This is my first post. I've been reading posts all day, so I finally decided to do one myself, to be a part of the solution rather than jsut grumbling in the background.

Overall reactions to this publish? Negative unfortunately. While the idea of armor swtiching delay sounds ok it seems that this is best enforced in combat only. As for the weapons delay, I understand that its especially crippling at the higher end of play for some professions, but it also hurts lower end play as well. I should reasonable be able to "drop" my rifle and go to hand to hand or quick-draw a pistol when things get close. I understand that both fixes were put in place to correct exploits ,but it jsut seems to be sloppy thinking to fix it like this instead of eliminating the exploits. Those DOT pikes are jsut too darn powerful and should be scaled back. As far as armor, if you are going to stick with it keep it delayed in combat only, but make it inetrruptable by clearing the combat queue. This way you are not standing around getting hit until all your armor is on, you can cut out and start fighting back with a few pieces in place. Heck, I never even knew you could have armor macros before this - if I thought I'd be in combat, I wore armor. Sometimes I got surprised and died. But that happens.

About the jedi... too much. I never realized how many people were jedi until this patch where a lot of them can operate openly. Its a bit silly. When I first heard about Star wars Galaxies, I never even thought that jedi would be an allowable player class. MAYBE a force sensitive class with very minor abilities that would live in fear of being discovered. It seems like there is a lot of work to balance jedi when there can really be no balance. Jango Fett vs. Mace Windu - Jango gets taken down. Simple as that. If you want players to be able to be jedi, you should have never made it a holo-grinding session. Holo-grinding shows nothing about the player's character or the ability to play a character in game. I know you are changing the entry system now, but that just allows even MORE jedi to be added. If this was pre or post Empire era then ok, but it really detracts from the experience. Best bet would be to make jedi be something really earned, decided on and given as a reward. A reward that can then be taken away. In EQ you had guides - jedi should be something similar. They have powers that place them well above normal players, so trying to compare and contrast them is like apples and oranges. There are so many other games out there where the protagonist is a jedi - we didn't need another one. Let me just be a regular person in the Star Wars universe - I thought that was the focus of the game.

I'm very upset about the vendor problem. And the maintenance issue. The image design shop change is nice. The reward for 1 year anniversary is ok, but no seperate reward for veteran players other than the sorusub IF we buy JTL? I probably will and will love the ship, but for people who have been with the game since launch, or even longer, have endured and helped make the game a better one, an extra gift would have been nice.

As far as the loot kits - neat idea but seemingly poor execution. The drop rate seems awfully slow. I understand a bit of networkign is helpful to get all the same bits for one kit, but I shashed about 100 guys up and got only one piece (for something I didn't have the kit for!) I love being able to personalize my space so I actually like little touches like this, and I have a "broken" this and that all over my house. But the drop frequency is so low as to make it more like having a krayt dragon skull or something by the time you get all the pieces. Was this actually intentional to make the resultant items that rare?

That's about it with the publish feedback. One morething (not directly publish related): more and more varied lower level content! Not all of us have maxed out skill trees and spent all of our skill points doing so. Giving those people things to do is nice, but some lower-leve instanced events would be good too. I saw instanced becasue of course it wouldn't be fair for higher-level maxed characters to be hogging them up. As a person primarily a crafter, I will nbever see the geonosian labs, the correlian corvette and so on. It makes staying in the game a hard thing to do sometimes, as night after night things get repetitive. I do try out a lot of different professions to see how they go, but I don't want to holo-grind and max each one. I like crafting. But I can still fight and I would liek the opportunity to do so. But hearing aobut the opponents with the astoundingly large HAM bars, just to make things challenging for the people who are maxed out - is this all there is? You guys seem pretty clever, care a bout Star Wars and I do like the side stories. As much as I love more gubbins to decorate my house, and more colors with the image designer, I'd rather have more "stuff" to do. I'd play a heck of a lot more if there was.

Anyways, keep striving and good luck!

Feedback: Wasted Jedi Skill points.

Never on Test Centre did I get to select secondary skills with my Jedi Knight.

So I choose the Jedidefence line with my available Jedi points.

Not realising I can then choose the TKA Line after.

What a waste of all my skill points. My jedi skills are basically wasted. All 34 points.

Thanks for making my Jedi absolutely useless from this conversion.

Basically forcing me to reset from scratch with experience.

Is there some Issue with Cloning Overt!?

A guildmate of mine today was Clone Camped for 20 minutes in our town until he was forced to log off. He was overt, died then cloned overt.

He is tremendously upset, as am I. Aren't we supposed to lose overt status if we're death blowed?!

It isn't listed in it but anyway, dunno where to put it so it'll be here.

Armor equip delay.
Ok for me in combat, not at problem.

But when not in combat, why a delay?
is it a bug?
Because when not in combat, it seem that the first item of armor I put is equiped with no delay, but all the others have a delay.

It's such a pain it make it impossible to heal yourself with siting after a fight and force you to pick medic.

I love most of the new stuff in this patch, and I can hardly wait to get my own jedi... But, but, but theres a few minor issues thats also very annoying...for instance I still happen to warp when dismounting my bike...not as much as before, but it still happens.

Also I dont get the idea of the armor/weapon delay..man its annoying. I know it has been implemented to fix some bug...but couldnt you come up with a smarter solution? As master ch switching between BE-enhanced clothes and armor it isnt particular fun to use like 15 secs or more to get your armor back on, while a angry "moma"-arachne queenis beating you up..:

Finally theres also the issues of some armor turning up red even though theres nothing wrong with it. I got a mabari undershirt and belt, and both items turns up red, when not equipped.

No more complaning from me, most of the stuff in this patch has been great, like the mini-kits and the hermit quest, so keep up the good work and fix the other minor issues

Cheers

i find the armour and weapon delay to be a real time waster and a major irritation, especially as it relates to all clothes, not jsut armour in and out of combat. it is truly woeful and i hope that you change your mind on that one. if you dont want people changing during combat, fine as soon as you're in combat you cant change. but when you're on your speeder riding to a lair and it takes a minute to put your armour on...come on, give me a break. its a really really bad change to the game.

Badges

  • Character badges are now located on the "personal" tab of the character sheet in the middle box instead of the examine window

  • The Character Sheet now displays a list of badges earned by the player and also badges not yet won

I think these badge changes are a step in the right direction, but I feel it would be nice if the badges were seperated fromt he initial examination window. Many of us spend a good amount of time on our Bio's and enjoy having people read them and comment on them. With badges at the top of the "Examine" window, there is less of an impetus to scroll through a bio and learn a bit about a character or the person behind it. I'd recommend moving the badges to after the Bio in the Examine window, or even putting it in a seperate tab altogether.

I do like the addition of unattained badges.

WORD TO ALL YOU JEDIS COMPLAINING ABOUT ROBES AND CRAP
Think of the rest of us.........helpless mofo's.. YOUR PREY!

Theres tons of us who worked just as hard and got shafted from being jedi and having the opportunity to play with one.

I hate this stupid new set up.
Were all small fish in a big sea now, filled with sharks (BULLIES) called jedi.

Cant even do imp missions anymore with my girlfriend without getting wacked...looosing 10k in buffs, 24k for a bike they knock you off of. and 1.5 hours to go get healed, fix yoru mind...line up 15 min for new buffs, and line up 20 min for stupid shuttles.

1) well why dont you wait till your tef runs out... shouldn;t have too. we wait for everything else.. now we gotta be affraid to do anything.. and i dont see any overts anymore in the past 4 days.

2) Why dont you contract a BH.. **edit** they gonna do.. nothing.. they cant.. they need 12 to 14 tka guys maybe to get him once..

SO we all gotta travel in packs? Cant go overt and fight reg enemies, cause theres a jedi at every turn. NO CHANCE..

NONE...

Im master commando and couldnt even get "one" shot off b4 he got me, my GF and our bikes!

I pay the same as everyone else each month. and worked my but off everyday when I have time.(no jedi slot here). only to be bullied all day long now and run around whith my tail between my legs.

Last night got killed twice by same guy who uses force run 3 to catch up on ya.. kills 2 of my bikes, my GF's bike, got pissed then logged off.

Log on this morning. go get healled and buffed again, go back to do missions, and bang 10 min later i'm dead from another jedi. and another bike gone.
LOG OFF AGAIN..cause im soo pissed...try to find that JEDIS IP>>his address and smash him one! if only i could.

and doubt I will ever return

Also be on teh look out on ebay.. SELLING 12 years (HUGE INVENTORY of STAR WARS TOYS & COLLECTABLES!!!

I can see a reason for the armour delay (Jedi robes/Force powers). It's also a bit unrealistic swapping armour at a second's notice, so it makes sense.

However; why is there a weapon delay? I liked to swap between my rifle and my carbine, headshots with a rifle andor switching to a carbine for group status effects and ranged knockdowns.

Is the intention really to make templates with multiple combat professions less usable than a combat profession with a 'support' profession (Doctor, CM..?)

Or, is it reallybecause of pikemen swapping weapons with different DOTs ? Because the changedoesn't stop Combat Medics putting multiple area poison/disease DOTs on groups from 90m away and I would argue that's far more gamebreaking than any pikeman could ever wish to be ..

If the latter, please fix the DOT system (if that's why the weapon delay was implemented) instead of screwing up the game for many people that try to be a bit more creative than grabbing "FOTM"and spamming "SOTM" (special..) with "WOTM" (weapon..)

If it's done for realism, why don't you let master marksman and master brawlers swap ranged or melee weapons instantly, to give recognition to those people as 'elite' in their particular weapon class?

If there's another reason, please post it here.

Will Items still disappear on the second anniversary?

I wonder... My son finally started playing SWG again. He bought Ubese and after less than a day of owning it, it disappeared. CS left him one of these "we are very sorry" responses, and did nothing whatever. One item came back but 2 others did not (including the chest piece). Then he goes out fighting and gets the armor hole bug.

Later, I sign on, having gone covert overnight. He was covert also, but after Itrade something with him, I am now declared. I've been here since Beta 1 fist shuttle, and I'd like to keep playing, but not if the game is a constant series of excuses for things not working. After an whole year, I have my doubts.

Do you guy expect to get the basics down at some point?

BTW - I posted this, went back online, repaired my vehicle at the Imp town garage, and found myself declared again.

The statement "we care" is patently false when it isaccompanied by minimal efforts to fix the problems you claim to care about. After a whole year I don't think it's too much to ask that faction status not be completely random, or that items not simply disappear.

Is there any excuse at all for not telling the player why his status was changed from covert to overt? Wouldn't messages that accompany the change help debug the process?
