between this and professions that have been broken since day 1 I'm wodering if SWG is really worth my monthly fee anymore."

My thoughts exactly... and I think the answer is 'no, the monthly fee is no longer worth paying'!!!

I have to be honest. i always read the posts about people saying they are going to quit, and I think those people are annoying and just clutter up the forums, but I'm sitting thinking this might be the only recourse for such horrible service. It's about managing expectations. There are tons of books about it.. read one... hell, just read the jacket.

I pay for 3 accounts, and I really feel like I'm being laughed at for it.

I'd be willing to bet that there's at least a 20% drop in players after this patch. There is no reason to seperate access to the village into different grps. There could have been a simple solution to it -- instead of making all the fs quest in one village seperate it into different villages on different planets and bam now everyone is in different places on different stages and everyone is happy cause they get to work on their extra slot at the rate they want. From the MMORPG's that i have played from SOE all i can say is they have a very unique way of not using foresight in things they think will make improvements to thier games. I give this one 6 months after JTL before it's belly up. Profession grinding is boring, there is no content, and now some of the only content they put in is going to be moderated by what they think is a well deligated system. I, like mostly everyone else that plays any type of games cannot afford to try to conform to a schedule when we all play for fun and when we can. IF we can't log on for a week and we are set in a grp that is granted access to the village that week we miss it and have to wait longer it's completely BS. Have fun i'll go actually be a jedi in KoToR.

im willing to bet a melon that the old man wont be turned on till friday. that way all the existing jedi can run around the village and collect their 1337 lewtz while everyone else gets shafted for a few more days.

I have a feeling you may be right in the fact that the old man is not turned on yet. Guessing that today is not counting as day one in the one to three day group. Tomorrow might start the one to three day group allowing current jedi to go through the village today in order to get the quest rewards. It seems fairly assinine to restrict new content to only those people it was not created for on patch day, but I wouldn't doubt it. Then again I wouldn't doubt it is broken either. Haven't heard of a soul seeing the old geezer... really striking me odd that no one has seen it.

Then again maybe the emporer has him in the basement with whips, chains, and hawtpants for the duration of patch day.

lol sounds about right .. we will find out next week that its bugged and the devs just found out about it

Well, I didn't hologrind at all - in fact, I've never owned a holocron, except for a Sith Holo that I keep as a decoration. I've done 5 professions in the year I've been playing - Tailor, Merchant, Marksman, Teras Kasi, and Artisan, and there's no way that I hit all 5 holo-professions by blind luck. But, I've done all the POIs and have enough other badges to be "one with the force", so I qualify under the new system.

Well, which is it?

To be clear:

But the visit by the old man could be at competely different times right? Player A could get a visit 1-3 days, while player B who was in group 4 will have to wait weeks even months right?

The thing that is tough is that player B doesn't even know he will be wasting weeks/months out in the wilderness looking for the old man even though hehas "qualified" for a visit...

In other words folks, if you were at all interested in pub 10 and getting into Village, you need not have bothered logging in today, as not one person I have heard of got a visit from old man today. You have to wait a complete day to be in this 1-3 days thing.

A real slap in the face to all the post 9 unlocker who got their messages saying they would be able to use the force today.

Followed by another slap in the face when last week we heard that we will have to do entry and exit quests, making that system message saying we have force powers incorrect. Not that most mind doing the quests, but I know a few who have a problem with the exit quest where you have to kill a 58k ham sith jedi that is 80% resist and uses every jedi trick in the book, not to mention his 12 lackeys. another minor slap to those who dont have lots of friends or a guild to help them.

Now the final slap for the day is the majority of you will not get to see the publish whenever it does start working because of this group time gate and because you believed what the devs were shoveling for months.

I just have one piece of advice for this community. Go to www.worldofwarcraft.com and check out how the devs respond to their community. No wait!!!! Dont...you will only hate this sad excuse for customer service even more.

You people who are complaining about hate threads need to understand that the community is sick of getting no response from the devs and when they do, it is a pack of lies. What lies? How about the one months ago where they said the quest system will get rid of profession grinding. You just ponder that one while you grind out your 27 prof's worth of exp under the new system. I wont even go into the long list of other lies like the GCW and combat revamp...you just ponder the grind lie for now.

I use to like this game because it was generally fun to play and you could solo in it. Now the fun is logging in every day to see what new game SWG is and how much I have to beta test before I can get use to the new system every few weeks. Not to mention the forums which are always a puzzle to figure out the direction of the game.

Well, thanks for a nice publish 10. I hope to see the old man by the weekend, but i wont hold my breath. Devs should at least give everyone who bothered logging in today to get into the village a "Bend Over" badge, we surely earned it.

Why do people even bother to post questions to Thunderheart or the developers, thay do **EDIT** , thay promise changes and deliver **EDIT**. Hell thay dont even read our posts, or even reply to there questions.

we all know the devs dont care as long as thay get payed. SOE dont care as long as thay get the subscription, and thunderheart u sold out man, u was one of us.

Ok, I am a bit confused here. I have been playing this game since release day, and even a bit during beta. But the description of the credit is a bit encryptic and you contradict yourself TH.

First, you say you upped the requirements of professions from 5-8, but you then go on to explain saying if you did 4 out of 5 professions you are qualified. Which is it??? If we did 4 out of 5 and were on our silent holo does that mean we automatically qualify OR we got our silent holo, but only went on to do 1 more out of the added 3 we are in a group number?

Second, if we glow from within and the force is with us, does that mean we qualify or need to do more things and get a different message to be qualified?

I think if you could possibly please answer those questions, I might be a little less confused here.
