This thread should have been titled:

Great Disappointments, Major Lies Revealed and making SWG lose even more subscribers.

Every other development house out there has got to be laughing at the choices SOE is making here.

I don't know what you are all so surprised about. This is textbook Sony. It's not like they don't have a history of doing things like this, screwing over their existing playerbase in favor of releasing a new expansion.

Welcome to Everquest. You're in OUR World Now

For myself, I am only playing it because my wife enjoys the crafting, and our houses. Most of my time is spent at www.cityofheroes.com.

Face facts, guys. They won't do anything but releaseexpansions until the player community starts talking in the only language that Sony understands. MONEY.

NO MMORPG team has ever learned the lesson of UO, least of all Sony. You won't see any "fixes" or anything that the community actually wants, other than them throwing the odd useless bone *cough*Swoop racing tracks*cough* until the servers start emptying, and the suits start panicking. Then, as if by magic, all the stuff you were promised, and even some things that folks said that they wanted here on the boards will begin mysteriously appearing in patches.

Oh, and mark my words.. Even though according to the mythos of the Star Wars Universe, the path to Jedi is supposed to be a personal journey, in the game it will require raids and 50 or 60 of your closest friends. Heck, you already have to have a group just to get the parts for your lightsaber.

Let me get this straight: my subscription says I pay for
SWG. _NOT_ for the development of the next game. Especially
not for a "twitch game".

I not wanted to play a Jedi, but I also do not PvP, so I
am not on the receiving end of this ...well whatever you
want to call it, it does end in your bad word filter...

I could ignore this. Even when the holowhores hit one of
my characters and favourite professions hard. The other
char was made unable to compete in PvE when his weapons
were balanced (oh.. all others are still waiting for this,
lucky ones...)

Fine. I still continued to play, mostly because of some
people I met.

Now JTL is top prio???
All the problems in SWG are solved when (if?) JTL is launched
successfully???

Well.
For sure: No JTL for me, and some checks if I find another way
to communicate with my ingame friends easily. Then just one less
account on your side.

Oh: If I want to fly, I take off in City of Heroes... by myself.
Maybe I am just not "Star Wars" enough for this game.

regards

Umm, you know, there is an entry for JTL on Amazon.com. If we don't get any answers SOON, some less scrupulous players than me might be inclined to flood that entry with extremely negative reviews.

Of course I would never do such a thing, nudge nudge, wink wink. But someone might....

I don't care how understaffed you are, I don't care about how this is difficult for you guys to say and how you know how disappointed we all will be. I only know one thing and one thing only.

I'm paying for a broken game. Point blank end of discussion.

The only thing I can even hope now is Blizzard breaks this MMO development trend that SOE started. This is not a flame to the devs or what not. I'm just so tired ofthe bait and switch, break it but never fix it, push it back delays, not balancing the glaring unbalances that existeverywhereand year long "temporary" changes. I'm a Bounty Hunter and I so despise the weapon switch timer because it has killed such a huge chunk of the "fun" of being a BH. Now instead of waiting a few months I've got to wait until next year because we all know JTL will be bug plagued and you'll be working on that so the CB will be pushed back further.

As long as the money keeps coming in, the suits will keep screwing over the players. I know it's not the devs fault and what not but this game truly is my first and last SOE product. I'm just not used to this poor poor level of treatment as a player and avid gamer.

This is not constructive I know but I'm so annoyed right now I don't even care and I stopped caring long ago. I do not recommend this game to anyone anymore (I actually used to do that) and in fact I warn them not to buy it. The bad outweighs the good at this point.

One thing I do notice though. You don't see the "don't let the door hit your butt on the way out" responses when people say they are leaving anymore. ..

Straw and camel and all that.

You can only kick a dog so many times before it turna round and rips your arm off. I'm out of here.

Both of my accounts have now been cancelled.

Good luck to those of you that stay, but you're doing no good for the game by doing so... you're just encouraging SoE's attitude of lying to it's player base and thinking they can get away with it. Protesting with your wallet is obviously the only thing they will listen to.

I would cancel but my years sub doesn't finish till december, I won't be buying JTL, I may have considered buying it before this announcement, but now NO WAY.

As far as I can see a twich based game with the lag that the servers have is never going to work anyway, you can't even ride a bike without getting pinged all over the place, So how is going to work with ships, I can already hear the screams as people find that JTL is rushed and unplayable.

Still it's nice to know my sub is paying for devs to write a product that they'll then try to sell to me.

To be honest I think it’s quite simply a disgrace....

I for one haven’t decided whether or not to purchase JTL expansion - So why should my monthly subscription to SWG
be used to develop another game ???

SOE have made this decision to ensure JTL sales will fill their coffers. But they seem to have failed to take into
consideration the loss in revenue that will occur because of peeved off SWG players quitting the game completely.

What should be happening is this - You are taking our money every month, so give us what we want.
Initiate a referendum for all your subscribers to vote

VOTE A - I WANT THE DEVELOPERS FIXING AND DEVELOPING SWG
Or
VOTE B - I WANT THE DEVELOPERS WORKING ON JTL
