Thread: Publish 8.2 Feedback: Death Watch Bunker
This is my feedback...
On the positive side :
- Awesome! Finally a challenging dungeon with good loot that enforces playing together. I have been looking for this for a long time.
- Awesome! It's huge, has different missionssoit's definitly not some of this 1-hour-content. Willkeep us busy a while.
The negatives :
-Where is the loot ? Are you telling me i need to solo on Yavin and hunt Black Suns instead of grouping with my friends in the dungeon and then exchange the parts BH-parts need ? Why ? Why ? Why ? This makes teaming harder. After most of the people realized they all told me the same "ok once i have a full set of BH Armor i come back to this dungeon" - this is a gamebreaker for me. People should loot everything INSIDE the dungeon, then trade the parts. Would make the whole thing much more fun.
- Most of the NPCs inside are pretty balanced. However the SBDs are NOT! They make no dmg and it takes ages to kill them - even with 20+ people. The dungeon - in it's current state - will be impossible to be completed since you simply run out of buffs after 2-3 hours. It takes 30 mins to get everyone in the group buffed, explaining the tactic blahblah so you basically dont have more than 2 hours left. Fighting the SBDs is extremely boring. They dont make dmg and it takes ages to kill them. The resists are too high, the dmg is too low. Also, why don't make it easy at the entrance and harder the more people proceed to the dungeon ? For fact several people of our group started to make an attackmacro and went AFK because it was just too boring fighting the SBDs.
- I'm unsure about this one but why do you have to contact Boba to open the door ? I think that shouldn't be necessary to enter it - that's just a timesink, not content for me. (I think i didnt even read the dialogue when i /conv'ed him).
What's the outcome of this ?
If i would be a reviewer from GameSpy i would say : "Nice try! What is supposed to be good group content and a challenging dungeon currently is unfortunatly only another grind which gets boring pretty fast. Some of the NPCs are unbalanced, the loot-table concept is not ready for LIVE."
Like some people already stated - Content != More HAM,More Camping, Less Loot
Suggestions :
- Add the BH Armor loot-table to the NPCs inside. I just assume to speak for all but "we don't want to solo days on Yavin seeking for random spawns so we have a reason to enter the dungeon."
- Lower the resists and the HAM on the SBDs but increase their Damage.
- Respawns could be 1-2 minutes slower. Currently people get stuck in rooms because too many NPCs/Droids spawn.
Hopefully this was helpful,
F.

So devs ARE reading this. To bad they cant say anything other then repeated informantion.
Why are we surprised when Dev's respond to posts in this board? Of course they are reading this. This area is to get feedback on a major new area that was just pushed Live. They worked long and hard on getting this out of course they want to know what we think. I am surprised when any red name drops in a post because a lot of times it is like throwing gas on afire. People go into attack mode. I think we should all take a step back some times and think about how much everyone has invested in getting even the smallest change pushed out to the community. Thanks for all the hard work Dev Team.
Now that being said, lets try and provide some constructive critisicsm. While I don't agree with the tone of the board and I do tend to agree with the message. Let's throw out some questions and get some answers and try and get a dialogue started. I'll start:
Would you consider yourself a casual gamer or hard core player?
Do you feel that the DW bunker was geared to the elite of the elite?
Do you think that a sizable group of casual players could accomplish the mission?
If you are a casual player can you compile a sizable group?
Do the top levels of gamers feel that this is geared to them only?
Do they like the fact that it is?
Do bigger and stronger MOB's make better content or would you prefer more story driven characters that might take longer to develop?
Keep in mind that the DW Bunker is supposed to be incredibly difficult and only completable by a few people.
This is just my two cents and me trying to get the ball rolling. Lets get some discussion, not bashing, going.

Boba Fett has discovered that an ancient splinter group of Mandalorian mercenaries known as the Death Watch are not just the stuff of myth and rumor but are operating out of a hidden location. Boba Fett?s network of spies has also discovered that the Death Watch assassins have contracted a heavy of contingent of the Black Sun to help them in their unknown plans. Are you brave enough to find out what these heinous villains are up to? Work your way through this new adventure zone with over 6 Action packed new quests and unique new crafting missions to find out what has brought these ancient warriors out of hiding!
Have you made it out to the bunker yet?
Yes I have
What were your experiences?
Made it about 10 rooms in, forgot the passkey to go farther into the dungeon, so I didn't go very far. Fought many different Mobs though. Wraiths, SBD's, BD's, etc.
What is your opinion of this new adventure zone?
I found it exciting, though it can get cluttered.... but I feel that will pass. It's like the Corvette for difficulty, but you can bring enough people to handle it, so that is a huge plus. Although loot seems to come slowly, but that is probably because it takes 20 minutes for us to kill the tougher mobs since we did not have a large enough group.... so when we come back prepared; I can see this being exciting and rewarding.
I love this game in many ways, but I have to say that this is not the brightest idea that the developers have had.
I went to the bunker for a bit tonight and all I can say is that the developers should have borrowed a sign from EQ and hung one up saying "Welcome to Lower Guk". Groups camping spawns, crap loot from ridiculously hard mobs, and the laaaaaaag from all of the people there make the dungeon a bit hard to even get into playwise.
In this day and age, there is simply no reason for a game to release a dungeon like this and not have it be instanced. You can still make it hard, but jeez, have people be able to at least control the concept that they are going to go in and be able to kill a particular mob without having to get on some kind of list to take out the spawn.
Honestly though, even with JTL coming out, you have to wonder just how the future content is going to be implemented if Death Watch is an example of where the developers' minds are. Is it so hard to have instanced dungeons? How about some decent loot?
As someone else said, high HAM on mobs + high respawn rates does NOT equal high end content.
What the development team needs to realize is that the journey is perhaps more important than the end. Yes, people have a chance to get Mandalorian armor in this dungeon, or at least components to craft it, but does it have to boil down to who zergs the content the best? Or who decides to be a jerk and not honor the spawn list?
This is supposed to be a "next-generation" MMORPG. What does it say about the game when players have to resort to things that they did 5-6 years ago in EverQuest or Asheron's Call, like spawn lists and loot lists and so on? Or when the supposed next generation game can't even do an instanced dungeon.
Talk to your friends at EQ and EQ2 and see how they handle high-end content. Think about quests, think about epic weapons (and epic armor) and think about immersion and how a well-told story is worthy of the reward. Yeah, Bobba Fett is involved in this one, but let's face it-- he's not exactly doing anything.

that's because nothing to discuss. obviously the devs have no idea what they are doing they just hear cries of more content so they add more and more insanely high hammed npcs in a dungeon atmosphere. im all for high lvl combat but come on this is just boring if you are even able to outlast them. PVE content is almost as bad as PVP these days.
well cant get past the door after talking to the guy in bestine (imperial mission).
heard you have to talk to boba fett to get past the door. well i for one am not going to spend hours killing jabba enemies and then spend hours doing his boring themepark.
this is one unhappy customer.

So what would you prefer to see as content? And don't point me to other posts. What would make this better? A high end NPC that travels around the dungeon randomly. You need to take this guy out to loot parts to build the armor or the masks or just to proceed on? Squads of executioner droids? Better loot that plays more into the story(I think we can all agree on that one)
It feels like we are all getting at the same thing. Content = Story. Not content equals bigger mobs.

oh one more thing. asides from the whine factor, why is mandolorian armor reserved for only commandos and bh's. arent mandolorians mercenaries???? no one else gets profession specific armor. if someone gets through this dungeon, i think it gives them the right ot wear it. dont you??????

Until you guys get around to doing the combat rebalance, all you end up doing by added new content like the DWB is to anger more and more players. Its impossible to scale the difficulty of the dungeon properly when some combat proffessions are extremely overpowered while at the same timeothers are laughably weak.
