Whatever ranking system is setup for the forums won't help me in a decision to cancel or keep my account. Do whatever you want with the rankings.

The best of his class at secret training grounds on Yinchorr, Kanos was an expert at the echani fighting form and in wielding a force pike. Kanos' fanatical loyalty, though, was his greatest and most dangerous weapon. Even after Palpatine was defeated at Endor, Kanos and his fellow Royal Guardsmen remained true to the Imperial ideal. As Imperial moffs and admirals began greedily carving up the Empire to fuel their own ambitions, Kanos attempted to uphold the codes of the New Order.

Actually some of the most popular people (in a good way) do not even qualify for higher ranks in the star ranked tree, so no... thatidea is incorrect, it is not about that. It is meant to reflect post quality, some people will never like it but it will happen in some form or another. Your concerns are the exact reason that the system was made, it is a means for the community to voice to each other how they feel about one another. If you see your self getting lots of low ratings you may go "oh wonder how I can post better to keep that from happening", or you can just choose to ignore it.

Editing will be at the rank 2 mark (for those that asked)

We understand your motivationGarva but you are only presuming that everyone will go "oh wonder how i can post better or make people like me".

In Virtualreality world this rule can not be applied like in real life due mainly to anonymity. You beleive that every posters will behave normally if they get 1 stared by a 1 star bandit. Not everyone istrying to be a betterperson.Noteveryone hasthe same IQ orare mentally healthy to make judgment...Also some players just don't care.

Not only the 1 starers give 1 starwhen they disagree with the posters but they also use it to attack players.

The Starring system is so completely wrong. It is a tool used tofrustrate and attack so many innocent players on the forum. The1 star bandits use their alternate accounts to 1 star someone's post for all kind of reason including evil actions in-game.

Ifthe posters are getting one star because theyare hunting, crafting andselling,You can not force the 1 starvictims to stop hunting , selling or crafting can you ?

The Starring post column need to be removed completely.

There has been many rumors about SOEusing the starring system for their interest as well.

By the way, a friendof uswho designed many SOE sites had toquit SOE few months ago because of the decisions like this that were always coming from Top-Down.

Remove the Starring system andyou will see more people enjoying the forum.

I might be in the minority, but I'd rather have no rankings at all. No stars, no titles. I don't even care to see the post count totals. In the end, they're not terribly meaningful, or even useful.

Please devote more resources to improving the game instead of the forum.

I just want to know if I get to keep my "interior decorator" title. Couldn't really care less about forum ranks, but I'm proud of my Interior decorator accomplishment.

This may be too much to ask, but would it be possible to make it so that at the bottom of the page there's a thing to say Submit Rankings or somthing? Because I really hate trying to rate posts, and especially multiple posts, when the page refreshes after I rate and I have to find the post again to keep reading

But as for identifying the One Star Bandits, I give you a /hi5

Edit: Also, can we change the mod's titles to somthing more fun than "Administrator" ? I know that I would like to see GarVa as Grand High Lord of the Forums

A bunch of extra ranks don't really seem necessary. We can already see what everyone's post count is. Also if the requirements for the ranks aren't change you will never never see a single star ranked person because the minimum post count for the star ranks is higher then the minimum post count for the corresponding normal rank. If you really want to give people credit for making good posts just display their average star ranking received next to their post count on all their posts. A whole separate set of ranks is pointless.

This is a bad idea, this is not the way to encourage people to post responsibily. Some of the most responsible, mature, intelligent players dont ever post at all, yet they lurk andread the forums and dev posts all the time. You guys are making things way to complicated (which is what you do with everything) and are going about the wrong way to reward people. And all of the Star rank names are really corny by the way.

Ever heard of Keep It Simple, Stupid?

You need to reward the veterans who have been here the longest, first and foremost. No post count or star rank should give a newer poster a reward or higher rankthat a veteran poster doesnt have, reguardless of the veterans post count or star rating, just because that new poster has a higher post count or star rating.

That is where your system is flawed. If you dont put your veterans first it shows a lack of respect towards them, it's a slap in the face.

Veterans should NOT have to continually up there post count to achieve the next rank just to recieve a reward that should be a standard forum feature.

A veteran, someone who has been playing this game since launch, (and for most of them, following this game since it's conception and participating in beta) with a post count of 1, should not be out-rewarded or out-promoted by a new poster with a post count of 270.

Here is how I would reccommend seting up a ranking system:

1 month: Rank/Title 1

50 posts: Avatar Set A

3.1 average: Reward A

3 month: Rank/Title 2 Avatar Set A Reward A

75 posts: Avatar Set B

3.2 average: Reward B

6 month: Rank/Title3 Avatar SetB Reward B

100 posts:Avatar Set C

3.5 average: Reward C

9 month: Rank/Title4 Avatar SetC Reward C

125 posts: Avatar Set D

3.7 average: Reward D

12 month: Rank/Title5 Avatar SetD Reward D

175 posts: Avatar Set E

4.0 average: Reward E

15 month: Rank/Title6 Avatar SetE Reward E

250 posts: Avatar Set F

4.2 average: Reward F

18 month: Rank/Title7 Avatar SetF Reward F

350 posts: Avatar Set G

4.5 average: Reward G

21 month: Rank/Title8 Avatar SetG Reward G

500 posts: Avatar Set H

4.7 average: Reward H

24 month: Rank/Title9 Avatar SetH Reward H

1000 posts:Avatar Seti

4.9 average:Reward i

27+ month: Rank/Title 10 Avatar SetiReward i

Each month set a poster recieves a new rank/title, avatar set and reward. If he qualifies for the sub-categories of that month set he can also recieve another avatar set and reward. Otherwise he will recieve that avatar set and reward with the next month set. With this method, veterans do not have to continually "up" there post count just to recieve rewards and higher ranks. However if they want to or already qualify for the sub-categories post count and post rating, then they can recieve rewards early. No newer poster will ever have something an older poster doesnt have, reguardless of post count. However two posters of equal participation time can have diffrent ranks and rewards if one poster qualifies for the sub-categories and the other does not. But the one who does not will recieve those same rewards as time progresses.

i removed my starrateings as there are to many idiots giving 1 star just for fun or when they disagree on a topic so i find rating for stars stupid.
