Risk vs Reward in this game is just bad. I hate random loot quests, because they are a huge time sink with notmuch fun while trying to complete it; unless camping mobs for hours on end it peoples' idea of fun. 1000 credits if I turn this in? How about 100k credtis.

Solution: increase the loot rates. across the board in my opinion. Current loot rate is designed for power gamers. This game was suppose to be the game for the casual player.
And I suspect a lot of the power gamers could care less about nice decorations like the rugs. ![]()
I thinkincreasing theloot rate to what those old Dead-Eye decoder parts had would be nice. It would still take a long time collecting them all, since there are so many schematics with 10 parts each...

Were you able to locate the Junk dealer in the main guild hall?
Yes
Have you tried to complete a loot kit?
"Trying" is the key word. The loot drops for these items really need to be increased. I've spent the last 3 days looting items from various thugs on various planets and this is what I've recieved:
35 Disks (1 treasure map, the rest were rebel transmissions or imperial plans).
50 Various types of junk weapons (Metal staffs, cdef's etc)
5Clothing items.
20 Locked Containers.
3 Crystals.
1Glass Table Base.
1 Glass Table Top
1 Gong Section 5.
and 80,000 Credits.
For the past day I've been doing cave runs at various places across the galaxy. There is one specific cave where I'm practically guarenteed to recieve 1 crystal for eachspawn inthe cave and 1 "Loot kit" peice every 2spawns through the cave. I'm guesstimating that this specific cave has rougly 250-300 NPC's in it per spawn. I've run this cave 4 times and recieved 4 crystals (one was looted by someone else in my group) and 2 Loot Kit peices and these items are almost always looted in the same vacinity in the cave. From this I'm guesstimating that the loot kit peices drop 1/2 as often as crystals.
Of note I've only seen 1 of these items ever assembled and it wastheGlass Tableon the Test Center server which has had a 5 week head start on us. No rugs, gongs or statues have been completed yet possibly due to people looting duplicate parts or not being able to loot the parts at all. Personally I would be satisified if the loot rate was upped to drop as often as crystals. However I suspect you intended these to drop more often as junk dealers will pay a mear 1000 credits for the items, in which case they should drop as often as locked containers, or the disks.
Either way the drop rate for these items needs to be slightly increased.

its a neat idea...but as several PA members are learning...its better to get the loot first ...all loot...and then get the kit to fit the loot...as you may want to make a rug..but get the gong parts first
but there is a problem!!!! NO SPACE...I NEED MORE ROOM
as you can imagine...a collector for this junk kit stuff..is going to be a collector for other stuff...add +9 JTL paintings...+500 resources...+200 weapons & components+50 meds +200 other junk items from holos to crystals to Bestine Paintings +5 sets of armor + furniture = no room
I need more room...cause if I see this right..5 loot kits x 7 items each (give or take)...my 2 accts...4 houses...2 safety deposit boxes...droid storage...I am sqeezing stuff into anything i can find
PLEASE add more room to houses if you are going to add more loot!!!!

I have not tried the Loot Kits yet because the reward is way too low. It is nice to see SOE trying to add content to the game, but let's up the reward a bit. In my opinion, 10k is more realistic.
Ten thousand? We could almost buy our own ship for that!
Butwho's gonna fly it,kid! You?
You bet I could. I'm not such a bad pilot myself! We don't have to sit here and listen...

I've gotten two blue rug pieces (working on glass table...ugh) from meatlumps and Corsec city guards. So they're dropping. I like the rate. Makes the thing time consuming but not hard. It's more fun if you move around and don't just sit there waiting for more NPCs to spawn.

I've been enjoying it. Got the kit, and have looted 2 of the components (1 for the glass table, and 1 for the gong) since the patch. Although it took quite a few kills to get those two drops.
I'll repeat the previous observations, that the drop rate seems low for this type of quest. Each kit needs 10 seperate components, andpeople arebound to get lots of doubles. At this rate, itwill take mea month just to complete one kit. Which seems a bit excessive for a piece of furniture.
It is a nice addition to the loot table though. A lot better then imperial/rebel datadisks.

I think it's an awesome idea, and Igot the Naboo sculpture kit but have yet to find a single component of anything, and I've killed well over 100 npcs looking for a part for it.
So I too will suggest increasing the drop rate a bit
But to answer your questions:
1. I talked to a junk dealer outside the Coronet Starport
2. Currently Trying

Yes, I have begun the quest to complete a loot kit but why and the heck is the loot for it so rare? I wouldn't think the new decorations are rare. I killed about 50 meatlumps and not a thing. They're still dropping rebel disks.

It's a good idea. I'm not too fussed about the reward as I like to get decorations for my house - for those who just want to sell the completed itemsI'm sure they'll go for 6k on the bazaar or more on a vendor.
However the drop rates do need to be increased. I looted a blue rug thread from a Nightsister seninel (I think, maybe a ranger) and despite killing many pirates and mercenaries on Lok last night got nothing.
Please up the drop rates slightly - not enough to make it doable in one night, but a little more than it is now.

On TC I looted several pieces of rug components but I think the rate drop has differed from that(last month) to now the current publish.
