... please tell us how your lightsaber construction has gone in this thread. Crystals used, stats, bugs, etc.

Thanks!

If the FS experimenting is supposed to stack I only got 10 experiment pts from LS experiment +100 and Force Experiment +20.

it would appear that most poor crystals have a negative damage modifier and the real reason to use them is because of their negative force cost and speed mods.

One of my color crystals had stats attatched to it. Not sure what happened with that but the other oneI tuned didn't have any.

Two issues have come up:

One) Some crystals have Color AND Damage mods on the same one. Is this a bug or intended?

Two) It is possible to obtain a lightsaber with a negative force cost! The side-effects of this are that you actually LOSE jedi xp when doing specials, and I believe it actually adds force points back into your pool (although both xp and force are very minor).

Same deal , Color crystals have poor damage crystal stats.(Intended ?)

Force experimentation not taking effect.

Saber damage is still incredibly low..or do we plan to fix the ar2 /no vuln issue ?

Thanks G

Re-read the description on Force Experimentation. Looks like it was changed to just give a better chance at amazings. The crafting communitythrew up too big a stink about 14 point crafters me-thinks

Now that is a trade-off that I would certainly LOVE to be able to choose when I need it. If I'm starting to run low on force, switching to a negative force cost sabre for a while would be a neat trick.

Losing a bit of xp would be FINE with me in that situation if it helps to keep me alive.

For that matter, if it helped me regen a bit faster while grinding down that lair after I killed all the spawns (and drained my pool), that would ROCK as well.

JustG - I'll do play-by-play crafting report like I did last time probably tomorrow after I play a while first (doh, and after I find some gas...).

the +20 you get for FS experimentation isn't carrying forward into Lightsaber Experimentation.

Experimentation doesn't really yeild much on the final build. an example would be, 2h 4th gen, max damage on initial build is 270, after experimentation it's ~290 or so. Definately less that what a master weaponsmith would see, but it may be intended that way???

Same is true with force cost. 4pts may yield -2 to FC.

Otherwise, the sucess/fail rate is reasonable compared to weaponsmith, although I did get a few more "Sucesses" than I'd like. But, it's not unreasonable thus far.

Crystals, Are the Damage / Color crystals intended? I sure hope so.

and off topic a bit, any word on what will become of our Twins on live?

209-296, 3.1 speed, Force Cost 16 saber

1 hand

4 force crystals used, all with 20 dmg average.

Does little in PVE

And nothing in PVP.

I logged once to choose skills, then had to relog to get my force to tune crystals- so was given a double helping of crystals. Oddly enough on the relog, a couple of my colors had stats, and I could use them in the base saber.

With the materials provided on Naboo, I made a 4th gen lance with the following stats:

4.9speed

231 min

317 max

42.0% wound

54/84/43 HAM

I had a lot of low dmg, low force crystals provided. One color crystal had stats, and I could use it!

I put in :

Blue 0 min dmg, 0 max dmg, -0.39 speed, -9 force

Damage 0/0/-0.31/-8

Damage 11/11/-0.19/-7

Damage 0/0/-0.30/-7

Damage -2/-2/-0.38/-9

Saber stats net:

3.3 speed

240-326 dmg

44.1% wound

9 force cost

Note: The fractions of speed are dropped during calculations.

The overall damage is just flat out poor. I really wish the minimum damage to any crystal was 50, max 100. That MIGHT give us a fighting chance.

Force cost of 9 is really low, but it would be 18 without the color crystal with stats. 18 still seems fairly high, but the saber materials are 'so so'. It is a interesting idea to have color crystals with stats on live though

Construction is straight forward, the resources used were fairly poor.

Culsion Gas - 999 OQ (this was the nicest)

Titanium Alum - 591 OQ/376 Cond

Polysteel Copper - 450 OQ, 932 Cond

Duralloy Steel 518OQ, 650 Cond

Polymer 455 OQ.

I have to say though, it's very odd for Lightsabers to require major stats as Cond and OQ, when all other Melee weapons from WS are Shock and OQ Cond and OQ are usually for ranged weapons, though I guess an argument can be made for the beam of light thing.

Keep in mind the old system added about 191 dmg per generation, THEN modified by pearls. So in the old system a 5th gen alone could potentially provide nearly 1000 damage, and 4 pearls another 800. So the base damage in 'old' sabers would peak around 1800. With 4 , 50 rated , 'uber' crystals, it appears to me we are looking at around 500 dmg maximum sabers. That's a pretty strong 'nerf'.

That being said, I kept careful look at damage numbers in battle- a 326 max dmg saber was doing around 377 to 465 dmg, so the extra damage from AP 2 does appear to be taking effect. I compared actual ham loss vs reported numbers. So the AP is correct, it's the damage range of sabers that needs to be looked at. I think a few minute fight with a on-par uber jedi is great, but not a 30 minute+ never ending battle

As stated before, the Crafting Experimentation from the Force Sensativity is not stacking or does not appear to be stacking with the Lightsaber Experimentation.

Also, the actual act of experimenting does VERY little to the final product. My best run I was granted an extra 25 damage, which barely covers the -2 through -5 damage mods from the poor rated crystals we were given. Resulting a product less than 300 damage. Unless you use a polearm saber and then you might be able to pull 350.

Stats on my 4th gen One hander. Estimated 160-260damage, 2.9 speed, 12 force cost, Used bad crystals

Stats on my 4th gen Double Bladed. Estimated 200-320 damage, 3.1 speed, 9 force cost, used bad crystals

Both experimented damage out to 65%(best I could get with a +13 crafting tool).

Damage seems to be on the low end in my opinion. Actually, its on the VERY low end. Being the best weapon a jedi can get, forced to use 4 rare loot drops to make it, and having it with less damage than an acklay stun baton.....VERY low damage.

Confirmed! Using a 1st gen with one of the (very BITCHIN) new combo color/damage crystals -and- another damage crystal I now have a sabre with a -3 fc. I am losing xp when I swing it, but I -=AM=- getting FC back using it.
