Thread: Weekly Rountdable Discussion (Week ending 1-10-04)
Politician
- Ownership of Structures - Mayors must be able to see exactly who lives in any given structure in their city, so if problems with it arise, they know who to contact.
- Improved Terrain Tolerance - With the current building tolerance, it is extremely hard to place structures in mountainous terrain. Not all cities are located on flat terrain, and the ones that aren't shouldn't be penalized through as badly as they currently are.
- Player Garages - Im not sure why this wasn't included in the vehicles patch. If im on dantooine, I dont want to have to go all the way to corellia to get my vehicle fixed.
- City Attraction - There is currently no major reason for players to flock to player cities that they don't live in. This will take longer to fix than the others, obviously, but it should be thought of.
- Gardens -
Garden footprints are incredibly large and require virtually flat terrain. Their terrain tolerance needs to be bumped way up, and their footprints need to decrease.
Exotic gardens shouldn't require the same amount of resources for each size. It doesn't make sense for a small exotic garden to cost the same 14 walls that a large exotic garden does.
Gardens currently redeed other city structures when they are redeeded. If a city structure is close to a garden that is being redeeded, that structure will be redeeded.
Community Policies
- More Game Information - For many professions, players are left in the dark to figure out what defenses stack profession to profession, whether they are capped or not, what those caps are, and what various mods do. (ex, melee defense vs dodge). We would like the dev team to put up a guide that shows us what the caps are, along with the other information, so we don't waste months building up a character to find their defenses don't work together.
- More dev professionalism - We feel like the dev team pushes out patches and stealth nerfs without ever considering the results on the players. For instance, in their latest patch, they tried to disable uber-bioengineered creatures, but ended up disallowing any bioengineered resistance pet from being called. We ask that
- The devs test their patches, even emergency nerfs, on testcenter
- Patches will notintroduce gamebreaking errors for players.
- Better production values - Huge balance changes and revamping should have been done prior to the game being released. It isn't fair to the players that work hard to achieve a goal, and then to rip it away from them (aka nerfing) rather than bringing something else up to compensate. Such huge balancing that is going on now shows very little direction in the game's production. Thus, we ask
- Stop trying to balance things by nerfing.
- Stop trying to fix what is already working. At this point in the game's lifecycle your focus should be to add new content and fix bugs, not to keep tinkering with balacing.
- Listen to the community. We are the ones that pay for your service. Just because it doesn't fit your vision doesn't mean you should only have things your way. For example, in the petition to change it so insurance wouldn't result in any delay was shot down by the devs because it didn't fit their vision. WE have a vision too, and our collective voice should come above how a few people think the game should be.

- Defense acurity isn't working at all. Thus, COB isn't working at all either.
Ideas
- Additional PvsP geared faction - Hutts. On servers, PvsP is limited only to rebels versus imperial, and sometimes finding a random opponent can be hard. Thus, another faction geared toward the PvsP gamershould be allowed - the Hutts.
- Overt Hutts will be targetable by all players, similar to a jedi that uses force powers.
- Overt Hutts will not be able to attack players until they are attacked first.
- Overt Hutts will be able to target each other. They will not be able to come to one another's aid in a fight unless they too are attacked (or in the same group).
- Will be able to switch between overt and covert at their choosing, eliminating the need to visit recruiters tiresomely if they just want a challenge by going overt again. There should be a short timer on this to prevent griefing, such as 15 minutes to go from overt --> covert.
- This PvsP geared class will allow for a challenging experience for the PvsP hardcore crowd, while not forcing players to join either rebel or imperial to experience random PvsP.
- Finally, because this profession is really designed for PvsP, there will be no need for faction points, or rewards to those belonging to it.
- Unlocking Jedi. I have no ideas for how to do this, but I will say this much. Forcing players to master professions that they have no care for, only to have them to grind through them, makes for a tiring, unfun experience to the game, and does not allow for all players to participate (some just can't sacrifice the skillpoints). This shows a total lack of oversight by the development team, and really dumbs down the game by forcing players to grind through professions as fast as they can. There needs to be a better system to obtain jedi that allows even those who can't sacrifice their skill points ways to obtain jedi.
I sincerely hope this post is thoughtfully read by the development team, even if it is not acted on.
I'll add some more..
- Fix the Ubese helm, and other headwear, crashes. PLEASE!!!

- How about adjusting mission levels a little. I'm finding that the mission levels are way off. Had 3 TKs and BH grouped and the best we got was level 35 missions.. that's a doable mission for a solo TK, let alone 3 of them.. Maybe selectable difficultly levels?
- Fix the vehicle repair exploit.
- Fix the vehicles not keeping their repairs
- Fix vehicles storing 3 minutes after being exited
- Fix the greater then allowed CH pet exploit.
- Give some incentive to join the GCW.
- Fix the /con system
I collected all Friday Features that are missing on the Index and postet them in your Friday Feature Index Thread : http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=game_guides&message.id=101231
will you ever add them to the list?
Hey devs, I'm liking the new set up. I actually feel like somebody from SOE might actually read this!
Here's a list of bugs that have been bothering me for quite awhile, or just really badly (I'm not angry at any of them, because I understand how hard it is to program something like this, but they are bugs I think need serious attention):
-The chair slide bug. REALLY annoying. I'm getting sick of having to "resit" twice before I can get my toon to stay put and not look like some idiot sitting on his "invisible bench." I hope the dev's aren't just pushing this to the bottom of their list because it's a small bug. It's ANNOYING. EVERYBODY would cheer if this was fixed. No more warping out of the room when you're in the middle of a conversation, or ending up sitting on some Rodian's lap.
-The warping when dismounting vehicles. This has caused me TONS of deaths, and a lot of frustration. Warping 10m or so is OK, I guess, but warping back 100m from where I was? Really annoying!
-The no animations when mounting pets and vehicles. We need an animation. I think it's safe to say that "appearing" on top of your ride doesn't really scream "polish."
-BH droids need to be fixed. I dropped BH awhile ago, but for the sake of current BH's, they need to be fixed. This includes Jedi Bounties being do-able, and also the droid speed bug.
-Droids changing colors every time you call them. My droid does this all the time, even though he's brand new. I've had a DE recolor him, and that fixed it for a little while, but after about a day he started changing colors again. "Your droids customization has completely faded away...."
And, on a more broad note, something I'd like to see added would be profession-specific content. The closest thing I see is Jedi BH missions... but I think every profession should have a themepark and other types of "never ending" missions (PLEASE no more randomly generated missions in their current form, though... SO BORING. Destroy and Delivery can only be so fun in their current state. Once you've mastered a combat profession, these missions seem pointless.).
Please take a good look at Master Bounty Hunter. Having no defenses against these combat template supermen is ridiculous. Master Bounty Hunter in PvP might as well be Master Floor Mop. I'm not asking to be uber for this profession. I just want to be able to compete. Currently any dabbler can wipe the floor with a MBH.
Jedi on Sunrunner are spreading and thrivinglike durni. I ask you to turn the switch on for the jedi missions and please fix our droids.
Speaking of droids, why is it that at MBH our droids take longer than at lower levels of the Investigation tree?
HAM cost on carbines. Can you believe this hasn't beenfixed? It's been months since it's been recognized.
BOUNTY HUNTER DROID FIX, PLEASE. It's been a half a year and they're still broken as Hell.
Thank you.
Excellent Idea!
Known actual Bugs with Jedi
1) Bounty Hunter missions/TEFs never expire. I am not sure if the fact that the mission is around forever is a bug or not, but even after the Jedi is killed, the BH can still attack, as can any other that has the mission. (A friend of mine was slain, then immediately attacked by the same BH in the cloning facility as he loaded)
2) /HealStateOther does not remove states from others
3) Saber one Hand Flurry does not inflict any states upon enemies that are hit with it
4) Not positive if this is a bug or not either, but I might as well bring it up- Force Power tree seems to have little effect on actual regeneration rate. Jedi Start with +1, at first level get +1 as well. Not sure if this is correct logic or not, but seems as though the rate should double...
4) Jedi, when first created, have only 10 Force till they train in their first skill
5) We seem to get randomly TEFed for no apparent reason. (example- I was looking through someones vendor the other day and was ejected to due a TEF. I didn't have my saber equipped nor did I use a force power, checked combat to make sure I hadn't accidentaly pressed it)
6) Again, not sure if this is a bug or not, but Jedi does not seem to have any damage mitigation. I wouldn't bring this up, but we seem to be the only class without it.But, this may be intentional...
7) Not sure if this is just a Jedi issue or not, but some of us do not have the certification to use a republic blaster... could come in handy when trying to kill those pesky kreedles ![]()
Thanks again for the chance to give some input!
Please give us back colored item names.... its VERY VERY VERY important for merchants from the merchandising/advertising/offering a good, easy to understand variety/branding the products point of view.
I really hope it can be back, it is so very very useful thing.
1. Bounty Hunter - As has been mentioned quite a lot so far, we'd like to be able to keep the jedi populations in check for you please.
Also, with the recent defence additions that we missed out on, we miss in pvP around 95% of the time, and in return are HIT 95% of the time, making useffectively unviable as a PvP class.
2. Commando - As far as I'm aware, has 2 broken and 1 overpowered branches. Please fix the two broken ones, and then downpower *slightly* the Flamethrower. Also,Commandossame defensive/accuracy problems that BHs do.
3. Pikemen - "Couldn't hit the ground if they dropped their weapon". And this was BEFORE the defence boosts!!
4. Carbineers - TheHAM costs for their Specials (In fact, ALL Carbine Specials) is far, far too high and really needs to be brought down to sane levels please.
5. 1% decay on insured items - I believe that the insurance scheme itself is enough of a money sink without the need to have people's hard-earnt equipment falling apart despite insuring it. It's especially frustrating with the rarer or more expensive items. Leave the 5% decay for uninsured items by all means, but please remove the 1% for death while insured. Also, there have been reports of bugged decay (IE 15-20% decay per death despite being insured) that you may like to look into.
Thank you.
