Loot kits = Great idea. I love new items, and it's nice to collect parts in this manner.

Drop rate = horrible. I know these should be fairly uncommon, but getting like 1 part every 2 days is pretty sad. Up the rate a bit please, so we might see some of these items entering the world.

So you are saying that if you need 10 parts...getting your item 20 days from now... (1 part every two days).. is TOO LONG?

Loot kits are a new mini-game for collectors. Players can start by visiting Junk Dealers that are located in Combat Guild Halls and request a “loot kit".These loot kits are containers that will be used to collect miscellaneous items dropped from NPC’s and can be turned into a new reward. Loot kits are free for the asking and one per customer. Players can speak to different junk dealers in order to get new loot kits, by asking the Junk Dealer, "What sort of items do you have that you are looking to get rid of?". Once players decide which loot kit they would like, they may begin collecting the parts. To complete a kit, players will need to gather 10 different items that go with the kit. To see what items the kit requires and which ones have already been gathered, “examine” the kit. This list also will tell the player what items they still need to loot by use of a “yes” or “no” next to each item in that list. Only items that the kit actually requires can be placed inside the kit. When a player gets an item that fits with a kit they own they can instantly drag and drop it into the kit and the kit then will count that item as recovered. Kits will not be tradable between players although all the looted parts will be. Kits can only be placed in your main inventory slot or in the bank. The loot kits examine window gives a basic description of what the kit will make, as will the names of the kits. These items can be kept by the player or sold back to the junk dealer for a 1000 credit reward.

  • Were you able to locate the Junk dealer in the main guild hall?

  • Have you tried to complete a loot kit?

Got a kit and started doing it. These are a great idea. Hope to find some parts soon.

I grabbed a loot kit from a junk dealer on Lok, Nym's Stronghold. He wasn't in a guild hall.

Anyway, at first the option to get a kit wasn't very clear, but then I figured out the option is the "He wants to get rid of some junk" option.

The day I got my kit (patch day), loot drops seemed to be borked in general.

Out of 20 NPC loot attempts, I MAY have gotten 50 credits and NO LOOT.

I killed about 20 more NPC's and MAY have received one dagger, sigh.

Thursday, the loot drops seemed back to normal, (CDEF, CDEF, CDEF, Wood Staff, Dagger) woopie!

I have yet to find any components to the loot kits. (Id say about 200 NPC kills, 100 being Tuskens)

Also, kind of annoying, is the fact that when crafting, they show up as a container. (just one more thing in the main inventory to avoid clicking when crafting) but thats not a BIG deal.

I am looking forward to completing a loot kit item.

Can you give us a clue as to the level of NPC that will be dropping the components?

Nice addition to the game.

It's a cool thing, though I think the drop rate of those loots shoud be increased just a little bit.
Plus I do not think that anyone will sell those things for 1000 credits to the Junk Dealers. I made 30k in loot, just looking for pieces of the Nabooian Statue(spelling?). And I only found 2 of them. So it will be about a hundred thousend credits, before I can sell it for 1000? Seems strange to me...

Thank you, anyway.

In my opinion, the 1000 credit reward seems too low for any player to actually put any major effort in locating each part for a given kit. Given that NPC loot is rather "undesirable" by the standards of normal players. (Even Newbie players can buy better stuff in their first hour of play compared to the current loot falling from the easy NPC's) And if the material for these kits where to drop from stronger NPC's, 1000 credits isn't worth the task of finding stuff.

I agree. With the huge variations of kits, it will take ages to collect all the parts you need for your kit. In fact, I haven't found a single piece yet, bought one off of the bazaar though.

I like the idea a LOT, and the items are neat. It's my opinion the part drops are too random and rare. This is what I killedon Tuesnight in a 6 hour time and did not get a single piece:

24 Maulers at the stronghold on Naboo
11 Stormtroopers

24 assorted Imperial NPCs
48 Thugs outside of Restuss on Rori
14 Spice fiends near Bestine
23 Cobral guys in their hideout
40 pirates from the Droid cave on Lok

184 NPCs killed and not a single item (or even a locked container for that matter) seems kind of crazy when you need 10 pieces for each.

I have not tried the Loot Kits yet because the reward is way too low. It is nice to see SOE trying to add content to the game, but let's up the reward a bit. In my opinion, 10k is more realistic.

I like them, its something new to decorate my house with, but the drop rate is a little low.

I have talked a couple junk dealers and gotten the Blue Rug schematic and the table.

I have killed hundreds of NPCs and still no components dropped. Got plenty more imp/rebel discs. I dont plan to camp NPCs to get these parts, but in 2 days I should at least find one part even if it is not related to my schematic.

Solution: increase the loot rates. across the board in my opinion. Current loot rate is designed for power gamers. This game was suppose to be the game for the casual player.
