Already posted this in the visual buff topic, but I thought it might be a good idea to put it here too.

TH, I must also say I'm mostly happy with the system, it could use some tweaks, but hey, what can't? The only major problem I have found with it, is this: travelling via shuttle seems to effect the timer. For example, when I was hunting on Endor, I didn't do too much travelling via shuttle, just the odd trip for training back to Theed. As my buffs wore off, I noticed that the buff would fade a few seconds before the icon would dissapear. Not a big deal, didn't think much of it.

However, now that I'm a Bounty Hunter, and every 10 min or so I seem to be hopping a shuttle, the discrepancy gets worse and worse. A couple of nights ago, I was fighting a mark, and suddenly my health starts dropping like a rock! I thought at first I was just getting a royal whuppin, then I realized my health buff had worn off. I glanced at the meter, and all the buff icons were still there. After killing the mark, I checked the timers, and they said I still had another 20 min left to go. As I always get buffs from the same people, I know it was not a problem with the buff pack. The only thing I can think of causing this is the load screen in between shuttles.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Hail,

Personnaly i only get 2 questions

  1. Did it s require to master more than one classe for get a luck to unlock FSS ? Personaly i m on the way for Master bounty hunter. A bounty Hunter without a bounty hunter's spirit it s like a cheese without wine ( sorry i m french =P). I don t want to play a tera kasi or anything else. I wish to be able to unlock this FSS with my bounter hunter and nothing else. Some player don t stop to change class for get FSS bye following holocron order or only for get the most powerfull char in PvP. With the futur update Bounty Hunter will be one of the weaker combat class. But we are few to don t care about it.We are few to think , become a bounty hunter is not a holocron order but a style of life.

2. May we get infos about the space extension? All the updates are cool but all players are waiting for this add on. The one who left swg are waiting on it for back. We didn t get any info about it exepted the old one when SWG was on his first step , before beta testing . So it look like a bit old no??? Some concret info and some screen shot ll not be bad at all.

On it thx for your answer ( if you are able to understand what i mean with my crap english ) and good luck.

Would it hurt to give shuttles a sound effect so I can browse a vendor and hear the little bastards land?

Why are Jedi penalized by being charged force points instead of a HAM cost for simple saber specials? Isn't a saber just a laser sword? Why do I need the force to attack something? I know auto attacking is free but come on, if I attack a target's head specifically my crappy saber makes it cost half my force pool. Am I the only one wondering about this nonsense?

I see the push for publish 7 is going ahead, before the fixes introduced with publish 6 have been fixed.

CH bugs.

Pets auto storing in combat / out of combat. Just after you called them.

Pets not following. Mounted pets and pets told to “Follow target” stop still once they reach their intended PC target.

Pets at 0 meters. Even though this was “Fixed” in a minor patch pets are still doing it. Call three pets + 1 droid and all are stood over you until a formation is called.

General Bugs.

Dizzy is NOT keeping people on the floor or stopping attacks. All it is doing is creating a fall down animation. NPC’s and PC’s can still attack and deathblow while lying Dizzy on the ground.

Lairs Warping multiple times, I’ve walked over 3km chasing one lair as it updated 4 times.

Lairs Disapearing on the “Boss Mob” damage code.. At the point where a lair would spawn a “Boss Mob” half the time it is disappearing if pets are in a group.

I’ve stopped playing any GCW content, due to the mixture of CH and Dizzy bugs, I was just working on completing my current profession before I drop it to do my FCS Weaponsmith profession (after amassing enough materials to get me at least half way)

But now, after reading the current state of fcs, I wonder if it’s even worth doing it as a step on the road. Should I just dump all my current professions and go TKA/Doc?

WE NEED CONFIRMATION

That when the new FS unlock method changes were will get FULL credit for the hundreds (or thousands) of hours of grinding we have done under the currentpoorly designed system. I'm on #24 and I sure as hell won't contiune playing if I don't get credit for every second I spent on this grind.

That was stated when it was first announced (whatever the original post was) that credit for grinding and such would be given.

Astu (Valcyn)

It was stated that "credit" would be given for progress under the current system. That doesn't even come close to saying enough. Do my 24 professions represent the same work as someone who has done 4 holo professions?

Yes.

"Credit" needs to be explicitly stated as "If you're on your silent holocron, you're 4/5ths of the way to unlocking your slot, and for each silent holo prof you've mastered, you're that much closer to unlocking."

Steenking badges do not cut it in this situation. Tangible, verifiable credit toward unlocking the FS slot is a requirement in this change. To do anything else would be a blatant betrayal of players, and further tarnish the already less than sterling reputation this game has in the wider gaming community.

I don't know about other servers, but on my server the random spawns on Dantooine are almost non-existent. Other advanced planets, like Dath and Endor seem to have healthy and plentiful spawns. But Dantooine you can drive 1000's of meters and never see a non-mission lair. Any chance of this being looked into by whoever?

Number of issues here that I think need to be addressed.

1) Players need to be able to see damage done to buffed HAM. A buff can easily increase one's 1000 by another 2500, so if we don't get to see any white bar until all that 2500 is gone, we have little idea of how we're doing until it's practically too late. Having to hit Ctrl+C, or Alt followed by placing our cursor on our HAM bars, is a very inconvenient mode of monitoring our health while in the heat of combat. Since we can see the dmg done to group members' HAMs, how about changing our own HAM bars to be like those of the group?

2) Please address not being able to enter player structures while TEFed. A poster had a great idea, and that was to allows TEFed players to enter buildings, but make those buildings accessible to anyone attacking the players while the players are TEFed to avoid the camping problem. I personally think that the system should go back to the way it was originally, as lots are limited and camping could only go so far, but the poster's idea is way better than what we have now...where the minute you attack an opposing faction, a forcefield magically comes down over EVERY player-owned structure and magically fades when your TEF does. And getting kicked out of a player city med center for healing or buffing an overt? Now the healing/buffing will take place OUTSIDE of the med center, and that makes no sense at all that it has to be done that way.

3) Could we have a "tired" status indicator for after we finish a burst run? 8 or 9 minutes is a bit of time for recovery so it's hard to know exactly when we can burst run again--sure, we can solve this problem with some esoteric timer macro, but hardly anyone knows that and I doubt it's that hard to add a status indicator...hey, it worked for TEFs (a good idea by the way).

4) I think that the paths for cloning and shuttle boarding need to be switched. In other words, if you have only one ticket, once that boarding window pops up you should be able to hit Enter and board automatically, rather than having to select a destination first. Shuttles leave without much warning and I've periodically been left JUST as I was selecting my destination or trying to hit OK. Very time-sensitive. On the other hand, you should not automatically clone when you hit Enter, but should have to select a cloning facility first, even if there's only one. Know why? Because after you die, there may be things you need to say to your group before you clone ("I'm down, need a rez", "look out for A who's doing most of the damage" etc), and it's a pain to have to wait for that cloning window, then hit Alt to get rid of it...and in the heat of battle you want to say things fast...but hitting Enter to talk may very well clone you instead of sending your message through. It's a minor change, but one of those things that would really make gaming smoother.

5) Range needs to be addressed: 20m is far too great for a brawler,as that's a pistol's ideal range. I suggest a maximum range of 10m. Combat medic bio weapons also continue to have a range greater than that of a sniper, which is absurd.

6) Characters still teleport when dismounting from vehicles, and vehicles still disappear randomly.

7) As for taking insured decay out of factional and PvP conflicts, please leave that as it is.

I have a bad feeling about this nerf

Yup, I fail to see the point in the "save password" option

My thoughts toward those questioning whether the FS slot has been turned off or not because of the reduced number of unlocking is this: If it was turned off, there would be none at all being unlocked. My guess is that once it was announced that the holocrons/profession grinding was to become a thing of the past with the next publish, many people stopped trying to do it that way. Most of those who were actually doing the profession grinding that I know personally in-game did quit at that point. I'm quite happy to hear that holo-grinding is going away...it hurt many crafters who were in a class because they wanted to be in that class (people holo-grinding selling off grinded goods at a serious discount) and pissed off many entertainers (because it just encouraged AFK entertaining). Besides which, where did you ever read or see a Jedi that became one by mastering a bunch of different professions? It really caters to the power-gamers. While even a quest-based system tends to eliminate casual and/or weekend gamers, it makes it much more a role-playing game.

Is there a place where known bugs are listed? It would be nice to have a place to check and see. Plus it would be a convienient place for updates on the status for these bugs.

I think SOE and the dev team have made a start in improving comunication with the new forums/pages for "In Development", "In Test" and so on, but there's still a long way to go in many ways. I realize that some things are kept secret for a reason, but something more specific that "we are working on a solution" is needed.

All the buzz about the Publish 7 crafting changes looks to me like it's coming from people who want the best results without putting the maximum effort in. I haven't tried it on test and I only know what I've heard, but it sounds to me to be a good thing. It prevents people fromgetting 1 or 2 trees in a profession and achieving the same results as a Master. This goes right back to the Creature Handler changes a few months back: it gave the best benefits to the people who were devoted to the class instead of to those who were "dabbling" in it (I'm not a CH and never would be personally, but it was so nice to see the decrease in huge pets stomping around Theed and everywhere you turned). These changes look to be an effort to give more reward to people who have taken the time to master a crafting class and actually stick with it.

As far as current crafting bugs, I still occassionally have two or more critical fails in a row. I thought this wasn't supposed to happen. Backing out of the crafting mode and restarting with the same or a different tool generally fixes the problem, but it doesn't help in the resources that were lost. At this point I usually just back out of crafting mode with any critical fail on assembly. I look forward to the promise of fewer critical fails on crafting and experimentation for masters.

I agree with wanting the ability to stack crates higher than they currently are. Seems like if a schematic can be made up to 1000 items you should be able to have that in a single crate (you can split a crate into smaller segments if you want to). With all the issues with space and storage, it would be a great help. I would think it would also cut down on database issues since a factory run would produce one crate instead of 40 or more.

The rumors for Merchant changes were that people who had vendors but no longer had the skill to have those vendors would lose them. Is there any update on this? It seems like this should be classified as an exploit to me. Half the time people don't stock them anyway so they're just taking up space most of the time.

I'm also curious as to what is planned for Politician. They're one of those classes that it doesn't make much sense to master since there's really nothing to be gained at the master slot (or much reason to keep a skill once something has been placed). There really needs to be a way for Mayor's to have more control over the operations of their city: some form of /citywarn (or a /cityban that does more than keep them out of a handful of buildings), a way to resign from running for mayor, and a way to have more control over their citizens in the case of griefers or people just generally being mean or unruly. A way of posting city laws would be nice, too.

I haven't seen much recent feedback on the "Top 5 Issues" posted in profession forums. There is some great information there that would help in identifying the concerns most important to each profession, but there isn't a lot of official feedback for them. Goes back to communication.

Overall I've really been happy with the past couple of publishes. The week-long rollout is wonderful for those on dial-up. It may cut down on playable time throughout the week, but at least it doesn't take them out of commission for an entire day. Having themed publishes are nice, too. I realize every profession wants their improvements first, but it seems like a good way to fix a lot of the problems with one or two classes at a time. Would it be possible to get a glimpse of what profession is scheduled for when? It doesn't even have to have a ton of detail about what is going to be added or changed, just something like April will be X class, May will be Y class, June will be Z class. Even if things don't go quite the way it was planned, a glimpse at the dev schedule in relation to fixes as profession revamps would be really great.

hehe I just can't resist, this is a quote from a thread somewhere in the jedi forum:

Changing a lightbulb in SWG
Poster1: It's dark, what's happening?
Poster2: I don't know, but there seems to be a bug...
LightCorrespondant: It seems that the light is out, anyone else getting this bug?
Poster3 & 4: Yes, it's dark.
LightCorrespondant: I have made the devs aware of this bug, we don't know when it's going to be fixed at this time...
Poster5: I can't do anything in the dark, this is just like SOE! We're still playing beta 4!
Poster6: OMG THEY STEALTH NERFED LIGHT!
Poster7: No no, it's probably just a bug...
TH: We are aware of the issue, can you please post time and location of when the light went out?
Poster8: I was just playign SWg, and it went dark...
Poster9: I had the same thing, i was on tatooine killing a bunch of banthas and it went dark...
TH: Ok, we think we know what's causing this, the lightbulb is broken... We are currently investigating to see if we can replace it.
Poster10: Pff this sucks, i can't see anything, SOE sucks, SWG sucks, i'm going to play FFXI...
Poster11: I have faith in the devs, they'll get the lightbulb fixed!
Runesabre: Our light dev is currently working on the issue, it seems the lightbulb will need replacing, he is checking to see wether we have a replacement or not...
Poster11: Great job devs! I have confidence in you to get the lightbulb changed!
Poster12: WE TOLD THEM THE LIGHTBULB WOULD BREAK! BUT THEY DIDNT LISTEN TO US! NOW IT'S BROKEN!
Jessea: Guys please keep the feedback constructive...
Poster13: This is taking a long time, i can't see anything, i want my light back!
Runesabre: Ok, we know wich lightbulb we need to replace, but we don't have a spare in the building, we are checking the schedule to see when someone can go to the departement store and buy a new one...
LightCorrespondant: Thanks for your patience guys, i know the devs are working hard to get this light fixed, we just need a little bit more patience...
Poster15: I've been playing with light on since forever, i'm not going to change. You're doing a great job LightCorrespondant, keep going!
Poster16: Well this is great, 2 months ago the lightswitch was broken, and now the LIGHTBULB is! People playing with the light on have had it rough for the last few months, i'm considering leaving SWG...
Poster17:What'd you expect? It's SOE...
Runesabre: Ok i'm sorry gys but I'm afraid we can't go and buy a new lightbulb until the next publish, it requires a lot of precious dev time we just can't spare atm...
Weeks passes, people play with the light off, newt Publish arrives on TC...
TH: We have replaced the lightbulb, please make sure light is back on!
Tester1: It's still off...
Rogue_5: My bad, i forgot to turn on the switch, I'm doing that now and rebooting the server...
Tester1: The light is flickering now, one moment it's on, one moment it's not...
Tester2: I was killing banthas on tatooine and the light kept flickering, can you investigate?
Rogue_5: It seems we didn't screw it in the whole way, we need to take down the server and screw it in fully...
Server is bounced, comes back on...
Tester3: The light is way darker than before, did you change the wattage?
Tester2: Yes the light is way darker than before... did they stealth nerf again?
Rogue_5: Guys it seems we have gotten a replacement bulb with lower wattage, a dev is out right now getting a new one, expect it to be a few days before we can change the light again...
Few days pass, server is bounced, new light is installed...
TH: Please test to make sure the light is now the correct intensity...
Tester1: Yep it works fine now...
TC crashes...
Rogue_5: The new light seems to have caused some server instability, we are investigating...
Hour passes...
Rogue_5: Our fusebox died on us, we are changing the fuses now...
TC comes back up, it is finally fixed...
Publish is pushed to live...
Poster1: The light is flickering with the new publish, something is wrong...
Poster2: Why didn't TC peope catch this? this is my we need CHARACTER COPY!
Th: We forgot to push each server's light in fully, we are hotfixing it tomorrow...
Hotfixed...
Hour passes, all servers crash...
TH: We forgot to change the fuses in each server's box, we will fix it now...
Fuses changed, servers back up, bug finally fixed...

Basically 99% of the problems in this game could be dealt with if the developers took a more active role in listening to what the players want and need. Granted these new forums and weekly threads are a start, but it just isn't enough. I would like to see holo spend a day playing alongside a normal character, seeing some of these problems firsthand. All of the dev's would do well to try and master one of the many mangled professions themselves. I think the problem is that the developers don't have our perspective, and they don't have the motivation because of this. Things could probably be a lot less complicated than they currently are.
