The question here is: Can players still migrate stats on their own just slowly and IDs can just do it faster? Or do IDs only now have the ability to migrate stats? This is rather confusing how it is worded hon.
Yes, it sounds like ID's only will have this functionality. I can see how it would be confusing though. In the first part they said that ID's can do it fast, but later they said it will be exclusive to the ID. It really wasn't clear but I'm suspecting the normal player won't have the option any more.

What he said. All you people whining about not being able to migrate stats on your own are the ones who need to learn to read and stop pointing out that others can not.
The only thing REVOKED was the ability for the normal player to use the ID Stations to Migrate their stats FASTER.
Your stats will still migrate as normal without an ID.
Again YOUR STATS WILL STILL MIGRATE ON THIER OWN, YOU DO NO NEED AN ID JUST TO MIGRATE YOUR STATS. YOU WOULD NEED ONE TO DO IT IN 10 MINUTES.
Skedoozy, I'm pretty sure normal players will no longer be able to do it at all, period, finito.
Check out the excerpt:
Ok, for image design it says that's where we will go, the tents. It almost makes it sound exclusive, I hope not. That means no more "field design".
They will have the "sole ability" to migrate stats "faster". That sounds like only the faster method will require an ID.
"This functionality has been revoked from the general player base" This means the players will no longer have it.They chose the word revoked, meaning you had it but it's gone now.
I'm wondering if we can get some clarification from Dev City, or perhaps we should just go in and try it out till we know, then find out what was intended to be sure it's working AS intended.

OH thank God u fixed the Uber ID out there. WoW They have uber speed and damage the mind, also they dont get 75% reduction in PVP..... HMMM wait a minute What a freakin waste of time an ID patch what now the 5 people who play ID will be happy. What about the problems in The PvP you the "wars" in Star Wars

Well... This is not exactly true. You only have to set foot on the planet and open the correct harvesting tool (or send a survey droid

This is foolish.
I cant name a SINGLE Ahazi Image designer. Now you're going to force some poor SOB to actually play this profession for facilitate the migration of thousands of players stats?
Lets be realistic here. I'm a very long term members of the Ahazi community, and literally cant name a single image designer I could reliably go to for stat migration.
...it takes 35 minutes to level image designer...GUARANTEED...there will be about 300 to 600 on your server before the first day this is live...its called the next big income...and this gives image designers a very steady income...which is good...tho unexpected.
you are sorta right..up until the last publish it took next to no time to master ID on a macro but not so anymore. ID could be a pretty cool profession with some tweaking and i hope this helps them but i think the learning curve alone will deter many. That and i kind of doubt that many players will take advantage of this option anymore and just leave their stats as is, especially if ID's are as hard to find as they are now.
Stat Migration: Image Designers now have the sole ability to migrate player stats faster than the previous default migration rates. The process will take 10 minutes and requires the Image Modification Booth located inside the ID tents.
Great Idea! Great way to give the ID's a valuable service.
This functionality has been revoked from the general player base and now requires an Image Designer.
Horrible Idea! It's great that ID's can migrate stats in 10 minutes, but to take away my ability to do it the old way is just absurd! One of the great things about SWG is the extreme flexibility in customizing my own character.
Why is it that the standard operating procedure around here seems to be that something must be taken away from players in order to give them something new? There's nothing wrong with the old system. If I'm willing to wait 3 days for my stats to shift, so be it. If I'm impatient, I can pay an ID to shift them quickly. Everybody wins! Force me to see an ID in order to change my stats at all and it becomes just another thing the devs have done to make the game un-fun.
It's a little bit like the Vehicle Customization Kits:
- Great in theory: Artisans get a re-sellable product and players get cooler vehicles.
- Worthless in execution: Colors fade so rapidly (if they stick at all!) that it's hardly worth the trouble, and the colors are so dull that it just looks like a bad spray paint job over the default sort of rusted gold color. I have trouble giving these things away.
Thought that the next time I see an image designer then i would get it changed back.
Guess what 2 months later and no Image Designer. Now you expect me to find the unfindable to do something I have been able to do myself since the beginning of the game. Why do you keep upsetting us like this. Stat migration is something that is more like personal training NOT anything to do with Image Designer.
Now you expect me to pay for god damn Stat Migration.... it makes me fu@king angry.

Well this shows exactly how spoiled we've become. In EQ, you roll your stats once and you're stuck with them forever. Heck the devs are even listening to the "speedy speedy hurry up and finish the game" kind of people by reducing the time massively to 10 minutes.
I guess this will be a bigger deal to those that change their stats as fast as they change their underwear, but I don't see it being a big deal to locate an "emergency ID" unless you made a fat person to be funny and now regret it. lol
