Thread: Faction Insurance Day Pass: How much?

In the teams effort to resolve the PvP Death and Decay, what we are going to be able to implement (for publish 7), is a Faction Combat Day Pass. This "day pass" is Insurance.


You check in with your faction recruiter, purchase a day pass for faction combat (PvP and PvE), and for 24 hours, you will have no decay on your insured items.


How much do you think this should cost?



Aakhperkare brought up a great point to folks who are coming in new tothis discussion:

This is a PvP issue, Exclusively.


The "PvE" part is forwhen a Factioned NPCIncapacitates you- - NOT general PvE. General PvE will remain as-is.

hmm since it shouldn't be there in the first place I would say no more then 10 fps.

But if you remove decay from armor (since it is now "double taxed" since it degrades through use just like weapons), I think 100 FP would be reasonable, keeping in mind most people will lose that in PvP in 2-3 DB's.



PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE revisit armor decay. Listen to your players. It is double taxation - remove decay on it now and the uproar will simmer down to a murmur.

Umm, how about nothing because it makes absolutely zero sense to have some still decay even though you insure it.

Well I guess at 100 or even 250 FPs it would be worth getting. Maybe call it a hundred...although the pass shouldn't be needed because it shouldn't decay at all.

I agree with the idea that as a way to encourage more strategic, overt combat and less senseless TEF wars, having the pass free, or significantly reduced in price for overt status is a good idea.

I'd say like 20 FP. I mean otherwise those of us who are Faction crafters are going to be SOL if we get caught by a crackdown search, get TEFd, and killed by fifty imps that come out of the woodwork. Remember, not everyone who is factioned runs faction missions every day or PvPs all the time, therefore we have very few faction points.

since decay is the worth idea ever in a MMOG, then it should be FREE!
