Last Week's Discussion Thread:
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=dev_archive&message.id=42642
This thread is so community members can share their ideas about what they would like to see in the game that is not currently being planned. Game development issues that are being planned will have their own In-Concept “focus threads” listed in the In-Concept forum.
(sorry, seen TH do it too much in the past not to do it now)
TH,
Droids (i.e. Battledroids, Droidekas, and Super Battledroids) should reflect what they are capable of in the films, battle droids are the weakest, droidekas are superior to battledroids, and super battledroids are strongest) however, just as in the movies the droids should have some kinf of weakness, the reason the trade federation was able to pump a lot of these droids out so quickly and cheaply was because they were mindless, and unable to operate on their own, from the star wars databank "The cost of thousands of individual droid brains was avoided by instead relying on a Central Control Computer (CCC) housed in a modified Trade Federadtion battleship ". The only droid with its own brain was the super battledroid. in all these dungeons, there should be ways to disable these brainless droids.
And any chance in the future of solo-able dungeons for the average player (they dont have to grant alot of XP, just something fun for us to do)? Maybe they could be instanced and dynamic with modular areas that make the dungeon an ever-changing enviorment.
-Cinematics-
Shuttles
Its what we remember from the movies and other starwars games - things like lifting off shuttles with you in it, with the camera following your ascend or descend with music in the background
Npc conversations
When you engage in a conversation with an npc, you get the feeling like you're more just clicking buttons then listening to the story of that particular person. Why not have your character stand to that person in a closeup, and while the npc speaks you see his face and its emotes, and when you're required to answer, the camera shifts to you with a closeup to your face, with the options to continiu the conversation.
what about the spaceports, can they be given special care.
like the theed spaceport is completly different then all others, can all the spaceports please have their own specific things. Cause the current spaceports are fun for placing them on tatooine, but it would be very fun to see other architect structures on different worlds.
Concept: A boost device for vehicles. This device would be craftable by artisans, and would be an optional component of a vehicle. Using the device would increase the vehicle's speed, but will cause the engine to overheat. Once the heat limit has been reached, the vehicle will slow down to it's normal maximum speed and can not be activated again until the engine cools. Also, the overheating and stress caused by the boost increases the rate of decay rate of the vehicle during the increased speed. So, the player gets increased speed at the cost of increased maintainance on the vehicle.
Rough starting numbers:
Speed increase: +50%
Decay rate: +200%
I'd like to some cool content for the casual gamer, lower 'level' professions (very roughly defined as players just getting into - not even say 1/2 way through -their expert level weapon profession and not necessarily possessing the top-of-the-line, million-credit gear). I enjoyed the Warren and found that a group of 4 such-skilled players could finish that dungeon. While I do group with larger groups and have a set of 3-6 friends I play with, I'm not in a PA, and play a few hours a week - and thus will probably be unable to enjoy the content of the higher-level dungeons for very long time, which has been the focus of the last two content additions (Corvette and now Death Watch Bunker, the latter of which is essentially raid-level content, from what I'm reading).
I've found that the difficulty level of the Cries of Aldarann arcs (the last arc, anyway), were pretty good for this size/level group of players, but their absence has created a void. I definitely understand the high-end gamers desparately needed this type of content, but I'd like to see the focus switch back around sometime soon.
Of course, I'd also like to see this Combat Rebalance thing that I once heard of......
Maybe something like the one in Mos Eisley
Also I think in the smuggler revamp I'd like to see smugglers with the ability to call out there vehciels in combat a smuggler should always have a out.
