Starting this morning, we will be patching out some of the data for the upcoming Publish 9. This data contains a lot of the new art that will be needed for the new publish. Please note that this does not prevent us from doing more fixes before we release it. We are still actively working on the publish including continuing to adjust the balance for the Jedi changes.
Thanks,

R%, might be an odd place to ask, but is it possible to get an early patch notes thread going? Or maybe an updated cummulative TC pub 9 patch notes thread in In Testing? There are a lot of non-jedi thigns going on or that are still open and since its been so long since this patch hit I think it would be a good time to recap it all so TCers taht aren't playing jedi, but isntead playing and workign things like the quests, or the bazaar, or crafting tool changes, or whatever else can go through the list and make sure we focus on any loose ends. Also so we can go though and help find line items that aren't documented before the live notes go out.

I really like the concepts, it's just a matter of balancing everything. It's hard when all the other elite combat profs are either really good PvE, really good PvP, decent at both, or total crapola, and Jedi is supposed to be uber in PvE and PvP... there isn't a class like that now. Since EVERYTHING in the game is vuln to lightsaber, it's hard to make sure it's how it should be in PvE without being TOO good in PvP, or the way it should be in PvP, without gimping it in PvE. Then again, Jedi should beat anyone in PvP... with a flash of Ben's lighstaber now there's an arm on the floor!... I'd say leave PvP as is (except endless jedi vs jedi) and make a way for the AP to take effect in PvE.

I'm seriously doubting that June 22 is gonna be a reality. Please don't rush it. We are in no hurry. Most of us aren't going anywhere, but if this publish is a bust, it could send many of us running.

I hate to say it, but I doubt many people will leave. So don't say we will. I don't think in all the history of MMOs there has been a publish or patch that caused a massive enough exidus or players to makes Devs worry about it...
I'm sure it will all work out in the end. The Devs want to make a fun game that people want to play. Most of us joined because this is Star Wars. Most of us, at one time or anouther, would like to be a jedi, or have fun with one. Thats what this publish, and the next one, are aimed at. Opening the door so that people can enjoy that dream.
The combat rebalance is going to be aimed at the rest of the game. Allowing people to be what they want to be and be useful, unique, and interesting. So someone can be a BH, go out with a group of buddies, and have fun hunting in the wilds. So that people will actually want to be a pikeman or carbineer because they will help you kill a rancor. This also will hopefully create a more Star Wars feel for the game, as that is what the game is suposed to be.
Of course last on the list was the GCW... Once again, aimed at not only opening content to us all, no matter what proffesions we have chosen, but also allowing us to feel more like we are part of the Star Wars universe.
And then JLS, because what would Star Wars be without starships?
Face it guys, the Devs are doing the best they can. If you think you can do a better job... Well, learn all you can about coding, work on afew other projects, get together with a bunch of other people, get backed by a major company, licensed by Lucas Arts or whatever, then put the whole thing together while the company behind you is pushing you to put out a finished project by a certain date that is only getting closer... Well, once that is out of the way all you have to do is anticipate the way people will use and abuse your code, and how it will affect the millions of other little bits and pieces of the game that have already been put inside the servers. And do not forget the thousands of nagging individuals who are constantly pointing out little faults, big faults, and shouting at you for being to slow and messing things up when you move to fast.

Yeah, and then give us a "toggle jedi" tick box in the options so we don't have to look at them either. Then we can all pretend like they don't exist.

I submitted a bug report about the Bestine Museum feature artist missions not working since the last download. I am not sure how often those get read but was hoping that there might be a quick fix for that somewhere in the next publish.
The problem with the bestine museum is that the missions don't start after you go through the speech with the curator. After getting the names of the next three artist's for this round and you accept the task from the curator the artist don't respond to you with mission text when you arrive at them. If you talk to the curator again either right after accepting thetasks or after trying to talk to the artistsyou end up getting the original options of dialogue and not the "have you visited with the artist" dialogue.
I only got a couple of the paintings so far and hope this is an easy fix that can be put in with no problem.

Supposedly June 22nd was the date for Publish 9 to hit. I think that the Devs are working feverishly hard to hit that date.

Devs you know when you let the jedi participate in the GCW this game will die right? Mabye if you guys would go over to the GCW boards you will get the picture.
Your words
"GCW will be the end game content for the veteran players"
What is happening in new publish
"Force ranked jedi will be permanently overt and have to play constantly to keep their ranking up"
What that means....
The most hardcore players will become FR jedi, and will run around coronet and theed in "god mode" forcing every non jedi player out of the GCW and pvp.
What will the veteran players who do not want to become jedi but want to participate in the GCW?
Leave.
Then you will see the errors in your ways, you will see when the majority of players leave what happens when you put the minority(jedi) first. If you on the other hand had put the combat balance and GCW publishes first, well I guess we will never know
Oh and for the ppl who say that jedi wont kill overts bc they wont gain any rank, what is gonna stop the hardcore pvp'r jedi from slaughtering any red dot on their radar? Nothing.
Solution?
Make Jedi their own faction, light and dark, seperate from the galactic civil war. Please start implementing this now if you care about this game what so ever.
Thanks
Jeremiah Dee
