I disagree with those who do not think a smuggler is a combat class. I would say it is as much a combat class as any of the others, and it is certainly more of a combat class than scout or ranger. Did they not include scout and ranger because they have some place in combat? A smuggler has much more of a place. A smuggler smuggles goods for profit, but he always runs the chance of getting caught, and when he does what does he do? He FIGHTS his way out of it!!! Look at the movies and the books for goodness sake. Everyone knows Han Solo is a smuggler, and what was he always doing? Fighting his way in or out of some mess.
It would be really nice if they would at least tell us why it is that smuggler is not being considered here. How is it that smuggler does not fit in to SWG combat? We require pistol 4 and unarmed combat 4 which is 2 times the combat requirement of any non-hybrid elite combat profession. We need millions of pistol xp for our skills in smuggler. We have a whole skill discipline devoted to PvP. We have another one that gives some of the best combat specials in the game. How is it that we are not considered combat while scout and ranger are? What do scouts and rangers do? Build camps, throw traps for goodness sake!!! They get a few mods vs creatures. Whoopty do!!!
well, let me first say i have alot of resspect for Mor-Danbecause he wrote like 3 pages, and most of his points were good. But for goodness sakes, lets get real, i could swing a sword at a guy with not weapons and hit him. in NO way should a TKM just "own" a 2h-swordsman, neither a fencer.......i mean you know for a fact that TKM's would lose a hand. but i do agree with the dodging of TKMs and fencers, that is very good, but a pikeman is lumbering a two handed swordsman has a sword, its not like a 2-H is swing a 2x4 at you. i guess the TKM could always catch the sword between his palms though..........maybe.
i know that TKMs are awesome and everything, but it doesn't mean they should own every brawler class.

Of course, I am biased cuz i just cancelled mine, deleted SWG from my comp, and went back to EQ.

And how exactly do you plan on getting the resources from the hunting? Note I don't disagree with you in general.

The Devs are scared to death of any threat to their "Little Database That Couldn't".
Pack animals would be great, but not until the database gets overhauled.
Having a "trunk" in my vehicle would be great, but not until the database gets overhauled.
It's absurd that they could take a high-end database (Oracle) and break it so badly that 250,000 players can't have decent storage capacity. This same database is used by merchants and banks and stuff doing millions and billions of mission-critical transactions per day but it can't be used to run this game system as coded by our beloved Devs.
