Thread: Jedi Revamp Phase I

"Always in motion is the future". On January 23rd, we announced that the Jedi system would be revamped from the current system to a more quest based way to become a Jedi. As you may guess, this system will be kept under wraps, but we can dispel some of the rumors and talk about the philosophy. Off the top, players will continue force development on their existing characters and a new character slot will become available to the player to develop as they choose. A player will only have two slots ever available but they can develop both slots as they wish. The system as it currently exists will be completely swept away (with the old republic?).fficeffice" />

This first phase of the Jedi revamp focuses on the core of the Jedi system. Being a Jedi will dramatically change as the possible paths to Jedi mastery will now have many different elements to suit different play styles. Advancing down the path of Jedi will start with basic force sensitivity which will be open to all players to create a sense of the force. If players wish to pursue it, they can develop their force sensitivity in minor ways without sacrificing their original character concepts and even enhance their characters to have that certain special something that isn't quite tangible - - a sensitivity to the force as seen in the movies and EU. Should they wish to continue, players can follow a PvE path of Jedi development from Padawan through learning the various force disciplines to become a full fledged Jedi Knight. Jedi Knight is yet another beginning to a new path of development. Once players have become a Jedi Knight and still hear the call, they can enter a whole new level that splits off to light and dark Jedi paths where forced Jedi PvP will gain you force ranking and possibly a seat on underground Light and Dark Jedi Councils.

May the Force Be With You.

?? Does this mean. Everyone will have two slots per server as well? And be FS? creating thousands of Jedi running around? Still kind of confused about this.

well, so far it's looking good, but we need more information on how this will affect current jedi before we can put our views in.

Sounds promising! But will advancement past force sensitivity and into the Jedi tree require me to surrender my tailoring skills, for example?

to be honest, I like it.

I really thought Jedi should be more like in the movies/novels. People had jobs, they were very lucky in what they did or had better senses about what they did...and never really realized it. EVentually Luke meets some of them, and gathers them into an academy...but it wasn't as if the force users suddenly were ALL gone. I don't think everyone will go Jedi...just like not everyone grinds holos to go jedi now. I just hope its attanable by the "casual" gamer, even though I don't fit into that role myself, as well as the power gamer.

I also really hope that only Sith or Jedi are allowed to be hunted. It gives them AND the hunters some challenge...rather than just outright slaughter.

What about current Jedi ? What is going to happen to our skill level & xp ? And should we still be out killing 2000000000000000000 mobs a week ?

Thunderheart.

Your statement is vague but we really need an answer on 1 item.

1) Do existing Jedi lose any work/exp they have put into their FS characters or are they integrated right into the new system at their current level of progress with no such loss.

"Off the top, players will continue force development on their existing characters and a new character slot will become available to the player to develop as they choose. A player will only have two slots ever available but they can develop both slots as they wish. T."

Does that mean :
We can have 2 "normal" OR 2 "Jedi" or 1 of each ?
Does

"The system as it currently exists will be completely swept away (with the old republic?)"

What happens to current jedi with their current skills & levels ?

"Jedi Knight is yet another beginning to a new path of development. Once players have become a Jedi Knight and still hear the call, they can enter a whole new level that splits off to light and dark Jedi paths where forced Jedi PvP will gain you force ranking and possibly a seat on underground Light and Dark Jedi Councils. "

Does this mean skill loss on death is being removed ? No Jedi in their right mind will PvP with skill loss as it is.

Ok sorry was first reaction. YES I am thrilled this is being changed from a HOLO grind fest to mission/quest based. (I think) Just have a few. fuzzy questions.

1. Will everyone have two slots per server now?

2. Everyone will be able to follow the path to Jedi via (everyone will be FS)?

3. Is it time for me to get MBH again to start hunting down The Thousands of Jedi that will be running around?

Not being negative. Just kind of confused. I have been looking forward to a very hard, and long jedi quests and missions to do.

Also what about players like myself that have quite holo's and have done 18 plus master prof. ?

I understand more information will be comming out soon. Just looking forward to the fun.

What does this meaN?

-Will everyone get the second character slot since the beginning?

-Can we also Do force development on our second character?

I love the way you are changing the way the system works towards aquiring a JEDI, instead of having it as an intangible objective it can now be tangible because you will know where you are going and how to get there. I applaud you devs.

Maybe it means instead of 8 slots per account as it is now, it will be reduced to two slots per account, but both can be on the same server if desired... ???
