Awww Q, now I gotta do a criticizing style post





This also involves setting up the Beta program for the expansion. I can let you know now that we will have a couple stages of beta later this year for the Space Expansion. Preference will be given to players who attend Fan Fest and then to our veteran community (those who have had active accounts for at least 6 months). Eventually we will let more people into it, including some people who have never played SWG, but our first slots will be for our most avid supporters.





The preference going to those headed to Fan Fest might be a big draw, but we also know this is going to be a Beta, not to mention it excludes *for a period of time* those that could not attend for various reasons. Remeber back to Beta 1, how selective you guys were, knowing you wanted a certain style of feedback.... this would be more like letting the "Load Testing" Beta 3 group to the head of the line *Not everyone, but some, might be that way*


Go back to the old standard, smaller selective group to kick things off, and to help withinitiating and bringin the new groups up to speed; as they enter the Beta. I just don't want a large number of people seeing this as an opportunity for free "play" rather than taking it seriously, so that we can make the SE "golden" right at the start, instead of possibly buggy as past MMO expansions have been.


So I'd say, Vet's *Pre-Beta SWG: AED especially* be in that round one, with round 2 shifted to the Fan Fest group *Avid fan's, but chancing on testing and feedback quality*, with a Beta 3 for load and overall testing. Esentially the old Beta you did the first time


Other than that..... great seeing a longer post from you again Q. We've all missed you..... especially because TH is nuts now. You've got to get him some new water in his dish, he's been chained up at his desk without for too long.

From the EQ Fan Faires I've attended, all the attendees are hardcore people who have been with the game for a long time...


One thing I forget to mention, is that from the Veteran Community, we will likely give priority to those who have helped us regularly on Test Center. I can't stress enough how grateful we are for the guys and gals on test center.



LeBob, I think I have one of those fixed for Publish 8. It's hard to locate the exact file those bugs are in sometimes.

Q, is the space expansion beta going ot be on a server like test center, or a whole different game platform?

The beta won't be until later this year?! So we may not get the se until 2005?


There goes all my hopes for a summer release. I was willing to wait until july, but that's a little bit too much.

hey Q! What about those of us who were in the games initial Beta? I thought we were going to get some consideration also?

Ok, I've said enough (for now) about SE beta. I'm sure you are going to hear a little bitmore about the Space Expansion in the next couple of weeks. Expect lots more info in mid-May.
