Thread: Publish 6 Feedback: Creature Handlers & Pets

There have been some reports regarding Creature Handlers and Pets.



1. What are your issues?



2. What is the Pet description, specifically (type/level, etc)?



3. Was it a Bio engineered pet or a tamed pet?

I was fighting with a CL54 Kimo (BE) and a CL25 GSP (natural) on Endor.

The kimo was basically worthless - running away for no apparent reason, and then refusing to come when called. The GSP fought like a champ and stood his ground. A lot of the critters I was fighting also ran like little girls - even aggressive ones.

Also - my pets stand ON me. (and each other), making things very difficult to do.

1. Every pet, regardless of level or BE/wild origin, now stands inside you unless you force it into a formation, and this formation workaround is invalidated the first time you tell the pet to 'follow'.


2. If you call multiple pets, outdoors, they stand inside each other unless you force them into a formation, and this formation workaround is invalidated the first time you tell the pets to 'follow'.


So basically, pathing and pet movement was totally hosed by Publish 6. Prior to that, when you called multiple pets outdoors, they stood apart from each other and apart from you. Now they don't.


3. Auto-store seems to have worsened. Regardless of pet type. Pets failing to follow when commanded, and stopping at zone boundaries, seems as bad as ever if not worse.


There are numerous new issues related to combat and pets running away that I'll leave to others to document exhaustively, as the CH forum clearly has some threads where people have spent a good deal of time investigating the issue of BE vs. natural.

1. I'm currently grinding artisan, so I have not been using the full panoply, but when I pulled out my pets Wed night and put them on Guard while I sampled they stayed right on top of me. Usually I could get a couple meters of clearance. Made it really difficult to even select the camp panel to disband it. I can't speak to combat, I only got aggroed by some vrelts and they didn't last very long...


2. Pets were a tamed Toxic Merek Battlelord (CL44 or 45) (Fugly on Qyx Wych of Scylla if you want to look at the specific instance) that I have had for months and a tamed Grand Wrix (CL24?) that I have had even longer. (Been hologrinding so I have not had much turnover lately)


3. Both were tamed.

This morning I was fighting gasping spider's at a lair. I would get the spider down to 100-500 ham and it would disappear. this would also cause my pet to disapear also. The ham on my pet would be 3/4 or so before they disappeared. I would camp and call the pet again and the ham would be almost gone. Very frustrating to get the MOB down to nearly no HAM and not get any XP, and a wounded pet to boot.

my cats were ok, but my stormtrooper just stands around looking dumb when i tell him to attack (sometimes)..

i thought we were getting the ability to call from anywhere with this publish?


as for pets, i dislike how a TON of good food the chef can make is designed as pet only...


now that no one uses pets we'll make them happy right?

p.s these were clvl 27 spiders BE made if that makes a difference

Can't adjust thestats of an "illegal" BE pets, always fails

BE 70CL Kimo (post BE patchKimo)tamed no problem but will not Call at all (called up to 68/69CL) By MCH (ovbiously).



Service Ticket suggested that this might be fixed with Publish 6....it wasn't.

I've noticed that sometimes my pet will act eratically, turning sideways while running behind me, stuttering and slowly falling behind. Used to happen occasionally before the patch, but last night happened a lot, with both myself and the person I hunted with. Mine was a cowardly gurreck (tamed) and my hunt partner's was a bio-eng cat. they took turns stutterstepping and half turning until we stored the troublemaker and made a camp to recall.


On a side note, what's being done about the vehicle hitpoint bug?
