The change on Panic Shot works fine, it's useless now. Since I have no dizzy as a Pistoleer / Smuggler PistolMeeleDefense1 and LowBlow are more or less useless, too, now.

That means I have exactly 2 specials left from a full combat profession and a half. LastDitch and FanShot.


At least I can still FeignDeath, I'm afraid I will have to, more than ever.



PS: I hope after helping the carbineers you will fix Pistoleer in P8 since now we are the most bugged ranged profession.

Quick fixes to make the game fun now: NPCs using weapons and special attacks, reduced resistances on all except faction armor and percentbased encumbrance, faction armor craftable with improved resistances with limited use schematics from recruiters, no permadeath for faction pets, doc buffs percentbased, fixed BH mission payouts, more imperial crackdown activities, replace SBDs on the corvette with high ranking NPCs, reintroduce a Jedi TEF, reward overt players with improved payouts and faction gains

keltorr u clearly arent a melee fighter, it might work on 20m if the target is standing still, but it arent while chasing someone, then its more like 13m, so please drop the whine cus u got whopped by a melee class when u thought u could kite him

Tb though, this must have been one of the worst nerfs ever on defence, does it even work ? i mean even nuna's are hitting so often that im not sure wether they are related to jedi's or not, also what seems pretty pathetic is that they rollback crafting, allthough most crafters do like it after trying it for a few hours, but stuff like panic shot/warcry and defence is totally overlooked, the only ppl happy about this are the dancers, i agree that before it was a tad too much, but this is ridicolus, would love to see someone tell us what is going on, cus im pretty sure that not even the dev's know, i liked the big explanation on what they did to DE and so on, while defence got a "put a cap on defence to prevent stacking" if tkm melee and pistoleer melee def doesnt stack, u shouldnt name both melee, cus its so misleading.


One thing is for sure though, atm soe are acting as if they couldnt care less, when they arent respondig, whats this forum for anyway ? even a "we know its broken and are looking into it" or a "yes its that nerfed that we might as well just had removed all defence" would be nice, cus then we would know what we had to work with.

Once again, answer the damn questions.. or simply tell us that your not going to.. dont just sit on your **edit**in hands while all of your customers sit around frustrated. I have to admit that this game of cat and mouse has grown tiresome and if i weren't so addicted to his game i would quite. Have some respect for your customers. thanks.

Good job on fixing Carbineer. Sounds llike they are all working
Good Job on updating the HAR So the accuracy bonuses work. although why the HEAVY acid rifle is the only acid weapon in the game that is not at least AP1 absolutely boggles the mind.


Panic Shot is worthless, Iam for the most partunable to get more than the one mob in my limited cone to effectively delay them. Panic shot is no longer a viable special for me anymore.


Play a Smuggler!!! One of three iconic classes in all of Starwars. Han Solo, Land Calrissian anyone? Of course there is no content for you. Now that the other two Iconic classes are having, or have had, their revamps (Creature Handlers, and Image Designers). We will finally get our moment in the sun.........right?


At least I can understand Lekku!!

Ok, considering the significant changes to the defense mods and how they function i think it is only fair that TH explain fully with numbers what changes have been made. Ive personally changed my player template numerous time to accomadate SOE changes, the only thing i ask is i know what they are.


What is the cap on defense mods?


Why isn't the cap visible in skill window(this would resolve all the questions i think)


Does the cap affect Melee and ranged defense mods as well? They were not listed.


Why do character below the suspected cap(125) report higher to hit rates from pve?


When can we expect a rebalance on some of the PVE mobs out there(nightsisters, etc) that are nearly impossible to engage anymore?


Lasty, from me anyways. Please be very specific to avoid further confusion. Dont come back with a 2 line answer and further frustrate everyone.

THE DEFENSEMOD CAPIS THE MOST IMPORTANT

ISSUE WE ARE CURRENTLYFACING IN SWG.

CAN YOU PLS ANSWER OURQUESTIONSAND JUST POST WHAT THE CHANGES WERE SUPPOSED TO BE? ONCE WE KNOW WHAT THE CHANGESWERE SUPPOSED TO BE THEN WE CAN GIVE YOU FEEDBACK WEATHER IT WORKS OR IT DOESN'T. IT SEEMS TO ME LIKE THIS DEV FORUM ISA JOKE. YOU KNOW YOU COULD SAVE YOURSELVES ALOT OF BRAINWORK IF YOU WOULD JUST POST EXACTLY WHAT IS GETTING CHANGED ON THE PATCH NOTES AND NOT FILL IT WITH RIDDLES. THAT IS THE REASON TO HAVE PATCH NOTES.

ALSO, IF YOU DO SOMETHING LIKE PUT A CAP ON SKILLS I WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE TO SEE THAT REFLECTED IN MY MODIFIERS SCREEN. SOMEONE POSTED A GOOD IDEA ON THIS THREAD THAT OUR MODIFIER SCREEN SHOULD BE AN ACTIVE REFLECTION OF WHAT MODS ARE CURRENTLY EFFECTING YOU.

ALSO, WHAT ARE THE NUMBERS ON THE TO HIT MODIFIERS, MAYBE YOU SHOULD THINK OF INCLUDING THAT KIND OF INFORMATION INTO A GUI AS WELL.

LASTLY, PLS DON'T TRY TO ADD MORE NEW THINGS WHEN THE OLD ONES ARE STILL BROKEN. I UNDERSTAND THAT ITS A PROCESS AND YOU CANT DO IT IN ONE PATCH AND THERE WILL BE IMBALANCES DURING THAT TIME, BUT THERE IS NO REASON TO ADD COMPLETELY NEW CRAP LIKE THESE NEW THEMES YOU GUYS ARE DOING. JUST FOCUS ON FIXING WHAT WE HAVE AND NOT ON COMPLETELY NEW IDEAS. I THINK THAT 90% OF THE PLAYERS WOULD BACK ME ON THIS ONE. NEW THINGS ARE GREAT AND NECCEARY BUT AFTER YOU'VE ESTABLISHED BALANCE.

As far as I can tell Panic Shot is totally worthless now, especially since it's very rare for it to work twice in a row.

I'm a Master Smuggler 3344 Pistoleer.

I don't expect it to get un-nerfed really, but I am kind of curious as to what the justification was.

Seriously, YOU HAVE TO TELL US WHAT THE CAP IS, WHAT IT EFFECTS AND HOW MUCH WE CAN ENHANCE IT WITH FOOD,SKILLS(CoB),Spices,etc.

The bad thing about this is people have been asking exactly which defenses will stack and which will be capped and what the cap is for weeks or evenfor months ever since we heard it was coming. You would think the devs would take the hint and include the exact numbers in the publish notes instead of just sortve glossing over it with a couple of sentences. I agree with nearly everyone here that withholding this information from PAYING CUSTOMERS is extremely aggravating and in NO WAY HELPS THE GAME. We need this information and we deserve to have it RIGHT NOW. I dont pay my fifteen dollars a month to get jerked around on a chain like this. Doing something very simple like actually showing your defenses at the capped value in your skill mods would have easily solved the problem but apparently that didnt occur to the devs either or they are just plain trying to hide things from us.

Here is a lesson in how to design a character for a ROLE PLAYING GAME (thats the last 3 letters of the acronym mmorpg)


1 - Read the descriptions of the classes (not the stats)


2 - Decide on a concept, the role you want to play in the game


3 - Develop a personality to go with that role.


4- Pick the classes that best fit that role -


Want to be the hidden sniper? Rifleman Ranger
Want to be the pistol wielding crook? Smuggler pistoleer

5- Level those classes and play the role of your concept...



Notice i fail to mention working out exactly how much defense each class gives you or how much speed, well you get what the devs think a character that fills the role you have chosen think you should get, thats all that matters...


Play the game, play your character, if you just want to run around killing things go buy Jedi outcast, Doom 3 or whatever FPS takes your fancy... SWG is a ROLE PLAYING GAME and thanks to all the whinging min-maxers and powergamers who don't understand this the devs are having great difficulties in getting it balanced.







Hi! If you want to play a game with "classes" pick up EverQuest. This is SWG... it is INTENDED that you mix up skills & professions. That's not "cheating" an "exploit" or "illegal." This is a profession/skill-based game, NOT A CLASS-BASED GAME!!!


If you want to be a level 54 Mage... pick an appropriate game... SWG isn't it!

Unlike many traditional roleplaying games, there are no "levels" in Star Wars Galaxies™: An Empire Divided™. Instead, your character's advancement is much more flexible. Star Wars Galaxies is built around a skill-based system, in which the skills you possess largely define your character's abilities and relative strengths.


You may decide to make your character a jack-of-all-trades by learning many different professions, though each time you add a new profession, the skill point cost for gaining new skills increases. Instead you may concentrate on just a few areas for specialization, achieving mastery in just one or two professions. The higher-tier skills are generally more expensive to acquire, in both skill points and credits; they also have more rigorous prerequisites. Every character has a maximum learning capacity (pool of skill points) so no character will be able to master every skill at the same time.








Roleplaying and multi-professions are NOT mutually exclusive. Being an informed player DOES NOT NEGATE ROLE PLAYING! Roleplaying is acting out a ROLE, not throwing blind faith that you'll be effective in playing out that role because of the vague and uninformative description the devs have provided us with. If you disagree, go buy yourself a combat droid... see how much "combat" you accomplish with it.

SOE. consider bringing back tefs, city warn, perma-death and/or skill loss, they were not bad concepts they just needed some tweaking.
