Thread: Desired Rewards
http://www.deviantart.com/view/3387158/
This is from the pirate base SE of talus. Why should we bother doing these dungeons if their is no reward to be gained; its kinda silly don't you think? I solo'd the dungeon on my own so nonone could have been here befor me; it was full of mob, but non of the magseal containers had anything.
Is anything being done about this? or are you just going to put loot in the warren and very popular places?
Also, some of the magseal containers are bugged. I can open some of them, and see whats inside, but if i try and loot anything, it says i dont have permission. Is that a bug? If it is, whats being done?
Special badge, trophy, item, title.
A free month of play time on the server.
A special code that allows my account a few hours or days to play as a Jedi on the test server.
The ability to create an NPC, in brief, ie: The who, What, When, Where and Why.
Create, write, and have published a small 3 to 5 part questthatis given out by my or another NPC.
A special building named after my character. ie: John Does Art Gallery. Also, allow me to choose where in the galaxy it is with in Devs consent of course.
More of similar things. Make it sowe are more tied into thegalaxy we play on. I know this will happen when PA citys spring up but it would be great to run around Tat and see someone titled "Jabbas Puppet"hanging outside a building or an alley way named after them also.
"I'll state this very clearly: It is a design objective to keep crafter integral to the game economy. We do not want to put crafters out of business by making dropped loot better than the best crafted items."
Q - I seriously doubt the danger posed to artisan classes. There are too many things we need from them, and given all the playing styles, and thus demand for various kinds of items, artisans will never be out of work. Plus, just because you give a gun that might do 20 more points of damage as a reward for a mission that can be found in the corner of some map - does NOT mean everyone in the game will automatically have one. It does not mean, either, that all of a sudden everyone will ignore weaponsmiths.
I don't think your, and the DEV teams, view on this is wholly realistic. There are *so* many things we need from crafters. Nice loot would also be an incentive for crafters to achive mastery - did that ever occur to you?
I, for one, find it insulting and boring not to get useful loot after difficult missions. It flattens out the RPG experience. Besides, do NPCs HAVE to give us things we get from artisans?
Suggestions:
How about a special kind of camp (maybe where pets heal faster?)
house decoration
sculpture/art
dye for our pets fur
treasure map to a really cool place (I would fight for that)
hints to FS path
components you NEED a crafter to use.... DUH!!! ![]()
The options are wide open to you guys and you're making NPC missions boring for us because you're scared to anger the crafters?
"That said, it is a common request for us to make better loot and we do aim to please. Every publish has seen an improvement on loot table and rewards, but we know there is more we can do without upsetting the crafters."
There is Q - plenty more. ![]()
Blame this on no Edit button:
With all of the above said - I want to make a remark on how lack of nice loot affects gameplay for me.
It takes the mystery out of it, and makes me feel like doing difficult things is pointless save for XP. When I travel super-far somewhere, go through the trouble of doing (sometimes monotonous) missions, and get nothing for it - it makes me feel like what I did was pointless. Essentially, I got some XP, which could be done anywhere, AND activated some script (which allows for 1 minute of reading) somewhere in the program. Nothing else...
No Q, no thanks. I'm not paying monthly to have a flat experience. An RPG on this scale should be more engaging and mysterious. I want what I do to have an affect on something, anything.
I'm all for you guys trying to make this a unique RPG, and it is I think. It's a blast, but be careful of trying to dismantle the RPG format TOO much... There's a few reasons people go through the truoble of killing difficult opponents. You've evaporated one of the more fun ones.
If not
WOW SOE - all this money and your forums are this goofy...
AS I was saying -if not loot, can we have something else in it's place to make static missions more mysterious/rewarding/engaging?
We need you to put yourselves in the players shoes on this one Q. ![]()
Ok... Am I shutting up now? Yes.
I like the unique schematic idea. Besure not to just include armor and weapons, but schematics for unique traps..meds...furniture...droids...crafting tools with bounuses...etc etc. I also like some of the uniqe things you get from quests such as the Imperial Pilots helm, and the sword Rantok. More of that would be nice. Faction points are also nice.
Jewelry - necklaces and rings with mods
Crafters can't make jewerry with mods.
This would be good stuff to quest for, lack of loot leaves nothing to do after you max out your character.
I haven't read all the replies, but I would like to see skill enhancers come back. I am glad that they are finally working, but now we can't get them it seems. Skill enhancers didn't incringe on craftsman's territory and they encouraged people to buy from tailors. And for the player, it allowed them a way to advance past the master level and tweak their character so that every Master TKA is a little different.
Why not give us small hologram decorations or something that I know I can use everyday? Like it would be nice to get some food items that enhance stats for a while. Not everyone has or wants a house so furniture will not help everyone. Or a menu option that allows you to pick what you want as a reward. According to the difficulty of the mission better rewards can be received from the menu. I would love to have a small radio/mp3 player in game or a mini TV type thingy.. I know those are harder to make but an MP3 player in game would rock and everyone would be pressed to do a mission to get an option to play their music on the background from within the game. ( Yes I know that you can window SWG and turn on your mp3 player but think outside the box, integrating into the game is always better) Or the cream of the crop... give us nerf lightsabers... so we can wack each other in game without really doing damage with it but just for the simple fact that it is kewl to have one.
