I really feel they should have scrapped the JTL project and put the whole dev team on finishing the game I already paid for. I mean JTL is already late and delayed. Why not make it later and make this work better?
I do agree its better to ahve the whole team on one project at a time. What i wonder is why dont they hire more staff to get thiings running back on schedule? Yup it will cost more money but its what we cost of doing business.
As a master smuggler who has also not just had the combat rebalance put off but also had the msuggler revamp put of i am even more dissappointed. In any case for now I will stick around for a few more months. But if they cant get the smuggler and the GCW working in the first quarter of next year I think Ive had it. Mainly because they cant just admit they cant get something done until they cant hide it anymore. Its always wait till this comes out it will be here soon. then when its a few months over due they say well we couldnt get it done right and done on time. So because we care we are going to delay it some more to make it right.
Why not just come out and say they are way over on stuff to do. Nothing is going to run on schedule. And say it BEFORE its 6 months late.

I can understand the need to push out a new product in time for the holidays- but I thought that was what EQ2 was all about.
I will be leaving as well - but they won't feel the sting. Even if 20% of their customer base stops paying today (and assuming that they were all set up as monthly subscribers), the release and purchase of JTL will more than triple what they lose.
I haven't hit UO since the first year it was released. Might be a good time to go back and see what advances they have made.
I may be back around Feb 2005 - after all the dust settles from whatever troubles the addtion of JTL has.

Wow 52 pages of complaints. That is impressive. Consumers are the biggest form of advertisment and and now atleast half of the SWG community are pissed and will only promote negativity to those who have not yet had to a chance to experience SWG. Doesnt really sound like the best way to make a profit now does it?. Ignorance runs wild it seems

50 of these 52 pages are a bunch of pissed of consumers who feel they have been robbed.
The way I see it you have 2 options:
1. Cancel your subscription. If you want a group of people to know they have made a mistake this is how you do it. EVERQUEST is another SOE so going there doesn't really help. Go somewhere else.
2. Bend over and enjoy the dry hump.
What is going to happen is this:
Even if the developers cared about what the MASSES want, they are inequipped to do it.
PvP Solutions: THESE CAN BE IMPLEMENTED IMMEDIATELY!!!
1. Poison Cures at Medic 4 on one of the lines.
2. Double the effect of mind buffs. This would cause an enormous regeneration rate and help to counter all of the problems with the mind pool.
Rifles and CM will still be a problem, but not an almost IMPOSSIBLE obstacle for the small group of people who don't all want to be a Doc/Ranged profession group.
I don't presume to have the answers to fix this broken game. What I know is this: My answers are better than anything Sony Online Entertainment can come up with.
Inoculation is a cutesy word and area cures would be nice but my solutions make it EASY to do right now.

Without a doubt, if they didnt have 'Star Wars' as the title of this game, it would have been dead in the water long ago. They better pray to George Lucas it doesnt sink still from gross incompetence. Whatever they pay for the franchise name, i hear its like 9%, its by far the best investment for these idiots since its the only thing keeping them afloat.

I agree with the statements made in a few posts above. We all applaud the devs decision to do things right. We are just tired of the things we as players want to see done pushed back for other things.
I've never minded the Jedi centered publishes of 9 and 10 because in addition to revamping the Jedi they will get rid of hologrinding and I'm all for that. I don't fault the devs for wanting to do things properly because it's admirable that they wish to do that given their staff numbers.
What I don't like is the fact that the game is so imbalanced right now it's not even funny and that is not going to be addressed anytime soon. I'd rather see JTLS pushed back and the current game breaking issues ironed out. I don't PvP but it's not because it doesn't interest me. I don't PvP right now because I know it's so borked and imbalanced it's not even funny. I don't wish to be "content for the I win buttons of KOTOR online" as has been stated before. I don't wish to be part of an organized group that gets wiped out in a few seconds by a single combat medic and I don't wish to be part of the TEF gankfest that exists. In short I don't want to engage in anything so totally messed up beyond belief that it would be nothing more than a lesson in frustruation.
That's why so many players are upset with this annoucement. They've had to deal with these horrible imbalances for nearly a year now all the while being promised thatchange was literally just around the corner. Now we find that we'll have to wait about 6 months and maybe more (who's to say that this annoucment isn't just another empty promise).
Did I mention how much I hate the weapon switch timer. . .

I don;t know if this point has been made yet (50+ pages is a lot of reading) but Jedi are now completely screwed in PvP... You took away our armour and never gave the resists you promised. Then you balanced us to Combat balance levels on the premise that this would be short term and that the combat balance would bring us back in line. Now we have to wait longer for the combat balance so we are the only class who are at post combat balance levels whilst everybody else can walk all over us if they know what they are doing. I am a dark Jedi. I do not expect to spend the next 4 or 5 months running from every fight!
Welcome to the wonderful world of CH. We've been balanced against this mythical Combat Balance for over 7 months now, well before Jedi. And now we have to wait until AT LEAST 2005, well over a year of being nerfed.
I pity TH for having to deliver this news and face the backlash, and think SOE has really screwed up here. The priorities show that money is all that matters: not customer satisfaction, not loyalty to the customer, not even honesty. Management heads need to roll for this decision...

520+...
Boy, that number just gets bigger, and bigger, and bigger.
Thunderheart, I'ma do you a favor. When this reaches 75 pages, I'm going to give you an Anniversary Present: The actual number of announced cancellations.

SOE:
TH ... Please use this as you wish. I'm in your corner and I'll do what I can to help buy you guys some time. This is your 30 day notice.
I repersent a guild of growing to 50+ members in the next month. I check these forums for my guild members and I speak for my guild. I will be notifying my guild fully of SOE's decision on this and my people will do what they wish with the information. What does that mean? That despite only a fraction of the total population check these forums, the rest of atleast my people will fully find out about this. They will tell their friends and the snow ball will start. I woke up this morning with a much clearer sense of what this means as I was pretty ticked last night.
Black Star is primarily a "to the roots" Imperial guild. We are heavy RP and we can stand toe to toe against any Rebel guild out there. We win some and we lose some. Over 80% of Black Star are Vet's and a good portion have been faithful to SWG since day one or since Beta. We were counting on the GCW revamp and many of my people were counting on the Combat Revamp to hold them through until JTL. Black Star is also 100% space oriented. Meaning we are an Imperial Naval unit, with that in mind. It is clear that SOE has their priorities screwed up and your wanting us to get into a space expansion with a core game that is FUBAR.
As a guild leader, it is my job to present my people with the best possible answers in a content void environment. I work over time to create something for the GCW that doesn't exist. It is my duty as a guild leader to chart the course for a guild of people who think of "family" (the guild) first before anything else. I have never played a game like this, but despite the lack of proper fixes, I have always lead from the front in my guild and shown my people a path of self made content and a self generated GCW. And now I must go tell my people that the GCW Revamp that we've so long waited for has been thrown out the window because of the Jedi and SOE's apperent lack of professionalism in dealing with their customer base.
I represent 1 of many guild leaders who must do the same in some fasion. You (SOE) have made our lives a lot harder in game, why? Because we now must go to our people with something that was long awaited and tell them "Sorry folks. You have to wait six months to get the fixed that were promised before JTL." Now I have to start weighing in the fact that Im going to lose "X%" of my people and need to reformulate accordingly during the next month. That is totally unacceptable.
This will be my last post on this subject, but I wanted to present you with some in game practical things that you have now forced on your players. TH ... Im sorry you had to tell us this, I really feel for you this morning. Its almost 9:30 am in Cali and your probably just coming into work knowing your going to have to face this thread. But I assure you, this information is spreading through the player base like a wild fire. I am going to do what I can to keep my people around because of the family we've formed in game. NOT because of SWG. You have 30 days to get something put together before I consider closing my last account. And I can tell you right now, if I go. Your going to lose atleast 5 other account sets if not more simply because people will follow me. That is small in the grand scheme. But rest assured, I and Black Star on Starsider are only 1 example what is now happening galaxy wide, and galaxies wide.
If I have 30 days left here, then I'll do what I can to support my people. You TH ... have one person in your corner, I've posted on the GCW Forum making an effort to help you and Jester out. Its all I know how to do on my end. But you guys had better get this squared away. And when I say you ... I'm not referring to you TH. I'm referring to the people you communicate with, the Devs and those in the conference room this morning feeling the pain of seeing over 450 accounts cancelled last night.
