Thread: Desired Rewards
Manufactoring schematics that use generic resources (steel, mineral, inert gas, etc...) that allows crafters to make some cool items in very limited quanities. could be limited to making 1, 3, or 23 items for example. Whatever limits are appropriate.
Perhaps there are some crafting schematics only granted by GCW faction quests, others by other factions. example, a weaponsmith who does some uber jabba quest(s) gets some crafting schematic for a unique weapon (rantok blade perhaps?).
Combat types that do it would get a powerful weapon component. Daoc had a number of quests that were "one time" quests in their entire character life. SWG could all this dynamic to the game to limit the influx of 'special' items.
U see there are Million Loot idears without killing the Player Crafters.
So change things fast.
We lost every Day ppl in our PA because there are not enough things to do for a End Levelt CHar.

unless you give us something to strive for, quest to tackle or zones to enter for new and cool stuff, we will run out of stuff to do and get bored.
EQ and DAOC are very popular for a reason. Crafters are a great idea, and putting them out of business would be bad bc SWG has a good angle with that, but something needs to be added, a page taken out of the book of these games to make SWG thrilling for years, like them.
I think that these "uber schematics" people seem to want are horrible. There SHOULDN'T BE uber items, regardless of how many steps you have to take to get them. The whole "combat gets uber loot, crafter gets money from the sale" thing doesn't work either. Because if you can get an uber item from a quest, then everyone will want todo it. This will cause camping, and will flood the game with uber items that make current ones useless because regardless of what cap you put on the schematic, people can always get more.
What you should have as a reward is unique, non-functional items. Paintings, furniture, droids that don't work (like an IG-88 for my house), dejarik chess board (if that's spelled right), things from Star Wars!!!
That's what we need, not more Krayt or uber component loot (the same as uber loot in my opinion)...
You stated yourself that this isn't suppose to be like EQ or DAOC, so prove it and add things from starwars and NOT uber this, or uber that whether it be a schematic, component, weapon, armor, etc.
Also, as you can see from people wanting different armor, Armorsmith needs to have at least 3 different types of armor for each Personal Armor skill box, and have each piece be customizable (a slider to change the appearance: adding spikes, making emblems, changing shapes).
And while you're at it, give Architects the ability to COLOR the limited amount of furniture that we can make!
I guess that's it for now...
First I'd like to thank the people that came up with the ideas for new name tags, and spending XP to improve crafted items (got to do something with the XP when you max out). Good work people ![]()
I think the badges are a great idea they should be either wearable on your character or as a trophy of some sort for your house. To add to that badges could give you more skill points, like say one for most badges, and 3 for monthly missions and theme park completion. The monthly mission bonus would reward the people that have been playing longer, and add to a since of player development. As you add in other professions it make people try to stretch those limited skill points farther.
As for adding in more skill adds I have mixed emotions on that as I am a Bio-Eng. First I'd like to say "PUT ME OUT OF A JOB WHY DON'T YA" andadditionaly for a player crafted economic base why don't we have tissues for all of the skills? And perhaps we could add tissues to armor?I do however like the idea of skill adds, the level cap is just too low. EQ has a level cap of what it's like 70 now right? Howevera skill tree has 18 skills (most of which don't stack like scout, marksman, ent.,brawler, smuggler, BH,) so while adding more skills to your character does increase the things he/she can do it does not increase the power of the things they could already do.
In short I am for new name tags, crafting plans, materials, badges (adding skill points or not), and trophys. And I LOVED the idea to spendXP onceyou max out.
This might have been mentioned on the 9+ pages attached to this thread, but if not I wanted to make sure it did.
Skill points. No, seriously, 250 is *way* too little. I'm down to the point where I can not afford to lose almost *anything*. I'm going to start ditching my Surveying line really soon, but after that... well, I'll probably never Master an elite profession.
However, I'd go on a lengthy, difficult mission if I could be granted *ahem* "special knowledge" (i.e. an extra few skill points!). A couple dozen would be nice, but, eh, that would probably be slightly unbalancing.
Even just 2-5 or so would help a bit.

I'd agree on furniture, paintings, just about anything to spruce up the home. One of my primary motivations in playing the game is to find rare and exotic items, or just nice things, to make my home the more liveable and spectacular. I need more than just the Grunda painting. I'd like a huge panoramic one, and some statues, etc.

LMFAO 9+ pages? Try 40+ LOLOL C3p0 quite reading this days ago. Those guys are way too busy to keep up with 40 pages of ideas. Let it go already.
Like befor said, so on, i like. specialy the mandolrian armor...more rare items that justlook good or like "Jedi's Hood" that technicly does nothing *tusken raider sets* but since it is what it is it would be sellable *at-st helments as well* or useable, or just look cool. You could walk up to a guild mate and say "look what".
Heres a list of what I think would be feasible and pretty cool.
1. Schematics obtained through quests and dungeons.
I'd prefer items that would give a player a more unique look, clothes, belts, backpacks, unique furniture, armor unique in appearence, weapons unique in appearance, and personally I'd like schematics obtained to reflect that philosophy. I understand that uber loot is not the best idea, but I think schematics with comporable stats to existing armor, but with a unique look would be great. Limite use of the schematics might help prevent the market from flooding.
2. Unique clothing obtained through quests and dungeons.
I think more unique clothing similar to the Tusken Raider drops would be great. especially if they have minor enhancements already included.
3. Very high quality segments, or enhancement segments.
I like the idea of high quality components and items similar to the Kryat dragon scales. I think this is already implemented to some extent because I always find component drops, but I'm not how sure how usefull they are to weaponsmiths. And the tapes are nice as well.
4. Unique decorative items.
A cool decorative item would be great. Personally I have a cool little bowl from one quest and I've seen little bantha toys on the bazaar terminals. I really like this kind of stuff, plus the speaker I got from the rebel quest is my favorite piece of furniture.
5. Skills
I think it would be reallyexciting if people could do various profesion specific quest trees to get skill bonuses. ie. A tailor preforms a long series of quests and in return recieves 5 extra colors for thier pallete or a +2 to expiermentation. Or an image designer would get new hair styles, or the ability to tattoo none zabracks, musicians a unique song, dancers a dance, etc. I think that these should be somewhat static and hard to find (word will always get out though) and some possibly Master specific. I think this would give a little variety to the current proffesion structure (which I think has great variety anyway).
Of course to implement the decorative items there would really have to be a raise command, and for the proffesion specificrewards there would have to be more involved proffesion quests. Anyways I don't see these as creating a lot of problems, but I'm sure I missed something, so heres my 2 cents worth.
