I love R2-M1. He is Wokkabacca's new helper R2 unit on Bria. I love the whole idea of the helper droids, that I'd like to see it grow into a game mechanic that can be used WELL beyond the new player experience.

So, here is my idea. Helper Droids, after the initial newbie quests, should download all of the quests (that are within your current power level) in a city you are visiting. Clicking on one of the quests will activate a waypoint to the quest giver. Once the quest is completed, the quest will be removed from the Helper Droids list of quests. This makes the Helper Droid a sort of "Adventure Guide" that points out where all the fun stuff to do in a city is located.

And, so as to not kill the DE profession, I believe the Helper Droid should be upgradable by a DE. Players can go to the DE to change the Helper Droids Chassis and add Modules. The only modules a DE could not add to a Helper Droid would be Combat Modules. Combat Droids should be a seperate breed of Droid that can only be created from scratch by DEs.

Finer Points

  • Rename the "a helper R2 unit" tag to "a helper droid"

  • Rename the "Profession Quests" tag in the radial menu to "Available Quests"

  • Allow Helper Droids to be rechargeable

  • Allow Helper Droids to access waypoints to all of the quest NPCs in a city

  • Waypointsaccessed in this way will only be the quests that are comparable with a characters current skill level (scaling to the highest possible skill of a character, regardless of equipped items/weapons)

  • Allow Droid Engineers to give anew chassis to a Helper Droid, as well as add any non-combat modules that the Helper Droids owner wishes (within the droids limits, of course)

i don't know if i'm alone or if anyone has mentioned it before, but vehicles that can carry passengers would make a wonderfull attraction to the game

Landspeeder: 1 driver, 1 passenger+ maybe a smallstorage compartment, i've never heard of a car without a trunk

Speeder: 1 driver, 1 passenger (on the back)

Swoop: only 1 driver

maybe some new vehicles to go with this

-a landspeeder upgrade to carry more people, maybe 2 more than suggested above

-maybe some sorta bus style of vehicle, to seat many, which could be used on hunts for those who can't afford their own transport or just for ferrying people around cities if they don't have a vehicle or just make a variant which can carry items, ideal for when you move home

how about pod racers??? would make racing helluva lot more fun

and on the topic of tailoring, how about more styles of headwear, not that i'm bothered by it but there isn't exactly a wide variety of headwear:-

Suggestions

baseball cap (and variant backward cap / option to rotate 90 deg)

beanie hat

bandana

shemagh

bush hat

fur hat (russian style)

beret

balaclava

more if you can think of them

and footwear, why can't people wear boots which aren't high-leg?

Suggestions

Sneakers (a variant which looks different to the one that already exists)

Boots (not high-leg style, hiking style, like you see backpackers wearing)

Smart Shoes (more variants please)

high leg paramilitary boots (some boots modeled after current issue US / UK boots, of course not looking the same...it's star wars not real life)

bandolier

paramilitary webbing / tactical vest (how about one modeled to look like military webbing)

also i've noticed an issue with certain belts/bandolier and women, women look stupid wearing them because they don't seem to fit

thats all i have for right now but i think of more i will let you know thanks for reading my post to all those that read it ^_^

What about adding a Travel Tab to the Datapad where we can stack multiple tickets of common routes to reduce our need to go and buy them each leg of every trip? If not in the datapad, then perhaps an inventory device that holds tickets for us in a stacked fashion?

In regards to Vehicles and extra passengers - instead of allowing other players to get in, why not allow are droids to sit in the passenger seat? They did it in ANH, they can do it here, I say! This way, players can just keep their droids out when they get into a X-34 or an AV-21. The droid will just appear in the passenger seat.

Floating droids shouldn't go into the seat. Their speed should just be upped to keep up with the vehicle. To keep from kiting, droids should not be able to enter combat if the player is mounted. This inlcludes counterattacking. They'll just ignore the damage unless you get off of your ride.

And, another silly idea. For next April, we should have a month long April Fools event! The theme of this event? Spaceballs!

Imagine doing quests for Yogurt? Helping out the Dinks, or "combing" the desert? Getting into firefights with Lonestar and Barf in their Winnebago? Star Destroyers with "We Brake for Nobody" on the back? It would be the greatest April Fools event ever.

It would be AWESOME.

I think that friends lists need to be looked at.

I think it should fall in line with most messenger services. A player should be required to give you permisson to add them to your list.

Far too many Bounty Hunters are using the friends list as a tool to track Jedi. I understand the value of a friends list but someone should not be allowed to add you without your approval.

There are some things that i think are missing in the game and im gonna make a little list with ideas i think should be entered and why...

-more colors on armors/clothings/hair. More colors, im missing alot of colors in palett of clothes and armor, like bright yellow, and for example pink.... i think too few colors are in the game and makes people look the same...same with hair, id like completely black hair, or perhaps all white, or with multiple colors on your hair.

-Variation on designs on armors. make more design differences in armors. like different types of helmet, sholder pads, leggings, etc, if comp armor still gonna be a main type of armor, make armor smith able to make variation in design.

-Vehicles has too few options. for example speeders should have mount weapon option, and speed on all vehicles should be much higher... and most should be able to carry passenger... and more types of default vehicles. and a little storage space in them too (5 to 10 in capacity)

-Historical rewards, imperials should be getting historical stuff like for example Clone trooper armor, Droideka schematics etc. but they should be rewarded to high ranking imperial officers...

-When you drop your combat proffesion you do not lose your certification for the weapon but ofcourse you lose special moves... its too silly to forget how to use a thing when you drop proffession...

-thats all i got at the current moment, i shal post more as more ideas pop up

Hi TH,

I have a rather open-ended suggestions for the game:

Make an attempt to three-dimensionalize the play on the ground. My general feelings are that this (like a lot of games) has a very two-dimensional feel to it. Yes, I know, the third dimension is there, but it is not really utilized in gameplay all that much. The space expansion will probably eliminate some of these feelings, but I still think it is possible to really enhance the play on the ground by adding this.

For instance, what you see in a lot of games, like Knights of the Old Republic, for instance, are cities that are very three dimensional in nature....ie, raised roadways, living levels, and bazaars that are above the ground, and multi-layered in a lot of instances, floating landing platforms, etc. The list could go on and on. I'm pretty sure this is within the graphical capabilities of this game, because there are some places in the game that have this kind of feel (Lord Nyax dungeon, the Jedi cave on dant, temples, etc). I just think it would speak highly of the game to have a city to pull up to that has a lower slum, middle areas, and a top level economic area.

The jetpacks I've read about have the potential to add a lot of this feel to the game. Opening up that 5th and 6th degree of movement to the player could go a long way in producing a game that gives you that sort of feeling where you sit there and say "wow!". It could also add another level of skill to the combat professions...prodding the player touse(and rewarding for using) that extra range of motion.

You could try the city idea on for size, maybe, by redesigning a city (much like you did Bestine), and introducing it to the player population to see how it works. The cities could climborders of magnitude higher on the coolness scale .

This game has really been sort of a dream come true for me. I remember playing Xwing when I was younger and wishing there was a game in which I could do everything. Now that its here, I'm just trying to suggest things that would complete the "Star Wars Feel" for all of us veteral video gamers out there.

There's my two cents. You're all doin a great job with this game...keep up the good work!!! You have no idea how envious I am of your jobs...

Hi my first post on this board but think its such a good idea.. id like some back up.... so if you like it bark up and say so people!

How come in the age of holo facilities do the starports + shuttleports not have little R2 units beside the 3p0s projecting "2 mins 15 secs" till next shuttle?? etc etc in real time?

HOLOGRAPHIC- SHUTTLE TIMES !!!!!

Surely in the game, this is such a simple piece of programming. The shuttles have set points in time to land anyhow regarding everyone.. so a simple display for everyone to see rotating mid air above head heightwould function two fold.

People are enraged enough at not having the option to wait anyhow.. but if they can see the time till next shuttle displayed will save them running right up to the 3p0 and radial dial click.. I "/shout" it as an idea at starports as an idea.. and everyone loved it... this is star wars where r2d2 relayed the holo message from the princess and im sure most Rstyle droids must have a clock facility.

Even have a side to side scrolling time outside the starports!!

lets see this implemented ?? please

(also can you deal with the dissapearing pets in battle bug thats been around since the year dot also??)

thanks for the most addictive game ive everplayed (but as a side note-- it has lots of frustrations too causing stress that only just equal its greatness)

I don't know if this has been asked/addressed but:

With the new Jedi Revamp it was stated that we can have 2 characters per server. One character we use to unlock a FS slot, and then the FS character itself. If I unlock my FS slot now, and destroy my current character (to unleash my new jedi) will I be able to get my first character back when we can have 2 char's per server? Now instead of using friends to transfer money/items between your FS character and deleted character you can do it yourself!

I think more than a handful of people are a tad saddened to see that mounts have become almost obsolete. Yeah, they can fight for you and such, but with the majority of "travelling" players not CHs, their obvious method of Transportation is a speeder of some sort. In order to make the game feel more "Star Warsy", I think mounts need to be given an injection of usefulness/cool factor. Maybe mount armor of some kind, to protect them in combat, or a mount 'weapon', a type of bonus conferred to mounts that the same type of wild creature would not have. Their are visible packs on the mount saddle graphics, so why not give them a type of backpack space usefulness to carry extra items much like a player backpack. Items like food for the mount could be placed in the pack, and automatically used to heal it during combat just like the droid auto-repair module does for droids. Possibly a whole new array of foods/spices for mounts to increase their stamina in galloping, their ability to wear higher encumberance mount armor, etc. These new items could easily be added to existing Armorsmith and Chef lineups, further enhancing their playability and usefulness. Finally, these new mount goodies would be *mount specific*, meaning that any regualr pet could not use them. The bond that the player shares with his mount would is special (ie banthas and their masters deep understanding of the other) and so only the mount can benefit from the new goodies. I'm going to do some more thinking on the subject, let me know what you guys think.

After reading all the posts I have a few suggestions.

1. Concerning the BH being able to kill their own faction: Why not make BH a neutral profession. After all, a gun for hire is only on the side of whomever is paying the most at that given time. If the opposing makes an offer that is better, the BH may decide to switch sides. On that note, why not make it possible to give the target the optionto bribe the BHin exhange for their life spared. The BH could then decide to take itwith his/her self getting bountied or just kill the target.

2. Vendors with little or nothing on them: Couldn't there be a terminal placed in the npc cities that would give players access to the inventory on all the player vendors on that planet? Players would still have to travel to go buy the item but would solve the empty vendor issue plus give an added bonus of saving traveling all over to still not find what you are looking for.

3. Survey droids not giving enough info: How about having them give random info of eitherthe highest % or the stats of one of the resources from that survey tool.

I d like to see slots on weapons for placing skill tapes, and also the use of skill tapes in back packs.

Also please fix the current levels of storage in houses. As stated above, cupboards, armoires, chests, back packs etc etc could all be used to subtract from the number of items in a house. Of course the limit on storage would depend on the structure. As i see it, a guild hall only holding 250 items is ridiculas.
