I put a very small tid-bit about the Space Expansion beta in there to make it more exciting.
I can let you know now that we will have a couple stages of beta later this year for the Space Expansion. Preference will be given to players who attend Fan Fest and then to our veteran community (those who have had active accounts for at least 6 months).

Does this mean you'll be able to subsidize really good food for the people who show up vs all the people who will sign up only to get into beta?
Q, in your letter you say that people that attend the fan fest will be given priority to the space expansion beta, i think this is not fair to the loyal veterans who have struggled through the hard SWG days to stick around to today, i was originally part of phase 1 of the SWG:ED beta,i wish i could go to the fan fest, but i cant
and thisbetatheory for the expansionmay seem un-fair to a few and a lot don't care, but oh well just voicing my opinion.

shotoyan, the space expansion will have a lot of different code than the regular game until we are ready for final integration (- meaning, the purpose of TC is to test changes for the live game and adding the SE before it is live may invalidate some of the testing for live stuff). That isn't to say we may not do that in the final phase of beta testing; that is still to be determined.
The comments in my letter were for the first few stages of beta testing where we will have a limited number of slots. We need to build load over time. Opening the flood gates in the first external test isn't desirable.
Good point. When I read your letter it did not occur to me that theres a lot to the SE that will take more than themonthlypublish-cycle time to test, and presumably the majority of it can be tested separate from the current game (i'm assuming at least the early phases of the beta will not have the on-planet play that the current game has). Funny how the obvious sometimes doesn't cross your mind ![]()
Well I'm really looking forward to it now. I was part of the SWG beta community, a part of TC, and I hope to be part of the SE beta community (understatement of the year:smileywink![]()
