bad idea. There's no other 'reward' from a Junk vendor than a few crappy credits. They don't sell 'junk' items (which could be treasure or decoration), they don't offer quests based on the junk loot you offer them and they don't pay more money that the shuttle ticket it would take to reach them.

1) Junk loot isn't stackable, amassing enough of one type (and not filling up your pack)to pay for the ticket isnot economicalfor newbies, they can make more money (1000+ creds) off an easy mission.

2) Talking to an NPC is more rewarding when there's an actual goal, even if the payout isn't that good. Sure you only get a few hundred credits from a QUEST npc (except Tatooine/Dantooine), but there's more to quests that just the money, a junk dealer is just money.

Did this add anything to the atmosphere? Only if you like standing in one place talking to a NPC that doesn't offer anything meaningful. Credits for junk.. If you wanna clean out yourpack, there's the bazaar or the destroy option.
