Thread: Jedi Revamp Phase I
TH
everyone will be able to have 2 chars right?
is this for each server?
so in total everyone will have 16 (+TC) possible characters?
/cheer
I'm impressed. I think this is fair to both existing and aspiring Jedi. The people that already have it won't lose it, and people that want it, will have a much better way of becoming one. I would like to know if there is going to be a force meter so we can monitor our force sensitivity though.
The idea has been pitched that the "Main" character and not the freshly unlocked slot would be FS under the new system.
My request is this: Since all of the Jedi in the movies seem to have changed their identities once they became Jedi, and since we are using our Main Identities, I would like the option to change from joe regular to Padiwan Kloo-Jan if I wanted to. A one time name change should be allowed once FS to stay consistant with everything else, plus I think it would help some of us roll players as well. When I fall to the dark path, I cease to be my old self and become someone knew and more powerful.
Ideas?
I think I, like many others, are worried about the statement which implies that everyone will automatically become force sensative if they wish..with no extra effort. I think it would break immersion to have most of the people on the server being force sensetive.
What is the downside to being a Jedi? Other than bounty hunters, I cant see one. With Jedi being so powerful in PvP, is there any reason for non-Jedi to PvP?
Just some concerns.
Once again. slightly confusing. So my current character, rifleman/ch/other holgrind profs can quite grinding because no matter what, once the patch hits, he will become force sensitive to a degree. he can then chose to drop some of his skills and progress down the path of Jedi. All the while, i will have a SECOND character that I can do whatever I want with, ie he can become a jedi as well or be a doctor/jedi noob or a CH/jedi knight?
Please tell me I wont be seeing a master TKA/Jedi Knight.
(1) Jedi must remain comparatively rare. Somehow, there has to be a reason for people to decide that they'd prefer their characters to remain "Jedi-free." The quest must be VERY difficult. Continue to bolster non-Jedi content and implement the combat balance in order to keep the traditional professions appealing.
(2) Along the same lines, Jedi should continue to be a riskier profession. Skill loss, item decay, and so on should still be in the game, although risks should be balanced with rewards.
An "Easy Jedi! Protected from negative consequences!" button would be horrible for the game. As players, we always ask for our professions to be buffed while everyone else's is nerfed. To preserve the game, have the courage to tell us "no" if you've got a good reason.
(3) If bounty hunters are intended to continue to be a "check" on Jedi, ensure parity between BHs and lower-level Jedi, and between grouped BHs and master Jedi.
Professional Resolution
To improve the community feedback loop and atmosphere so that we set the bar for community relations for an MMO.
This looks VERY good but I'd like to see a few clarifications:
- Can you give some sort of hint on the process *before* you obtain FS? The text can be interpreted as that all players start FS, which imo would be a bad change.
- Forced PvP, does that imply that you ONLY advance by killing other jedi? I like this solution as it puts jedi mastery in the hands of those who are skilled in PvP, and limits the high-end jedi population, but once again, I'd like to see a clarification.
- Will force sensitivity be implemented as a basic profession?
TH,
When will this happen? This would be nice for us Holo Grinders, so we dont just spin our wheels for nothing.
I know you cannot give a definate date, but a guess would be nice.
Do they get reset or are they left alone for the most part?
Well.. since this is nothing but vague innuendos, the only feedback I can give you right now is to tell the dev team to read the Jedi board and try to keep up with it.
My biggest questions right now are what happens to current Jedi already into the guardian tree, and does this crappy idea of "force pvp" mean Jedi have to pvp to get to master or is it pvp to get ranked and maybe get on one of these councils (whatever they're for). If pvp is required to get all the way to master just tell us now so some of us can save a few bucks.
