I've only done it twice since the game went Live and I hated the fact that it took days to get it to where I wanted. Now that the ability to have it done in 10 minutes has been added I don't have any reason to avoid it like the plague.
Speaking as a Master Image Designer, that's exactly what we didn't want! We're all for having a "critical function," but having that function given to us in the form of a nerf to the entire playerbase?! My god, we're going to get it worse than tailors did when decay went in. Yet another system implemented based off of player suggestions, but done in such a way that even those that suggested it don't want it. Please, for the love of god, at least don't remove the old migration method—we do not want to be the only way to migrate stats!
Not to mention the fact that we really DO NOT want to be tied to the tents. Most of us have spent credits, time etc. on our studios PLUS like to socialise in our cities. NOT be tied to corolag or theed. Not to mention the fact most ID's won't travel (because they have there studio with decent lighting etc.).

ID's only can do Stat Migration. How stupid is this? It is getting hard on servers now with less population base even to find a Doctor to buff you now. Some nights Im looking for hours for a buff. Now it gets introduced that ID can be the only ones to migrate stats.
Solution: Make it so if I as a player change them it takes 2-3 hours to migrate completely and with ID it takes 10 minutes. Thats all I ned to do is spend more time in a time sink looking for an ID. So now my day goes like this:
Check all harvestors to make sure Im still harvesting some metals or gas because there is no way to check them unless I go there in person (1 hour depending on shuttle wait times)
Stand at least 10 minutes at one shuttle I just missed
Look for ID online to migrate stats. Stand in line at ID tent for migration. Say another hour lost.
Go find a doctor to bufff. Pray I find one at all. If I find one there is a line (good thing is that my stats will be migrated by then). Stand in line again for buff. Lost time another hour!
Miss shuttle (8 minutes)
Finally get to Geno Cave, Corvette or some other GREAT Spawn. 30 Minutes.
Oh look its midnight now. Time for bed. No time to do spawn or event asthat takes 1-2 hours as I have a real job to go to tomorrow. Whew that was a great night of playing!
Thanks for the ban on playing this game for fun! I forgot to add in stuff like get my speeder fixed in my time schedule.
what in god's name are you doing migrating your stats once a day? are you THAT fickle?
"Go find a doctor to bufff. Pray I find one at all. If I find one there is a line (good thing is that my stats will be migrated by then). Stand in line again for buff. Lost time another hour!"
an hour?
a master doctor can heal wounds/apply enhancements every 15 seconds, there are 6 stats to buff, that's 1 minute and 30 seconds, or 90 seconds. If you're having to wait an hour to get a buff, there must be 40 people ahead of you...? If there are 40 people ahead of you, is there *really* a doctor shortage as you say there is?

Image Designer Revamp
- Holo Emotes: A new type of "holo emote" particle effects have been added to the game. Image Designers will sell these limited use, special use emotes to players. There are 16 unique holo-emotes that represent a "holographic" image for a short period of time.
As always, please post here with any issues you find with these new changes.
Enjoy!
A neat addition, to be sure. But as with a lot of some of these additions, the Devs should really ask themselves...is this Star Wars? Or is it just a cool thing we can add, so we're going to give it a try?
The use of holographic images, insofar as I can tell, are traditionally used in the the SW movies and EU literature for two purposes:
- For holographic communications (with a holovid device, through a console, or a droid); and
- In a Holocron. Granted the use of holocrons in-game has been completely revamped to fit the Jedi grind, I appreciate that.Originally in the EU, they were used as a means for the Jedi to store "holographic personalities" to educate future generations of Jedi. No mysterious voices...
In other words, what I'm trying to say is...can you imagine the Imps chasing the Rebs around Hoth or Endor in ESB or ROTJ with holographic skulls floating atop their heads? I can't. It's cool, yes, but it's not Star Wars...*shrug*
Granted, I should have voiced my opinions while this feature was still in-concept, I suppose. But its the sum of all of these "little modifications" the Devs are making that are rendering this game less like Star Wars, and more like any other Sci-Fi MMORPG. And the whole reason I wanted to get involved was to have an immersive SW experience...
Instead of calling "chat", how about calling it a "com frequency"? Instead of sending "/tells" back and forth, how about calling them "comlink transmissions"? I think if the Devs implemented even a fraction of these SW EU-inspired ideas, it would at least make the SW EU afficionados out there feel more at home. I have tons of ideas...I'm sure that many SWG players out there do too, that could make this game feel more Star Wars-y...but I'm just one lone voice in a forum of thousands of daily posts...*sigh*
...Now, if holographic emotes were part of the original DE revamp, where droids could have a holovid projector installed to emote certain graphics, I'd say that would resemble SW a whole lot more than this.
I realize that this feature was implemented to give ID's more of a purpose in-game, but I dunno. It just doesn't sit well with me, that's all. I'm hoping most will see this as genuine criticism coming from an SW fan...I'm not an MMORPGer. This wasn't intended as flame bait. Game on, and May the Force Be With You.
Stupidest . Idea . Ever.

Stat Migration: Image Designers now have the sole ability to migrate player stats faster than the previous default migration rates. The process will take 10 minutes and requires the Image Modification Booth located inside the ID tents. This functionality has been revoked from the general player base and now requires an Image Designer.
what the *edit* are you guys talking about?? How did decay nerf tailors?
Let's clear something up for the ppl that didn't bother to do any research before they started bitchin'. On test center, the stat migration was sped up to test the speed that they wanted it at for the Image designer to do. they were basically testing the speed independent of the rest of the ID changes. They are now going to take the ability to migrate changes quickly away from Joe Player and leave it available to the image designers. So for those of you who can't read, image designers will have the sole ability to do it faster than other professions. Had any of you bothered to find out that stat migration has been very quick on the test center server lately, you could have saved the rest of us from seeing your true colors.
When I'm tinkering with my stats I bump this one a
little, that one a little, think about it a bit,
maybe start over from scratch and try something else.
They'd prolly get mad and end up /dueling me.
You people need to find something else to complain about. To all the l33t d00dz who are complaining: how often do you have to find a doctor? Buffs? Wound healing? How about an entertainer for BF and mind wounds? You are not all self-contained. Dependance on other players is good for the community.
And I'm with the above poster. How often do you migrate your stats? Only if it's more than you visit the cantina do you have a right to complain.
I think this is a pretty cool change. IDs need more functionality and this actually seems to fit. I can understand a general reluctance on the part of the ID community to deal with you complainers, but hopefully everyone will realize it's not all that bad an arrangement.
Devs and complainers, please give it a month. If the situation is still as unbearable as you make it out to be, then let's talk about removing this new feature.

Decay didn't nerf tailors—tailors got blamed for a perceived nerf that was decay. As for the speed of migration, it's irrelevant to the issue at hand. Image Designers as a rule (and there will be some exceptions) DO NOT want to be the sole method for stat migration. We got into the profession and stick with it because it's a fun, artistic mode of play. We don't want to be subjected to the tellhell demands for "critical function" that Doctors endure. It's as simple as that—we don't want it.

I have to say I don't really like this idea... Having another person migrating my stats... sounds like it could be abbused...
At best this needs more detail. Care to comment Rogue_5, TH, anyone?
If I can't migrate my stats with out an ID.......
