Thread: Those pesky New Player Experience Droids

There seems to be some confusion about why those New Player Experience Droids don't go away when you delete them.

The reason for this is that they are meant to come back every time until your character is at least 10 hours old. Once your character passes the 10 hour old mark, the droid should not come back when deleted.

We realize that many players come to TC to see the new content, and hopefully to help us test new systems. Both reasons make us very happy, especially the latter, *cough*.

We also realize that many players that come from Live servers have not had a new character in quite some time and may have not read up on the functionality of the New Player Experience Droids, this is understandable.

This brings me to the point of my post. Please do not /bug the fact that the droid does not go away, unless you are positive that your character is more than 10 hours old.

We are trying to address every bug we get from that /bug tool and sifting through 40-50 extra bugs each day that the droid isn't staying deleted just takes time away from the other, more important issues.

Hopefully, with this clarification, many of you will help spread the word.

Thank you for helping us on Test Center, you all help us make this a better game.

See you all in game!

The ten hours needs to be clarified.

Is it ten hours after getting the new skill or ten hours of time played?

You may want to consider a little note to people who attempt to delete the droids... letting em know that they'll be coming back until game time = +10.....

What bugs me is Ive been playing since launch and took up medic for the 4th different time since launch and this time I get stuck with this little bugger

I thought this was for the new players only, apparently its whenever you take up a starting proff?

Hmm, I have had 2 of this lil bugga's every since I created my 3rd char on TC last Thursday. I play him 2 or so hours nightly trying to grind to Chef. I can delete them but the pop back up a few seconds later. I am positive I have played over 10 hours. Nesh from SWG QA tried to help me with it but to no avail. So should I keep trying to delete or just consider them permanent residents of my data pad?

Regardless, you do need to really look at when they Auto Appear when they're not deleted but told to go away and come back later...

probably 4 times as I was in the middle of battle last night on a newest TC char my stored droid poppud up in the middle of fighting interfering with what I was doing and cluttering up my screen and once getting me killed.

How about just getting rid of the stupid things in the first place and publishing an updated manual?

you people would need clarification on "sit down"... its 10 hours after your char first sets foot on a planet

These little green meanies are a pain in the butt! Picked up brawler the other day to play around, and no matter how many times I stored it, or beat it, or slapped it, or whatever - it kept coming back.

I seriously think the option to turn off the litte shats needs to be implemented.

My biggest concern about the droids isn't thedifficulity of deleting them, it's that if you have one, no matter how old your character is, when you log in, it auto-calls itself and greets you when you finish loading. (At least it does for me.) So you need to re-store it in a datapad. Not a "problem", just very annoying.

Maybe it might be worth it to put the auto-call function on this 10 hour timer as well.

I disagree very much about this. I was amazed at the number of combat medics and doctors I've met who ask me "how did you know how many wounds I have?" I think it was a great way to get people started with a profession.

Furthermore, when starting a character, the rewards were extremely useful. The rental vehicle definitely saved me hours in getting started (so I could run missions faster), and the "small reward" of 2k at the end really helps jump start a character (especially if you do two or three classes).

Not to mention, how many people really read manuals...

My bad for not being more clear. It's 10 hours of playtime on that character.

I will put in a request for some sort of toggle on that little guy. I'm not sure what that will get us, but it's worth a try eh?

Thanks again for helping me spread the word on this.
