Well here it is July 16th, I have 2 weeks left on the YEAR subscription I paid for a long long time ago. In a Galaxy that is still far far away. I got an email the other day, although I canclled those SWG updates cause I didnt care anymore. I read through of they year history and I just snickered at most of it. I havent played the game since November of last year, right around the time Holocron drops were introduced and Jedi Padawans started cropping up all over in one weekend.

I has visions of being a Creature Handler Ranger. It made sense to me, something I could get into and roleplay around the SW universe you setup. But they wat creature handlers were back then, what they became. The orginal probot and that early nerf, than one nerf after the other and everything turning into flavor of the month. I wasnt sure if this wasn done on purpose so people would change professions and stumble upon the Jedi Secret back then?

I can remember Liea4loot and Ryshak way back before release trolling up the boards about PvP and combat etc. and Thunderheart passionatley defending the game every step of the way, then he got a job as a Community communicator. I felt bad cuaseI thought he was boarding a ship doomed to explode.

I play City of Heroes now, I have been since around May beta. Yep it doesnt have alot of features but man it works well for what it is. Yep it needs work and expansions, but at least everything isnt Fubar'd. Every MMO forum I go to I find SWG refugees, sad very sad, of how the game COULD of been. When the game won the Coaster of the Year award in Computer Gaming World, I was both happy and sad.

I once had high hopes for the game and the DEVs, but through those first 4 months I went from excited to fed up. I log in every other month and go to create character just to see the loads. The servers back in the day use to be Heavy to Medium loads. Now they are light to medium. Usually 15 light and 9 medium, and no it wasnt cause of the new European servers added.

If you ever had a taste of the CoH dev team, you wouldnt look upon SWGs with high regards. I know many of you who are left LOVE Star Wars, I do or did too. I still see some old PAs players till in the game, one still has THREE accounts in order to do what she all wants but...

If SWG can live with what it has left, more power to them. A NEW HOPE? I dont think so. Sure some NEW stuff might attract players...for awhile....than they will leave like before.

Jedi vs Jedi?

An opinion from an old SWG community, who will rejoice once his account finally runs out in 2 weeks. What a waste.

Came back 7.6.04 to see what it was like after ~6 months away. Was starting to enjoy it. After hearing that a voluntary paid expansion is getting pushed ahead of fixing what I am paying $15/month for(telling me to pay $30 for more content is ridiculous when the existing content doesn't exist!) I am thoroughly disappointed in SOE, LucasArts, and everyone up high who has deecided to try to milk their customers for potential future broken promises. I refuse to pay for a "lemon". Just imagine how dead the worls will be when everyone left will be out in space. You better start thinking of combining servers, SOE, because you're going to be paying a lot of maintenance on servers that have a handful of folks on them.

Subscription cancelled, yet again. *sigh*

I actually feel ashamed to be a game veteran now.

I need to have my word in here too. I am very disappointed as is everyone else about this annoucement. I was hoping that a game company, for once, actually cared about the people that played the game. Alas, this is not to be. I will also not purchase JTL until these more important fixes get addressed. I canceled my account once and came back to see these changes. I am not adverse to canceling it again. Please do something to show that you actually care about the people that play this game. Thanks.

Is this a late April fools joke? because i haven't been able to stop laughing my ass offat the DEV's or SOE after reading alot of posts where people have quit and or told you what they thought of the game as it is.

I mean do you guys honestly think that you are so smart and those of us who play this game are so stupid to keep playing after so many broken promises,imean really is there a 7 year old kid running things.

Here is what i have seen since beta promises which of most have never been keep oh i know a new correspondent comes in for any given profession and the next thing you need us to give ideas on how to fix that profession and it's not as if you have said this once or even twice but many many times, another great insult was your vet rewards lol that was a good one it had me laughing for a week lol.

That 523 doesn't include ALTS I'm sure.

I'm not so much mad as I am sad. I mean SOE has a great opportunity but they screwed it up. I mean hire more people! Make it happen. They honestly need a complete staff overhaul, someone can get it done but it isn't the current staff. And the forum provider Lithium needs to go. I mean its been as buggy as the game. Also the newsletter ... I've gotten one newsletter since the begining, and the whole time they say 'Check your spam queue'. I mean there's so many bugs its staggering. I hate to be negative and its not personal to the staff but in my business if you can't get the job done then "You're Fired" (In Trump's voice).

I think its wrong to work on the JTL instead of the core game, plus I remember TH saying a separate team was working on JTL as to not disturb work on the core system, anyone else remember that? This is reallya shame, a great opportunity gone. And there's no second chances in business, you screw up once and its done. I'm sorry but SW:G will be remember as a huge failure and it will be due to the staff. (ThunderHeart I don't mean you, I think you are an amazing guy and I can relate to you, I don't blame you for a second, you are a hard worker and I'm sure you are a great guy.)

I find this news highly dissapointing. I'm leaving SWG for Final Fantasy XI for now. Maybe I'll come back after they release the combat rebalance and this game doesn't suck so badly.

When was the last time the Devs did things right? What makes you think they will get the CB right, even after another year?

We have been lied to.

I was forgiving of the Devs when I thought they were merely incompetent, but trying to fix things. Dishonesty by the Devs on this level is something I can not forgive.

It's OK, I personally could care less if something is broken as long as it works well enough to be fun, and I think SWG works plenty fine to be plenty fun. I am also looking eagerly forward for my copy of JTL. It should be a lot of fun!
