You automatically qualify. Hang out in the wilderness and you will be visited in a short period of time. The old man will visit you in the wilderness and send you on a quest.

You still have to do the quests, but there were no rewards or quests before. Now, the path is wrapped in content instead of starting as a brand new Padawan character who was very vulnerable and very hunted.

I can assure you that this is not so.
The way your holo-professions were accounted for is seperate from the badges being displayed through the interface.

It will depend on how many of those 5 professions were holo-professions. This announcement is primarily for people who were trying to finish 32 professions to unlock. Because there was such a strong correlation between how many TOTAL professions were completed and how many holo-professions were unlocked, its a fair guess that if you finished better than 30 professions, you are in the "automatic" crowd.
If you entering into the path based on the new system, then it will depend on if you have met all the requirements.
To be clear:
Lets say Player A has completed 32 professions before publish 10.
Player B has met all the requirements of the new path before publish 10.
Both player A and Player B are eligible for visits by the old man.

My only question is i logged on today finished nyms and got my inner glow message..so that means cuz i didnt get it before pub 10 im not eligable yet???also have 16 prof mastered......4 holos

Without revealing the secret of the new system, can you shed some light on the /check messages and what they mean?
Sooooo, is this refering toHolo-Profs only?
I was trying to find my silent under the old system, but never found it. So would that put me into the "5 Force Sensitive branches will be granted/Automatically qualify" group?
If thats the case, then people mastered 32 profs for almost nothing.

Those of us that were not into grinding out professionsmight beinterested to know how we rank under the new system. I understand that the professions I completed will determine the quests I can skip (if I choose to do so), but if I'm "one with the force" can I expect a visit?
If you logged in today and did the /che, got the Inner Glow message, wait 1-3 days...
